I just recently joined a select team. I’m 14 years old and have always been the best or at least one of the best players in my Rec league. I’m now a starter on one of the best select teams in Washington. And I am starting to watch your videos to get better. AND I LOVE THEM!
Another great video, Matt. As a dad that had no idea how to help my young player develop, your videos have helped both of us tremendously! Best of luck to you this season!
This is great. Very easy for a team to understand quickly. I like creating groups of 3 or 4. Line ups for technical drills are not a good idea in my opinion. As many touches on the ball as possible for everyone is development.
Hey matt. Not a pro here but I noticed something that you can improve. In the octagon drill you rarely shoulder-check. Players like Xavi Hernandez always shoulder check like every other second. Great for awareness and just a good habit to build muscle-memory with. Gotta shoulder check before receiving every ball :) PS. Hope you are enjoying NZ!
I really like the octagon drill, never seen that before but looks great and I like the two touch high step still. I've always done one touch or two touch but to bring it down to ground for second touch
My U10's will get to do some of those drills, thanks for posting. And now you are in NZ (I'm in Australia) your videos will come in at a decent time. :D
Hi Matt my name is Andrew. I'm a right back as well and I stay In Kenya. What tips do you have for your position and how to improve your weak foot? If you like the question maybe make a video about it. By the way you've help me a lot thanks.
Hey Matt. I have Jumper's Knee and Osgood Schlatters on both knees, and I've had to sit out for those two a few times. I haven't had to sit out and miss games for a while now, but I want to prevent that from happening, and I've been told that through strengthening your legs you will gradually get past these problems. What are some leg strengthening exercises that won't impact these two problems. I try squats, but they seem to inflame the lump in Osgood Schlatters. I don't have access to a gym yet, plan to start going in June
To make this long story short I started Playing football when I was about 7 years old. I played for 3 teams as a LM and RM. I won tournaments. I had talent I was told from many players and Coaches. I quit around age 13 because I didn't have a drive anymore (Dumb Teen rebel phase). Later on I realized my mistake of quitting and I instantly regret it. I played my junior and senior year in high school in Varsity. Im 21 now Im not in college and I don't know what do to I miss the beautiful game a lot. Should I start playing for college? Is it too late to go pro? Even for MLS? How do I get my skills back?
hi, just a 16 kids who likes you video , I always want to ask if there any chance that u can go to play on mls, because I remember there's a video of u talk about where will you are in five years ,and you said that u will make hard effeort to make it to the mls? and I really hope u can make it to the mls, because you are my goal all the time since I saw your video on the first time.
U did well at training but why don't you do in the game. Just calm down in the game. Just think that u r the best it will gives u more confident. I always do that niw i am way better than before.

Dave Buikema yes check bfore receiving the ball
he was shoulder checking but ooookkkk
n o anyways he’s a right back usually there’s no action behind him and he’s usually facing the right way to receive the ball
