Thank you for this video, Marina! :) I am also an immigrant, from Germany :) I loved that you also shared some of the difficult parts of your immigration journey. I myself encountered much more challenges than I expected. Unfortunately, I did have expectations 😄which made it all more difficult to accept. However, I am deeply grateful life gave me this opportunity and pushed me into this direction. I am looking forward to my next years, in the US. To anyone who is currently struggling in the US or in the middle of the transition process: Sending you strength and love 💗

From the Faroe Islands 🇫🇴 I found your linguamarina channel back in 2019 when I studied for the TOEFL to get accepted to an American college. Because of covid, I couldn't move to the US and start college until spring semester of 2021, but since then I've also gotten married to my American husband (we started dating long distance in 2016) and am now a green card holder, living happily in the US! I appreciate all of your content about the English language and the American culture!
@@ochoax2628 No, the other way around. I applied for and got a green card because I was married to an American. There's many people who marry Americans just to get a green card, and then they get divorced as soon as the non-American spouse gets a green card... That's misusing the system!
First time viewer of this channel. For moving to the U.S. at the age of 25, your English is beyond amazing. You are obviously very intelligent and articulate. Thanks for abiding by the country's immigration rules. Best wishes for success. I subscribed and expect big things from you and your husband.
Great video Marina!! I came here from your English teaching channel, and it is so good to know a bit about your story coming to the US. I am from Brazil, and I just got here in the US with the L1 Visa. I hope I adapt well here as much as you did.
in my current situation, I can identify so much with your story! I came here to study and my car budget is the same as yours was, so far i'm doing my grocery shopping by foot as well and life without a car really is only half the life that the US offers, oh yeah and i feel lonely too many times
I’ve started to watch your video around 5 years ago when I was learning English. Your videos helped me to keep motivation. Now I’m getting my TEFOL certificate for teaching English 😍 I prefer to watch “lifestyle” vlogs on your RUclips nowdays
Your life and the journey you had makes me overwhelmed. By the age of 25, hope to be somewhere nearer to your position. You really are a huge inspiration to me✨
Thanks a lot 😊😊 I really want to meet with you some day 🤩 Now I am learning English I watch all your contents to improve my mind level and try to know all the things for living in USA through your contents Thanks a lot again ❤️❤️❤️
I am so excited to watch this video and see how much you struggled to start your start up and go back to the United States. It reminds me of my story because I have struggled for almost 2 years and half to get the visa of America after it has been denied for the first time and the second time I got accepted for only 5 months and when I came back home to Egypt I applied for the third time and I finally got it, and thankfully after I graduated from pharmacy school in my country I went back to the United States, and I have been here for a year and half. I can tell that I am still struggling for my equivalence to be a registered pharmacist here, also for work. The greatest thing to me now that I have seen a the same story of mine and now we all look up to you since you are an influencer and entrepreneur, hopefully I achieve my goals, too. Thanks for creating that hope! 🙏
This video is the second video of yours that I watched. I really like your videos. Maybe part of the reason is that I see somebody that believes in the world-known "American Dream". I am rooting for you and your husband to do well. I am sure that you and he will become multimillionaires in the 8 or 9 digits. Good luck!
Awesome story, almost very similar moving overseas from Fiji to USA , and in San Mateo , Silicon Vally would love to meet up some time if you guys are free
Marina, it was a pleasure to watch this video!!!😍 Like always, though😌 You inspire and motivate me! Happy for you❤️ I wish you further success! (Dreaming about California😅🤷)
Marina, please do a video on how to pitch to y combinator ? Or any US based seed program. Do you need to have a running business or can you just have an idea?
I’m from Kenya really longing to go to USA for my MBA next year. I’m also a startup founder looking for investors and I really want to move to Silicon Valley to find investors:.. I’m so hopeful that I’ll migrate there.
Crazy thing is America lets millions of people who are not qualified cross borders illegally, but give hard time to people like u who can make this place more rich and great.
I just got rejection last week, can feel the pain when you had it in that time. Could you please share your lawyer's contact details, would love to try with the lawyer again?
I came to US at age 25 as well back in 2000. When you have greencard you only can stay abroad for 6 months otherwise your greencard will be revoked, for US citizens you can stay as long as you want abroad, just pay the visa destination yearly and its cheap, like $100 buck a year. We have same appetite drive Porsche Macan Turbo and Tesla Model X :)
Dear Marina, please let us know in some of your next videos, why IS SO IMPORTANT TO LIVE IN SILICON VALLEY for you, where is everything so expensive? I understand that if you have a start-up, it could help. Now you have 3 youtube channels and it doesn´t matter, where you live or film them. Your company linguamarina offers language stays in abroad and a lot of your employees live in Russia or Ukrajina. You have a lot of on-line meetings. Why is necessary to live directly in Silicon Valley now? Because of people? But do your neighbors really want to share their lives and ideas with each other? I s it so important for running your business to live there? Please let us know. Thanks and thanks for all your videos too.
I am from Hungary living in the US, came with an F-1 back on 2018 and now just going through my green card process so I can totally feel you and what u are sharing here... love your videos a lot, been watching them lately every day :) great job with everything 💕
Hey Greta! My partner is also on F1 in the US right now. Can you please share what was the process in detail if you are comfortable. Just wanted to get a better idea. Thank you in advance
@@gracyhalam hi Gracy!:) it is a super broad topic but when you adjust your status from F-1 to a permanent residency status; you need to file for green card (i-485) for USCIS. It is a lot of paperwork; several forms that support the case (i would suggest looking up videos and lawyers on youtube about this in extra. That helped me a lot + the USCIS website articles about what and how to file; they list everything you need to know. It’s been a year for me right now and still waiting, so it’ll be a very long application process. U’ll need i-485 & i-130 + i-131 as well as i-765 and i-864 (affidavit of support) + i-693 so i’d just start googling and doing the research just because even tho these are required (and you have to pay for the application as well as the medical exam from out of pocket) - every case is different and u might need additional forms as well regarding your own situation:) you can reach out to me on insta @gretaszilvasi and there I can help you with some basic questions if u feel like it.:) hope this helps tho

I'm from Egypt where the currency keeps devalued 50% every 5 years. I can't save money to immigrate and the country criminalize buying other currencies as long as you don't have a travel visa.
I want to ask a suggestion from you and Dima,i am from a non it/software background want to transform my career in to software/IT field,i don't know where to start but i request what are current trend to learn in today world and i settle in job as soon as possible,i am currently 31yrs old request a suggestion
Can we have a US Citizenship party when you do become naturalized as a citizen? This channel and amount of engagements seems small and comfortable enough to have one!
Hi Marina, just a question: Did you study in Harvard ? Your history is amazing and the energy you have really touches us deeply. I am already forty and failed a lot 😥, but I am studying and investing in knowledge a lot to overcome this situation. Congrats for your vídeos, it estimulates us a lot. Break a leg.
I am applying for fall23 for the graduate program last fall I got rejected from all universities I applied to. One of them was JohnsHopkins. Can I know which program it was??
Interesting video and you need MONEY to kickstart your emigration to the US. Unfortunately, I am not interested in the US as a destination. I stayed in Hyderabad and built my own business in Tech and Health. The USA is for greed mongers and people who have the money but do not know to spend it even if I bought a Tesla which I would not. Frugality with a Purpose. The seduction of Silicon Valley is a past tense. One can work without location specific. My high tech office is connected to my worldwide Offices and HQ is in Mauritius. My Family and friends are my most important people and do no need a lonely apartment costing USD4000 a month. I own my own Home and a Holiday home. The MORAL is do not look at the US as a seduction for Wealth. You can make it in your home Country. The myth of start of finance bubble is now broken.
You really completely missed the point of the video and her story. You do your thing. Let others make their own choices. Don't tell people to be like you.
You are an inspiration and well spoken . Best of luck to you and your family. ❤
