  • If your wondering....strictly speaking its not THE falcon, its a converted YT-1300 freighter of which there are thousands throughout the galaxy, lets call it the 'Grumpy Tyke'. I intend to use it for RPG games also which is why I included a lot of hooks such as doors, secret rooms, etc to create situations to roleplay and game through, armoured doors for instance might prove a good barricade in Legion games. I don't even think its finished as if the RPG crew decide to install extras I may well model them in. There are some good reference pics in the Haynes manual of bolt on armour and small interceptor craft for instance, like the falcon itself this ship is going to tell a story of its own! The miniatures simply represent a few weirdos I picked up on a local planet, some annoying teen who has an unhealthy appr ciation of his sister and his dodgy looking 'uncle' (ssssay there ssssony). Personally I reckon I might kick them off at the next planet, they look like trouble
    If you check out the Diagostini model you will notice that it only comes with the living quarters, a few access tubes and the cockpit, all limited in detail, I originally thought to myself I might 'add a little more detail to the living quarters (the big square room) well, that rapidly got out of control once I found some awesome 3d print files on Gambody for interior parts! The files were not made for this model so a lot of re-scaling, and scratch building were required to shoehorn them into this hull but it turned out OK and wa a lot of fun! I also added 30+LEDS to light the interior an additional 20 something fibre optics to the cockpit (some of these are blinking to create a cool effect). I will add a video at a later date...oh I also created a soundbox from an old kenner falcon in the guise of a thermal detonator for some added fun in games
    Excuse the crappy vid, if I ever have the spare time I will get some better clips!

    First off. Insanely beautiful. I just asked my Falcon social media groups if anyone has tried this. They all said they’ve never seen one with full interior. Do you think you could ever do a how to video? I would love, and after seeing this I am going to do a full interior version as well. Thank you SO MUCH for sharing, and inspiring!

      Thanks for the kind words mate, appreciated :) She was a real labour of love pretty much created on the hoof with no pre planning so getting a little excited and involved I pretty much forgot to take any WIP pictures...doh! In fact when I originally started building the base model I simply thought to myself, hmmm, think I will just add a few cargo crates to make it a little more interesting, a few weeks later......….
      There are a few more pictures here www.tanksandtrolls.co.uk/Millennium%20falcon.htm and it's definitely worth checking out the rest of the website for all the other interesting builds I get up to but unless I ever decide to build another, which I think is practically an impossibility, sadly I think any how to videos may not be possible, hell, it was such a blur of activity over such a short period of time I can hardly believe I pulled it off myself, I often look at all the fancy lighting and wiring involved and think how the F did I do all that?! LOL, I think the devil may be expecting my soul :P

      lol thanks mate, if you check out my website or facebook page tanks and trolls I also printed a legion'ish scale Ghost and am currently working on a legion scale AT-M6 (no interiors). In fact I should pull my thumb out my arse and get some more vids uploaded, I have printed about 20+ Swars ships at Legion scale now, running out of shelf space!

      Hi Scott, just basic Aldi balco printers. I absolutely swear by them though, built like tanks and reliable as F*&k! I actually have 6 of them now so that says it all really. I also have a Prusa Mk2 which I use for super fine stuff but tbh it can be such a pain in the Ahole I haven't been near it for a few weeks now. I Also have a Wanaho (or whatever its called) duplicator, this is basically the model the Balco is cloned from, in my opinion the balco is BETTER! Aldi (UK) are currently having an online sale you can pic up the printer for £250 and their own brand filament which I use is about £13 a reel. PSs. sorry about the late reply I don't check here as often as I should!

    love it, been thinking for a while of getting the deagostini falcon and use the gambody file to do the interior.. looks amazing.. is the rescaling as simple as taking it to 1:43 or is the ratio actually diferent?

    Incredible work is this 3d printed?

      Thanks billi, the outer shell, living area and cockpit are diagostini collectable studio scale model collected over about 2 years, it then sat in the shed for a couple more before I decided to build it! My original plan was to simply bling out the original living quarters and cockpit by adding a 'little extra detail'...well, best laid plans and all, sort of got out of hand! The rest of the interior is a mixture of 3d printing and good old fashioned scratch building. I have done a ton of other Swars related prints over at www.tanksandtrolls.co.uk/3D%20Prints.htm all done at a rough Legionish scale (1/50). lot of other Legion related stuff at www.tanksandtrolls.co.uk/otherfigurespage.htm (link at bottom of page)

    Just wondering, what is the scale for this ship (in leigon miniatures scale)

    • @JeroProductions
      @JeroProductions 5 лет назад

      not scale, size (length)

    • @Bulldogflatcap
      @Bulldogflatcap  5 лет назад +1

      Hi, Diagostini list it as 1/43 studio scale, slightly larger than the 1/48-1/50 Legion is supposed to be but to be honest it looks the correct size next to the miniatures and as we all know Hollywood scale is complete pants and tabletop scale concerning vehicles always looks much better if you scale them up slightly. For instance I printed Luke's speeder a while ago at the 'correct' scale...it looked ridiculous!! All the figures shown in and around are 99% legion. Also slightly bigger of course means more room to move things around in there!!

    • @Bulldogflatcap

      @@kelleyfong2510 figures are maybe ever so slightly bigger in theory but as you can see from the pictures close enough to work! perfect for my low standards anyhow!

    Such a shame that Star Wars is a shadow of its former glory days. It lessens the magic of even amazing models such as this one.
