Taylor's Arm - the famous Pub With No Beer - inland from Macksville - across the road is a cricket ground for donation camping. Pub grub is great and it's a good base for exploring.
Hey guys, we are keen NSW campers and might have some places you’d like to visit. If you can’t find a place on the coast, head for the rivers. Safe travels.
Hi Enjoying your videos, there is no free camping on the coast between QLD and Sydney unless you go inland, I would recommend places like Alstonville Showground $30 per night about 10mis to Ballina area, Kempsey Showground $30 per night both are with power and water, showers and toilets. Bulladelah has a free camping area on the river. Once you pass Sydney there is a lot of free camping and low cost camping around the Blue Mountains and the South Coast. Enjoy your trip. If you want to bypass the tolls in Sydney and are under 12m follow this route M1 to Pennant Hills Road then turn right onto James Ruse Drive then turn left onto Cumberland this will take you to Liverpool continue onto Hume Highway which will connect you to the Motorway heading South. Recommend doing it after 10am and before 3pm. Hope this helps.
Thank you so much we are slowly making our way down the coast and your right going slightly inland is the key. we recently stayed in Coraki ($90 for 4 nights with power and water) and we’re heading to a free camp near Coopernook which looks really nice. Thanks for tips on going around Sydney to avoid the tolls we understand it is quite expensive 🤓
Hi guys, love your content, quick question, noticed you said, "More shifts at Woolworths", are you working while travelling?, we are about to head off ourselves and are interested in finding out how difficult it is to pick up casual shifts in such places? Cheers Les & Denise
Hello, yes we do work while we are travelling. I was full time at Woolworths and Allison was part time I reverted to casual and we try and pick up shifts as we’re travelling. We plan when and potentially where we might need to stop and work then hit up the stores in that area. It’s a little hard around town but the country stores are always looking for people
Love the northern New South Wales area as I grew up on the Gold Coast and always loved going on a day trip across the border. Do you think the free camps etc don't really exist due to everything being near the coastline and everyone just wants to make money? It's such a shame their aren't cheaper options in the Tweed to Coffs Harbour areas as even staying at the Hacienda caravan park in Tweed, just to get a site on the river is very expensive. Hard to get one mind you so i suppose they can charge what they want. I have to agree with Byron as we used to go there when I was a kid and we Stayed at the Globetrotters Caravan park which is now called something else, not sure. But I am talking 45 years ago and although Byron has changed cosmetically a little, It is pretty much the same town but yeah, a hell of a lot busier and PIZZA! Cheese before toppings lol. Each to their own I suppose. 🤣 Another great video T42A. Hope to see more as usual. 👌
Hello mate. I think you’re right I also think it boils down to the dollar, even some NSW public rest areas have signage requesting a donation to stay overnight. some van parks are asking over $100 a night which is a bit over the top. we’ve found some more economical options including a beautiful park in Coraki and as for the pizza I used to put the cheese on first. 🤓
No, all our batteries and solar panels were fitted by Accelerate and they gave me a T-shirt and a couple of stubbie holders. so from time to time that shirt makes its way to the top of the pile🤓
The big 4 van park we showed in the Episode at Skennars Head didn’t allow dogs but the two Reflections parks in Ballina do and where we are currently staying in Coraki definitely does and only coasts $90 for 4 nights with power and water
I think the influx of tourists and backpackers doing the traditional roadtrip from Sydney up the east coast has completely decimated any free or 'economical' camping options along this route :(
Yes, I totally agree there are heaps of people on the Northern coast. We’ve had a few tips from fellow travellers and subscribers about some cheaper options so we’ll follow them up over the next few weeks.
Hey Mick thanks for the tip, I’m fairly sure that was the episode when our mics crapped themselves. From memory we did apologise during the vid, hopefully you’ll notice an improvement in the future
Thanks for sharing your great experience around Australia, it’s amazing and relaxing
Thank you mate

Look for Showground camping. Mullumbimby, Tyalgum , Yamba McLean
Thank you I’ll check them out. A lot of people are suggesting Showgrounds as the more economical options.

I suppose free camping depends on how and where you want to camp.
Wiki camps NSW shows more than 100 free camps.
Just depends on where you want to be.
exactly mate, we meet so many people and everyone travels a different way.
I see u wearing a accelerate touring shirt. Did u work for them .. I had work just completed by them.😂

Thanks for highlighting these areas and information. Are any of these areas dog friendly?

Can you do something about getting a better mic as it's hard to hear what ya wife is sayin'
