Bandurria is similar to mandolin but it has 6 groups of strings that's tuned in 4th's. My bandurria is actually a Spanish bandurria but tuned in Philippine standard tuning (1st - G5, 2nd - D5, 3rd - A4, 4th - E4, 5th - B3 and 6th - F#3). If you have played mandolin, bandurria is easier because you could play the major scale using mostly 2 fingers unlike mandolin you need 3 fingers to play the same scale. It's because it has more groups of strings. Usually around 8 weeks (around 160hours), you could be playing beginner pieces, and If you have experience playing other string instruments a week would be enough to play few songs. 😊😊😊
@@musicramblingsbyeben interesting I actually am thinking about learning the mandolin. I know it's easier and played throughout the entire world including the Philippines. I saw a used one at a pawn shop and am thinking about snagging it lol.
The western mandolin is not so popular in the Philippines. Mandolin is more versatile because apart from playing melodies it can also play chords. I haven't played western mandolin myself, but I think it would be difficult because I have been playing Philippine tuned bandurria very long time. I'm not sure where you're based, but here in UK bandurria costs at least £350 which is ridiculously expensive. I like the sound of mandolin as well, so cool! 😊😊😊
The Spanish bandurria is very well made and the woods are dried well, mine has no problems even during winter when the humidity is 40% indoors. Probably similar to what you get there in the U.S. because it is marketed for countries that has winter.😊
I'll try to practice this.
I'm interested napakachangellenging po
