I'm 69 now & only started watching RUclips 2 yrs ago. Had no idea about the resources such as your channel. Watching you & your mom work together on your house reminded me of years gone by. My mom, sister & I would take one day in each other's house to do a thorough clean about every couple months. Good times! Mom's been gone 13 yes now, my sister & I live 300 miles apart now. Enjoy & cherish these days, they're sweet memories when you're my age.

I go through our pens markers and crayons, color pencils frequently to keep the good ones and throw out the bad ones.

I just cleaned out two small junk drawers last night. I tested every pen, marker, and every pencil that was without eraser was thrown away. I tutor and my little ones erase a lot and the erasers you add to top don’t last with little ones either. Wonderful video. My daughter and I laugh so much when we are together! Heartwarming!

Kids art is great to use for Grandparents presents at Christmas, that's what I did with all the kids pre-school art, the family love this.

This makes me miss my mom so much. I just wish for another minute with her. Even sorting a drawer or folding laundry. It’s the “little things” that I miss.
Adding little bins to my junk drawer helped keep little things like batteries from rolling around. I tackled my medicine cabinet a couple weeks ago and had meds that expired a decade ago 🤦🏻♀️. So sweet for your mom to help 🥰

One idea ive seen and have started to do myself is to take a picture of art from the kids and scrapbook it.

I think most ppl have a junk drawer, and call it junk drawer, it fine. I use the smallest drawer in the kitchen and only use one. It doesn’t get too junkie, because it’s small I go through it more often.

I use my drawer for all of my food wraps (foil, plastic, press n seal, parchment, wax) and ziploc bags and bag clips and twist ties. It works perfectly for me! Love this video! I’m here for the decluttering and organizing! Love seeing things simple and organized! I love your Mom!

Keep batteries in the original packaging if possible. Storing batteries sealed in their packaging ensures that they remain protected from environmental factors such as humidity. It also ensures that you do not confuse new, fully charged batteries with older ones, and it prevents the terminals from coming into contact with other metals.

So good to have you back. If you have broken pen magic markers that don't work and pencils that are broken just throw them away plesae. But if you have crayons that are all shapes and sizes yes put them in the yard sale bag many people will buy them I melt them down to make other crayons or to make candles (im very old school).

Things that I put up top or in high cabinets are not always use items but we want to keep or use. I agree with you completely! The crayons and markers - yes. When it gets close to holidays they use cookie cutters and make rainbow crayons or lip gloss with coconut oil. If we don't use they in 6 months - they are goners. Markers, if you pull the tip off you can hydrate it, if not toss! I love new markers and crayon so I have no issue garage saling, donating, or tossing.

I just moved into a new apartment that I had built on to my existing house because I am alone and don’t need all that space anymore. I downsized to less than 1/3 rd of the space and got rid of a lot of stuff, but still have a little more than I need… does that ever change? Lol
When I did my first round of decluttering. I only finished a part of the house and the garage sale brought in over $600 on mostly smaller items. Was shocking to see how much we had. We are now starting a garage sale pile for spring which will likely be a much larger sale as I add to it daily as I continue to declutter.
You and your Mom remind me of how my Mom and I used to be with each other before she passed last year. We would ‘cry-laugh’ with each other and often didn’t need to elaborate on things because we were both thinking and often laughing about things the same thing. Please hug, luv and cherish your Mom while you have her - the sudden loss of mine has been devastating to me and I just miss her so much every day.

Maybe for the junk drawers you could get the clear acrylic compartmentilized organizers that way nothing else can fit in the drawer that’s extra.

I love all your videos. I look forward to every time you post love love love everything looks so great the dreaded drunk drawer. Turned out to be a very nice snack drawer good idea. that is my problem. I cannot figure out how to organize stuff and make it last like what is the best way to configure all my stuff it is so frustrating
small houses with very little storage can be a challenge. I feel like the more places I create to store items, the more clutter I keep. If I have less hiding places, I keep my inventory low. It's so easy to accumulate stuff but difficult to maintain.
I like the video a lot because it motivated me. Someone with me decluttering will distract me...And I think you are so chaotic and it looks like you don't know what are you doing...
Well and I have found it to be helpful to keep really high quality art, I take pics and store in my email - all of it. Things that are on canvas of heavy duty paper that I can frame and put on there wall or advertise to sell if they want to make$$ I keep.
This video actually made me cry. This is exactly how my mom and I are when we're together. I live half way around the world from my mom right now. I miss her so much 😭
As women I think that we have certain things that we have a lot of and when we go and declutter these things within a month or two we are going back and buying the same thing so one of the things that I do is I have a do not buy list and what I do is I keep one on my refrigerator and I keep one in my purse and what I do is say for instance I get rid of a lot of coffee mugs that I collect I find myself going back into the store and purchasing one or two more and before you know it you have clutter again so I will put on that list do not buy mugs or maybe it's candles or maybe it's toys or whatever the case maybe I will make sure that I have that list with me so that I am not tempted to buy on that list what I don't need to buy and then when you find yourself de cluttering at the end of the year or twice a year you don't have hardly anything to declutter that's just my little hack but I do that it keeps me motivated and keeps me mindful and accountable of things I don't need or Rebuy
When I declutter I get three of the tall plastic black trash cans then I will mark one keep the other one will be trash and the other one will be donate and I have them in a row in each room and then I put in those accordingly and then that way when I have filled up all of them I will take them immediately to the garage and take them off except for the keep pile that way I don't have to think about it and procrastinate on taking the things off to the trash or to the donate Goodwill our veterans is where I normally take my donations too. Also if you still have more things that need to go in those trash bins from the room I just empty them out in the garage in big garbage bags and then I will take and keep filling those until I am done in each individual room
