Ahh...the late Bobby Hatfield. I was 15 yrs old when I heard him sing this beautiful song on the Andy Williams show in 1965. No one sang this song better than he did. RIP Bobby! We love and miss you. I'll be 74 yrs old this month and I still play your CD in my car. This was my deceased husband's song. I cry when I hear him sing this song!
Best live solo performance ever!! No auto tune, no re-takes, no gimmicks ... just pure God given talent, Known as blue eyed soul back in the day ...Don't make em like that anymore
❤💯 Your reaction says it all about Bobby Hatfield's incredible voice & the emotions he puts into his singing. The Righteous Brothers have amazing soulful voices & their library of music is large whether singing together or solo. Looking forward to hearing you react to many more of their songs. I liked the bio you show of them also.
@@soniathompsone9024 A couple recorded solos by Bobby Hatfield are "Ebbtide", "Stay With Me Baby" & he goes wild on "Summertime" but you must hear both of the Righteous Brothers. Bill Medley has the most soulful baritone voice. A couple well loved songs on black and white videos of them from the Shindig TV show are "You Lost That Loving Feeling" and "Soul and Inspiration". On the Ed Sullivan TV show video they sang an awesome version of "You'll Never Walk Alone". Bill Medley sings solo "Brown Eyed Woman" with the Blossoms singing back up on the TV show Playboy After Dark. He sings lead on the record "I Wanna Make Love To You". You can't get enough of the Righteous Brothers once you start hearing them. Enjoy the journey.
Best version hands down of this classic song. Absolutely loved the Righteous Brothers. Sadly we lost Bobby Hatfield about 20 years ago. He had a beautiful one of a kind voice. Home Free just did a great version of this song. And Austin Brown also did a very beautiful tribute of this song about a year ago.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Thank you for your very nice reaction. That film clip was from a Valentines Day Special on The Andy Williams Show, hence the pink attire. In the longer version the duo are talking with Andy for a minute ot two, and Bobby Hatfield is huffing and puffing, like he had just ran a 100 yard dash; he was suffering from an upper respiratory infection, a cold, bronchitis? The two stars had an agreement between them, that each of them would sing a solo song on every album; they both wanted to sing Unchained Melody very, very badly. They agreed to a coin toss to resolve the issue and, fortunately for both of them, Bobby won. Bobby also suffered from extreme stage fright and he would lose his lunch rather violently before each perfomance. On top of all of that, his mother was in the audience seeing him perform live for the first time and he was very worried about disappointing her. I'd says it's a fair bet that he did not disappoint her or any of the 70,000,000+ fans out in TV land. It was said that "his song" had a very ero ... well, I guess it's best to say that it made ladies of all ages feel extremely nice?
I was in my teens when this song was popular, And I got to say this song would (EXCUSE) the expression melt the Panty's off a nun. One of the best songs sung to this day for a romantic night.....
This is one of the greatest live performances EVER ! By anyone ! Lovely reaction. You might like “Country Roads” by (Country music legend) John Denver.
I sang this to my wife at our wedding in 1983. She, however she said I murdered it. I'm guessing it's not a song for a baritone, she told me I was of better sticking to my drumming. I thought it was an appropriate song as I was in the Royal Marine Commandos, I had returned from the war for the Falkland Islands when I proposed, and now was shipping out to Sierra Leone two days later, so much for my attempt at being romantic. On the upside she liked me in my Dress Uniform, and having my comrades forming the sword tunnel helped. I must have done something right because we're still together. With 4 children, 7 grandchildren and a great grandson, we got busy on baby's when I was home. I served on active duty for my late Queen and Country for 34 years as a Royal Marine Commandos and in the British Special Forces, and then 3 years in hospital, and she stuck by me even though I'm wheelchair bound now. We do actually have a song by Queen called "Your Me Best Friend", a very apt song as she has been my best friend since we were both 15, and that's when I fell for her.
I❤ the reaction, hell yeah 😊, I am I straight dude, cause that's what I was told. From my parents. Anyway that was a joke, sorry I have a Sense of humor. Just saying that this song brings me joy and tears Everytime. ❤ It and still straight.😊
Hard to believe from watching this that Bobby threw up before these performances from stage fright. Sadly Bobby died from cocaine abuse but he always managed to pull himself together to perform for us
@@algospelcouple9788 And, this character cuts and pastes the same nonsense on all over the place. Internet gossip can't be trusted. Bobby needed by-pass surgery. Wish he had the surgery; maybe he would still be with us.
A breathtaking performance by a superb counter tenor. Bobby at his finest!
I think this song could get tears from a lump of salt.

The 1965 Live performance on The Andy Williams Show. No Autotune. No filters. Just his Voice, and Orchestra, and a 1965 microphone.
