    The Monoprice Select Mini is a solid 3D Printer but I had made some adjustments, mods, to the printer. I still wasn't fully happy with how everything turned out so I am going to make a few more adjustments to hopefully turn this into an even better printer. Check out today's video to see the new upgrades!

    Nice video. I like how you didn't gloss over the difficulties. I would like to see a summary video of how it all turned out and how your printing improved or didn't improve. Thanks for taking the time to produce this video.

    When I did the wire move mod I replaced the heatbed wires with silicon insulated stranded wires that are designed to flex without breaking. Since you'll need to replace or repair the wires anyway I highly recommend using more flexible wires.

    The V2 still had the issues with the broken heat bed wires. I got mine about a year ago and the first thing I printed were the parts to do the thermistor reroute. No issues after a year of printing. The 30mm part cooling fan is garbage though. Definitely worth upgrading to a 40mm equivalent PWM.

      I had bed wire issue on my V2 about 6 months in. Monoprice repaired it under warranty.

      Latest v2 has new layout for the wiring through a slot in the base in a protected sheath, so this mod is not needed in the latest version Nov 2018. G4PEY

      Didn't even think about upgrading to a 40mm fan. I happen to have two, one a Noctura NF-A4x20 and the other a Silenx IXP-13-40. Will have to see what the specs are and if they'll be suitable... though guessing they will. I only need the one for the Klispch Pro Media 2.1 cooling upgrade. Maybe the other will be suitable for the V2. Thanks for the expert advice. I'm still waiting for the spool of filament in the mail, though everything else seems to be working with my new used black V2. Thinking silicone wire I have might not be a bad idea for the heated bed.

    Rerouting those wires is really important. Mostly because it's really difficult to solder replacements onto what amounts to a giant heat sink.

    • @Excalibur250
      @Excalibur250 3 года назад

      I think they used silver solder on the heated bed cause my iron did not melt it lmao. I just cut out the break in the wire and spliced the wire back together with a splash of solder. Re routed the wire out of the back and drilled a hold in the corner of the side panel to feed the wire in through.

    I added some new part cooling to my MPSM v1 earlier this year and have had issues with it. tldr it cools the bed too much and the bed can't keep up. I haven't really found a solution for that yet but I figured it's something you might want to look out for as well. I'll tackle it after I'm done converting my MPSM to a RAMPS board.

      Have you tried putting cork under the bed?

    • @questionmark576
      @questionmark576 5 лет назад

      Have you checked your bed wires? Mine were failing and the bed took forever to get up to temp. I replaced them and rerouted through a hole in the back and mine heats great again. Took a long time for the heated bed to actually stop heating, it just got slower and slower over time.

  • @svenkicherer
    @svenkicherer 3 года назад

    i received my select mini v2 last week and it looks that monoprice made things better. my mpsm v2 has a slotted hole for the hotbed cable and there is nearly no force on the cable while moving.

    it? also did you notice much of a difference with the Z access stabilizer you added?

    • @Fugatech3DPrinting

      It's been working great so far. The Z stabilizer made a small difference but depending on how straight your Z screw is it might have a larger effect for you.

    Is there a service that I can mail my Mini in the have it upgraded? I don't care for having to deal with the clips and allen screws when I get a clog plus I think my fan is starting to die. Also, is there some sort of upgrade to get the bed leveled ?

    Hi, I have these two questions, if you can help answer, I appreciate:
    1- I create pictures on autocad to turn it into format compatible for Cura Slices, but they are flat, how can the 3d printer make it into an object with 3D dimensions? I mean how I can do? the thickness needs to be specified?
    2- Does this print have a range of max and min sizes of objects it can bring? well, i would like if there is a details manual about all these, but the manual when I bought the machine does not say or I miss somewhere?
