I live in Australia and my parents had a CMS 1000 manufactured about mid 1989. It had the tool caddy on the top, which you could order separately and essentially stick onto the machine. The machine also came with dry carpet cleaning powder and Medley carpet freshener spray. I do remember that when the dust level reached near the white indicators on the bin, the cyclone performance reduced significantly and the pre motor filters started to clog and there was a noticeable suction drop off. These machine had no post motor filtration. From what I can gather, the CMS 2000 (sold in Aus and NZ) is essentially the same machine as the ClearTrak, just different names.
Oh awesome! Workhorse does sell refurbished Cleartraks still, so they do sell them still, but as far as new machines go, they are all branded Workhorse. Thank you for watching!
I’ve been trying to get a refurbished cleartrak or a workhorse sent over to me here in the UK but it’s not happened, workhorse don’t even respond to my emails, been trying for years, after seeing them in use with the carpet cleaning company’s they seem to be pretty good, and with more oomph than our Dyson DC01s had, at least our DC01 had a shroud and pre motor filter You never know maybe one day I’ll get one of those sent over from them
Great video Karl, I love that you restored your family vacuum. Are there really no pre-motor filters on these vacuums? Is the rectangle foam filter just a post-motor exhaust filter?
Is the dual cyclone technology considered obsolete? I personally still like it, I guess it’s a nostalgia thing as it was Dyson’s first vacuum technology. It seems that a lot of companies are still using the dual cyclone (Hoover, Bissell, Eureka, Dirt Devil, etc. ).
Technically it’s still being used in machines today. All those companies that you listed do use a cyclonic collection system in a lot of their machines now. The Amways and early Dysons were primitive in their designs in comparison to later machines (ie lacking pre motor filters, shrouding around the cyclone, only 1-3 cyclones, etc…). Nowadays, Dyson has vacuums with 10+ different cyclones to ensure no loss of suction. The engineering is fascinating though, and these older and simpler bagless machines still perform much better than some of their newer counterparts :)
@@Konstellation_Karl_55 Good work mate, What I can tell you about my machine is that it is almost identical to your "Cleartrack" version. Mine did have the vacuum moulded tool caddy that was held on by double sided tape. Bit cheap for a machine that retailed for over $1,000 AUD. I was pleased to see they are still being made. I was an Amway rep when the CMS 100o came out. Keep up the good work.
Nice i love Dysons and at the end this are part of Cleaners History, Excellent as usual.

Cool! One of the few bagless machines I really like.
Thank you for watching!
Happy birthday 🎂🎈
Thank you!!
Still sold today under the ClearTrak Workhorse name. I’m actually going to buy start buying them for my carpet cleaning company.

Oh I hope you get one! They really are great machines! I, myself, really want a DC-01 for my collection someday too :) thank you again for watching!

Thank you so much for watching! The rectangular filter is just a post motor exhaust filter. Unfortunately they never got a pre motor filter :(

Happy Birthday!! 🎂🎈🎉🎊🎁
Thank you so much!
Did filterqueen vacuums us the first cyclonic technology?
Technically, Filter Queens don’t cyclone technology. Filter Queens have their own patented system with a cloth filter cone that traps dirt and debris.
