Best scene in the whole of the series. Incredible cinematography with an even better script executed absolutely perfectly. Still impressed every time I see it
That jingle at 2:48 right before Tommy starts talking makes this scene so impeccable. It signals that he's about to get real with Hayden. It's the little things in this show that make it so amazing.
shelby gave the guy back his life, twice. the bullet had his name on it. shelby made sure to make him understand he was kept alive providing he worked for him, and he would make a lot of money if he stayed alive.
its just complete control over a persons life and death that's addicting to Tommy, also the fact that he can afford to leave someone who just said no to him alive shows how much control he has over everyone in Birmingham
He has the power to literally take someone's life, and the power to spare them. He's basically a King, or 'God'. He's saying that the feeling of absolute power and control is what gets him off and keeps him going in the criminal world.
I reject this. A gun can be used to de-escalate a conflict without discharging it. It can be (and most cases should be) a deterrent. A tool that's not used to kill but to draw a line in the sand saying, violence lies beyond here so here's the chance to back away. This isn't Dune. Drawing your knife doesn't demand it tastes blood before re-sheathing it. Self-control is the first step towards responsible gun ownership, not tactical training.
@@oklafornia3643 You are correct, however the reason "if you draw it use it" is taught to prevent idiots and emotional people from using guns like toys or to show off; there are many of these. People who do not realize how to properly use force with a weapon. And when not to. It is good to stop some of the foolishness at least from the more... unenlightened let's say.
And thats exactly the point Thomas proved in this scene. Because he’s not known for pulling a gun out easily, he felt it. If he was a guy waving with his gun at any chance, you wouldnt bealive him
Yeah ur opinion matters. The show runners are crying in the corner coz George-junk finds the show corny coz he certainly knows what a good piece of story and acting is. U are the type who loves breaking bad just coz others say it is good.
@@tejasviratmishra5168 hahahaha I do know what good acting is and the show does has some but it’s corny. They just rip off tropes from American gangster movies but do it a whole lot worse. Plus Adrian Brody is absolutely awful in the show. And breaking bad was good but should’ve ended after Gus was killed. Seasons after sucked. Try not crying cuz a stranger doesn’t like this overrated British shit show

Also never heard, or cared to hear a Taylor Swift or Beyonce song and I've never cared for Adrian Brody as an Italian crime boss. They could've gotten anyone to play Luca for a lot less than they're paying Brody. Not much I can do about that but I sure as hell can do a bit more to avoid Taylor Swift or Beyonce.
I really like how Staggs stands up to Tommy, he knows Tommy has all the power but refuses to bow down to him.
Scousers for ye mate. Bow down to no man always ready to go
This guy was a character definitely introduced for the film
Stephen Graham is a brilliant actor, would like to see more of him
This entire show is brilliant

I mean... will all saw IT.... so ....wtf?!
I hope Hayden Stagg features in the new film ❤
Greatest scene in the last season, from my perspective..
It was a little corny but the whole last season was pretty corny
Ok
Two powerhouse actors - graham is Oscar and Emmy worthy every time
Al Capone meets Tommy Shelby 😂😂
Two great actors but I just didn't "feel it" with this scene. Stephen Graham was wasted in this role imo.
Agreed, wasted talent. Or poorly written scene.
You do realise there’s a movie right? Y’all are so damn impatient.
Did you also feel it?
So this is where he talked to Alphonse Capone
No?
Not exactly but I see what you're saying... that was about 2/3 seasons before this
Nahh that's Tony Pro
Didn't that guy play Al Capone in another show. I think that's what the original commenter was on about. Maybe not though.

Is that a bust of Lenin in Stagg's office or no? it kinda looks like it
