Hi Drumeo, I am planning on buying my first drum set. I will mostly use it to record. Do you guys have any suggestions? No more than $3K. Rock/Hip/Hop style.

We love the Yamaha kits (Absolute Hybrid Maple, Live Oak Custom, Stage Custom Birch), anything that fits within your budget will be great. I'm not sure if your budget includes cymbals or not.

That was amazing. Why not 16th notes for the "coordination" exercise?

Would have preferred H and K for the hats and kick instead of lowercasing just because it makes more sense independently in my head.

Is the same for a left handed drummer? Or will be flip flop for a left handed drummer?

I understand these lessons are free and I normally like what Drumeo does especially with the guest instructors but these were the least practical (apart from maybe the last one if you play double bass) and obscure coordination exercises i've seen, why not teach left foot hi-hat time keeping or latin based foot ostinatos? Just seems really random and not at all practical. Sorry Drumeo.

I have been using this type of hi-hat placement in my drumming a lot lately. For developing coordination, these are great exercises. You can take the concepts and create your own variations to put within music if you find these patterns don't fit your musical tastes. - Jared

Dam, I don't wanna knock Drumeo, as I've gotten so much out of it, but there are just simple linear beats. Is this an intermediate lesson? This is the first time I watched one these vids, and got through it with nothing to work on. If the grooves sounded sick, I'd work on em, but just no reason (for me) maybe I'm being selfish, after a long day.
    sorry man

What type of lessons are you looking for? I'm sure not every lesson will meet your specific skill level or musical tastes. We have around 700 lessons on this channel and 3000 inside of Drumeo. Lots to choose from! - Jared

Drumeo Yeah, I understand each vid won't be for everyone. I'll take a groove I like, and learn or incorporate what I already know, and play it. Rather than focusing on the negative, I'll give you an example of a GREAT vid Jared did. For YEARS, I could never get the "Bonham triplets". Jared did a vid on "heel toe". I followed his direction, and worked on it for a good month straight. The feeling I got when I was playing to the vid at 100 bpm was AWSOME! (many, many more examples) If I could make a suggestion. Can you make a video on how to relax before a gig, or audition? I suffer from a social phobia, and play like garbage until I'm comfortable. Also, if you can find a drummer who's had back issues w/nerve damage, and has surgery in the lumbar area, maybe a vid on posture would be helpful. I know you guy's have some, but I was wondering if there's anything I can do to be more comfortable. That would also relax me faster.
Thanks, and my apologies for the criticism.

Thank you for the feedback. We are always listening and love to hear student feedback. We have some lessons on setup and comfort at the kit, but those are inside of Drumeo. I will keep your ideas in mind and hopefully we can get to them :)
