I don't think people realize how underrated this car is. Audi went batshit crazy and decided to put a sawed off version of the Lambo 5.2FSI V10 in a little coupe. It's the only time that engine went in anything bound for North America (maybe the world?). The transmission is a damn peach, the body is timeless... this car is goddamned amazing. Oh... and the moonroof doesn't slide because that would add a ton of weight and remove a ton of headroom. No need in an RS car.
dream car right here, it looks so elegant and menacing at the same time, i havent seen the restyled version irl but i think i would like this one better tbh
Those potholes and road conditions resulting in a flat is exactly why I opted for the 19s. They fit well with spacers, and tire options are a lot easier to sort through at a 255 35 r19 size.
Beautiful car, I got my first Audi which is also a 2014 , but it’s an S4 last year ,same color as yours too , and you’re absolutely right about loving to drive the vehicle, it is a joy…yours looks to be in great shape as well, I do want to stay with Audi so a V8 is on the horizon, I know they’re a lil expensive to maintain, but there’s nothing like a good ol combustible…NJOY!
Hate to break it to you but the drive modes in the US cars only control steering, transmission, and throttle. They do nothing for the ride because US cars do not have dynamic ride control. Only European RS5s do. This is because the US has different rear impact standards and Audi could not fit the valving hardware in there with the updated protection for the US so we all have regular RS suspension regardless of what mode you’re in. You spent so much time during the drive talking about it so I thought you should know.
Love your car. I’m getting one. “If the EPA or the government is watching”, funny. These will never be built again. Most interesting car available today. Nicer than the new ones in both powertrain and looks.
I have a 2013, currently at 58k. Only thing I’ve replaced were the brakes. We still do the 4k oil changes but overall the engine is SOLID. Glad I chose the RS5 over the M5 due to reliability. Sleeper Audi.
@jaycrzy5737 I purposely avoided the carbon ceramic brake rotors. I worked for Audi for many years and have seen some very ugly invoices for the carbon ceramic rotors. The steel rotors are just fine, and I didn’t intend on tracking the car. Even when I owned this RS5, which was pre-covid, the steel rotors were $600 each!
Bro, I think someoone stole your stock seats? That car comes with some BEAUTIFUL one piece design bucket seats in the front. This is literally the ONLY RS5 Ive ever seen that did not have them.
I had the S5 version of this car and it was the best car I have owned. I currently have the next S5 after this one and I have never felt like it was as good as the old one. I always wanted a 2013 or 14 RS5 and if I see a low mile one or the convertible I definitely would go back to it. The price should stay firm or rise because Audi is ending all coupes as of end of 2024. And as of 2024 all the BMW's are dystopian ugly so that is out as well.
We will likely never see a car like this RS5 or even the S5 like you had. Both such great and raw cars. The 3L supercharged V6 was a phenomenal engine. I have no doubt that nice examples of the S5 and RS5 of this era will appreciate in value.
I bought a 27k miles 2014 RS5. And just take it out as a driving car. I think for those that don’t track, there’s very few cars that are better than Rs5 b8
Might be Trading in my 2014 Jaguar Ftype V8s for a 2015 Rs5 tomorrow. My car is high mileage, and so does the Audi. Condition is more key for me as far as the life of the car. I'm a jag guy, but the Audi scares me on maintenance. lol
Stick with a 2014+ RS5. 2013 I hear has DSG issues that were fixed in the next model year. It’ll save you a-lot of money not having any transmission work done!
@@tydrives4846 appreciate the heads up. I'll keep that in mind! There is a 2014 near me, but they want to much for the miles. $39k with 73k miles. I feel that's to many miles.
That is what I sold mine to another dealer for. The prices of them seem to be on the rise slightly. There were two up here in Connecticut for sale around $39-40k as well.
@@tydrives4846 ah. Figured it was something like that! The RS5 is getting dated so I don’t blame ya. Still an amazing car and I think they may even go up in value. Congrats man

This car will never go out of style. Beauty.
Any Audi lover knows the B.85 RS5 is so much nicer than the B9 RS5
Of course it won't. It was styled by an Italian lol ( Walter De'Silva )
@@darkspeed62 chill out idk about all that lmao
@@darkspeed62 B9 RS5 also nice but definitely not the engine melody*
I own a 19 rs5, it’s an amazing car but I just wish my car had that engine. That’s a timepiece along with the look.
The B9 RS5 is definitely faster and maybe a nicer drive, but it does lack the character of the 4.2 V8.
Well maintained vehicle. I had an Audi A5 2013 premium plus. Loved the vehicle, but my 2018 A5 sportback prestige is satisfying as well.

A well-rounded and classy review. Nice work!!
I had a 2019 RS5 Sportback. I love to find how the older RS5s were. This is awesome!
Thanks so much for your excellent review brother. As an avid Audi fan, I'll be buying the RS5 as we speak.

Also in CT - looking at one on Tuesday as a weekend driver. Good info. Thanks for sharing!
only thing i would add are wheel spacers. just under flush = perfect

Piano black looks great when it's overcast.
After I have my truck for awhile I want to get one of these so bad I’ve been a Audi fan since I was a kid

When you get cooled seat option it gets rid of the bucket seats. The ones with the bucket seats only have heated seats not cooled seats.

I 100% regret getting rid of this. But I only have room for 1 fun car at a time for the time being.
@TyDrives i'm debating b8.5 vs b9 myself.
I’ve driven both quite extensively. The B8.5 has more character without a doubt. But the B9 is undoubtedly faster.
