Same, I actually like this on-screen text more than a live commentary, since it avoids the whole 'um, err' filler when someone is trying to concentrate and doesn't have anything to actually say. Taking a step back and commentating after playing the game gives him more space to make relevant comments, instead of just stating the obvious or shouting a lot and being generally obnoxious like so many Let's Players resort to... Naming no names, but you probably know the ones ;)
Protip: If you use solid white text with a black outline and/or drop shadow, it will be readable on almost any background. A couple of other options: * Put a partially transparent black rectangle behind your white text, (or similar with different colors) * Use a difference blend mode. E.g., if you use a very light gray text with a "difference" blend, it will be show up very light gray against a black background and very dark gray against a white background. This blend trick works against most backgrounds, but the text can get lost against 50% grays if you don't also include some kind of outline, shadowing or backdrop. If you're using Adobe After Effects, I'd start by adding an effects layer to your text layer(s). Start by experimenting with just a drop shadow or stroke effects layer. Little touches like this will make your video look much better and help with your contrast challenges.
Some critiques on the first level: It seems kind of unoriginal but does definitely look like it's well made and looks like a normal Mario Galaxy level. I also think that if this hack were a true game mod to enjoy, the first level seems too complicated and expects people to know things about SMG2 already. For example, the banzai bill were put in early on in the original game for a challenge but they just go in a straight path. The normal bullet bills follow you and seem a bit too much for the first level. Otherwise it's a great hack.
You remind me of Skawo, who does text based commentary in his walkthroughs and also part of Newer Team who makes rom hacks (newer super Mario bros, Wii, U, etc)

It's easier to use 2 senses simultaneously than 1 sense for 2 different things. Voice commentary may be inconvenient for you but it's probably a better move.

MeTheMarioMan the background is actually called the skybox. It's not your fault that that happened, tough. The creator most likely didn't set the skybox size correctly, causing the blue circle to appear.
Yes... I know. Aurum himself has stated that the issue had been giving him trouble, and since it was something occurring that was unintended, it is a glitch. Aurum himself has called it so. And besides, he fixed it, so this is irrelevant now.
Some prefer that their voice/identity remain private. I respect that. This is because he'd rather not deal with people going over to him and saying "Oh, aren't you that guy who makes those playthroughs?"

Oh god, the childhood feels. 11 y/o me has spent 121 hours mastering this game. Now years later it's still beautiful. Mario galaxy is a piece of art.
I still remember the message you get on the Wii home screen when you get all the stars.

Of any playthrough of any video game or mod, this is the best and most enjoyable one I've seen by far.
