Apocalyptica is composed of three cellists and a drummer. They definitely play their own instruments.
saw them 6 times . 2 times they had 4 cellist. Extra was Antero Manninen
Brent Smith from shinedown has incredible vocals. Love this song
I freaking love Brent Smith! He could sing the phone book and I’d be here for it!
@ 😆 me too!!!
They are basically an instrumental group that has singers from other bands sing the lyrics of their songs.
many of their songs are instrumental only. cello.
The vocalist is from Shinedown, that’s another band you need to check out as well.
they did simple man, 45, and save me already
@@craigcroy4615 ok must have missed them doing
Yes. ''Fly from the Inside''.
Great song.
Apocalyptica became a thing when they did "Metallica" with cellos... 4 cellos and they played a whole lot of the Metallica tracks on them. That was the start... I love their own tracks and all the different vocalists they have collaborated with. And, yes, these boys from Finland too...
Apocalyptica is amazing! Cellos and drums... thats it. They create all that sound with cellos. I saw the tour they did of Metallica music. Outstanding! Love the collab with Corey Taylor and the one with Lzzy Hale
And also Lacey from Flyleaf, and Gavin Rossdale from Bush all amazing collabs.
@@shanebrown4146 Talk to Me... its amazing. Just them and Lzzy.
The Corey Taylor collab is awesome....
I Don’t Care ft. Adam Gontier is another great one of theirs.
Also, if you guys enjoy the cellos (who doesn’t!?), check out 2 Cellos.
Three Days Grace rules
I never thought I’d see the day when you reached Apocalyptica. FYI their best songs have no lyrics IMO. Try Farewell. Mind blowing.
Apocalyptica terms their music as "Cello Rock", although they are classified as Symphonic Metal. They are an amazing band to see live! I prefer the version of this song with Doug Robb singing. I feel the emotion in his voice more than Brent's, but they are both excellent vocalists. My favorite instrumental by these guys is "Sacra". Definitely check out more of their stuff!
Apocalyptica started a whole movement. Kind of like European metal with orchestras. They do songs with singers from Brent Smith to the lead singer from Fly Leaf, Adam Gontier, Corey Tayler... They're amazing.
Apocalyptica is a Finnish symphonic metal band from Helsinki formed in 1993. The band is all classically trained and includes cellists, Eicca Toppinen, Paavo Lotjonen, and Pertuu Kivilaakso, and jazz drummer Mikko Sirén. It's all cellos and yes they play them and bang their heads! There are some amazing live videos of them. You guys should react to the live video of them doing Metallica's One, it's AWESOME!! It rocks! Their cover of Nothing Else Matters is gorgeous!
Apocalyptica and those cellos! My wife and I love them. We have all their published works.
I am in love with Brent Smith and his vocals. He is lead singer with Shinedown. You have reacted to their cover of Simple Man. You can never go wrong when Brent is involved.
#facts
4 cellos and drums makes the band. Featuring different singers and they have some instrumental songs.
Different sounding band, but in a good way. Try listening to I’m Not Jesus from them next.
More Corey Taylor! Love that song!
Yes! Yes! A thousand times YES! Apocalyptica is amazing! Please check more out of them. Path Vol. 1 is a good start.
If you really want to hear what Apocalyptica is capable of, check out the instrumental (ORIGINAL and BEST) version of their song 'Path.'
I've loved this band since the moment I heard it. 🤘😳🤘
I've not heard the group but I was impressed with the sound a great choice of vocalists. He got the emotion and feeling but perfect annunciation, very clear vowels, r's everything. Well done
Brent Smith is the lead singer for Shinedown and can sing absolutely anything and make a hit out of it.
Apocalyptica is such a great band. The very first album I bought at release as a limited edition and played up and down since.. you guys definetly should check out some more of their stuff.
😎💪💪 love this track specially the version with the feature from Hoobastank
Such a great collaboration from Finnish cellos band and BRENT SMITH ftom Shinedown..
Great Track - Apocalyptica are fantastic & Brent's got one of the best voices out there at the moment! You should also check out Sabaton's re-recording of their song 'Angel's Calling' featuring Apocalyptica.
You need to watch the actual video of Apocalyptica. Check out their I'm Not Jesus ft Corey Taylor 🤘😎🤘
Thanks guys! Apocalyptica from Finland feat. Brent Smith from "Shinedown". 3 Cellos and Drums, no other instruments. The "original" version/members were just 4 Cellos, nothing else. Like when they made the Metallica-cover album. They added the drums to the band in 2003. I recommend Apocalyptica feat. Corey Taylor, Adam Gontier, Nina Hagen, Rammstein, Til Lindeman, Metallica etc.
Brent smith from Shinedown
I was lucky enough to see Apocalyptica in a pretty small club before it was amazing. They typically tour with a vocalist who does all the songs but at this show the vocalist was unable to make it and they had a cello sub for the vocal lines, it was one of the best concerts in my 42 years.
The actual video for this ties into another s song from apocalyptica, "broken pieces," which features the original singer from Flyleaf, Lacey Sturm.
Brent Smith and his band Shinedown are fucking amazing. You pretty much can't go wrong with them, but their first album, Leave A Whisper, is still my favorite
You need to see the official music video to this. Helps tell the story of this song. Also, the ending leads into another song they've done featuring Lacey from Flyleaf called "Broken Pieces"
Yeah you should check out there METALLIC COVERS, so Epic!!!
More Apocalyptica please. Shadowmaker is probably the best intro to the band. Great vocals from their semi-permanent touring singer (Franky Perez) plus lots of instrumental sections showing off the band at their best.
The most talented member of the band left before that album. Though he does join them on tour still sometimes. Not sure if he was involved in that album.
Apocalyptica is incredible.
I just saw them in April with Lacuna coil. Great show.
Great band and great vocals from Brent
Awww! I'm SOooo glad you listened to Apocalyptica! This is Symphonic Metal. So, yes Brad was correct.💕
My I suggest End of Me by Apocalyptica featuring Gavin Rossdale. Love that one!! Keep Rocking Brad and Lex!!
Great band, this whole album was good
Even when they get heavy, it is still cellos they started adding amplification and distortion to their cellos and can play full on metal using just cellos and a drum kit
It doesn't happen very often, but every once in a while they do a song that I'm not familiar with. This was one. Very cool sound!!
Hey guys what's up! Greetings from South Florida! Apocalyptica is so cool! The stuff they do, with just the cellos is amazing. You guys rock! God bless you! Peace!
You should watch one that shows the band. They are incredible people as well as fantastic musicians.
They also have this version sung by the lead singer of hoobastank. I love both versions in their kwn way but the one with Doug Robb is my favorite. Brent adds the anger, Doug brings like. Desperation. Check it out
My fav from them is Path vol 2, with Sandra Nasic from Guano Apes (another band you should check out)
Check out their song 'End Of Me' feat. Gavin Rossdale from BUSH!!!
I swear each time I see a reaction of you two the guy always looks down on songs and dislike and the girl always in the vibe and like everythings its just so funny lmao
You guys should check out If You Only Knew by Shinedown (Brennt Smith is the vocalist). His voice is fire! Song gives you a little look at the range that Brennt has. His voice is truly impressive.
I loved it!
Great song
You must listen to more Nightwish with Floor Jansen.
The second half of their career they decided to add drums ( example: Dave Lombardo from Slayer) and occasionally a singer. You need to listen to the early stuff, particularly Inquisition Symphony or Amplified. Nothing Else Matters and Angel of Death (slayer). Lastly, no violins… originally 4 cellos and that was it
Did you know this is Brent Smith of Shinedown!! Go back and watch the video.
Apocalyptica metallica covers are great!
Lol lex was feeling it
All features!
The Tenors - Who wants to live forever ft. Lindsay Sterling. CAUTION -Bring tissues.
This is a powerful cover of Queens "Who want's to live forever"
I killed one of your live streams for this song!!!🤣
Now y'all need to do the version of this song with Doug Robb singing. The tune and the tone are virtually identical, but I see Doug's style of singing makes it sound less somber and more spiteful.
Yes! I love the Doug Robb version! While they are both great singers, Doug's vocals are more emotional, and draw me in.
Definitely, his version is great as well.
Apocalyptica has done instrumental covers of mostly Metallica songs. They do have their own excellent music pieces, ie Farewell, and have guest vocalists as you just heard.
You should check out the singer "Brent Smith's" band "Shinedown" - "Crow And Butterfly" or "Second Chance".
Cello band primarily. Bit annoyed that this is your first Apocalyptica tune, but then their best ones are instrumentals. They first got popular with an instrumental cover album of Metallica (which I don't really recommend other than Nothing Else Matters cover), but since then they have worked with a lot of quality vocalists, including Corey Taylor of Slipknot, and drummers like Dave Lombardo from Slayer.
"bit annoyed this is your first Apocalyptica tune" get off it rofl. This song is amazing and Brent's voice is incredible
@@willl84 Oh no, we have different opinions.
3 Cellos and Drums!
Maestro Fresh Wes - Let Your Backbone Slide
I like the Corey Taylor and Gavin Rossdale ones
I like cellos. I like drums. I like Finns.
Apocalyptica are 4 cello player who added a drummer during their career. You should listen to the album "Plays Metallica with 4 cellos" to understand what they can really do :)
Three words....Brent Smith-Shinedown....nothing else needed.
Violin family: Violin < Viola < *Cello* < Double bass
Y'all know Brent Smith by now!
Rabbit hole!! Bittersweet by Apocalyptica and Broken pieces w/ Lacey Sturm
Check out Smith and Myers Bad at Love
I love Brent Smith
All the sounds that you're hearing in this song and from this group is just 3 cellos and a drummer. And sometimes no drummer and 4 cellos. Watch a live performance, you'll be blown away!!😁😁
I loved seeing Apocalyptica guesting onstage with Sabaton in Helsinki, doing The Price Of A Mile. ruclips.net/video/XMANXJX_nh4/видео.html
Also, have you two reacted to Sabaton yet? Heavy metal history lessons. They focus on military history, telling the stories that they feel shouldn't be forgotten - they also have their own history channel here on YT, to take a deeper look at some of those stories. They put up a ton of lyric videos for their songs, too. I'd maybe start with To Hell And Back (about Audie Murphy, the most decorated American of WWII) or 82nd All The Way (about Sgt Alvin York in WWI, who earned the Medal of Honor when he led a small patrol group against a German machine gun nest and captured 132 prisoners).
Damn y'all do alot of reactions,i just found this song lol
Keep the Apocalyptica reactions coming. Check out "I'm Not Jesus feat. Corey Taylor"
They need to react to the live version of Hall of the Mountain King....
if you liked the cellos check out 2 Cellos maybe Thunderstuck or the one with Steve Vai
Do apocalyptic, featuring Gavin Rossdale of Bush..and them featuring Corey Taylor....
You gotta their song "I'm Not Jesus" feat Corey Taylor
You guys need to check out Apocalyptica "I'm Not Jesus" with Corey Taylor.
Shadow Moses is a a sick song to react to
Omg you should react to Apocalyptic ft. Adam Gontier it called I Don't Care. Please react to it!! Corey Taylor also has a ft. Song by Apocalyptica I'm Not Jesus!!
try out their version of ‘fight fire with fire’. it will change your opinion of the cello as an instrument. (edit - the video from 14 years ago)
Cellos and drums
All classically trained cellist
Check out Smith and Myers
Architects - Animals
You have to do, "I'm not Jesus" with Corey Taylor and Apocalyptica!!!!!
everyone talks about the band, but how about those damn lyrics...when you are so in love and in a bad relationship, knowing you need to leave that relationship and just can't because you are so in love with that person, and the mind fights the heart, but the heart wins
Just ran across this and was wondering if Lex will be featured in next year's edition? The Best Damn Female Guitarists The World Has to offer! - RUclips Check em out.
Try their song with Corey Taylor - Im Not Jesus
77.... Good day
"so they are litarally playing electric guitar and violin" nope, they're not.
Only cellos and drums, and not even electrical cellos. Just amplified classic cellos, which they shred/distort as if they are electrical guitars.
They also go just as crazy as guitarist. I've seen them play a cello while lifting it over their head just holding it with one hand on the neck.
Do metallica appocalyptica
Apocalyptica has no singer and no violin only cello`s and drums. Saw these guys 6 times live, they are killing it (party !!! ) try Hyperventilation from their album "Cult" . At their best without a singer .
vdeo ?
Pls react to shadow Moses
Please react to shadow Moses
By bring me the horizon
APOCALYPTICA started out in the 90s as a college thing in Finland. It was a project to showcase the similarities between metal and classical. They started as just a cello quartet. First album was just Metallica covers. 2nd album (their best) expanded to include covers of songs by Sepultura, Pantera and Faith No More, as well as more Metallica covers and originals. Their original "Toreador" is their finest work, imo. Eventually, they sold out and blended in with cheap, faceless, modern, corporate radio rock, almost entirely destroying everything that made them unique. They added a drummer and several guest pop vocalists. This is what you get in this song. Just radio litter.
Eyyy totally agree at Toreador! Amazing tune. They have worked with some interesting vocalists but yes a lot have been popular flavour artists, not really giving their best performance. I thought the Ville Valo one was good, his creepy smooth gothic vibe (however sickly sweet) suits the tone of Apocalyptica. The Rasmus fella not so much but whatcha gonna do. Toreador though, beautiful.
@@maxdamagus They kinda scooted the cellos under the rug imo. Even Brad and Lex just thought there was just an additional string part added bc A decided to make it sound like just an alternative band. People don't even notice that they aren't guitars and bass. The band could have transitioned gracefully into a rock/metal format by getting the right guests vocalists and keeping up with the grandiose arrangements and vibes of metal and classical, and really putting the cellos upfront. Sad, but hey, we always have songs like Toreador, M.B., Harmageddon etc. I did love their quartet version of Holy Night, as traditional as it was.
Do they even known who brent smith is ?
