It's crazy because 50 cent's get rich or die trying went diamond and he ain't even mention it
It’s 9 times platinum. Won’t be long
What about cater 3? 15 million sold
Exactly
cause it didn't go diamond. It has to sell 10 mil in the US alone.
he didnt have to
You gotta give it to Lauren Hill. She's the only woman that did it off her debut album and ain't dropped nothing else.
She ain’t write that shit
@@AlmightyEvil1 She sung it tho. Nobody else could have sang them songs. Stop being a hater. Singers ain't gotta write and produce.
Nelly yo I think
It was the label she was on. It's been talked about on Nas new song with Lauryn Hill. It's called Nobody.
@@AlmightyEvil1what? She wrote the whole album. One of the reasons why she has so much respect in the hip hop scene is because she is known for writing her own songs.
Shout out to Lauryn Hill for making an undeniable classic on her first and only attempt.
i swear there are no bad moments on that album
so fucking amazing
I’m 40 and I can say I lived through all the albums
me too, what i dont understand is how Lauren Hyll went diamond. I dont remember any promo nor anyone talking about that album.
@@floggyWM1 those numbers included global sales ....Lauren Hill is HUGE both here during the 90s and also in Africa and Europe. You can still find her music on bill board spots over seas
@@stephendasher8991 Im pretty sure those numbers were US only, cuz internationally 50 been diamond, but not in US only
That’s what I was thinking. My high school and college days were all during the greatest years of hip hop. This lost proves it. And i LOVED it

Em and Tupac something else they in there own league fr

That white boy ain't nowhere near Tupac level.. Tupac was dead at 25,, so we talking about a 25 year old Tupac compared to a 50 year old Eminem. Eminem has made music for the last 25 years and he still can't see Tupac.

VERY SPECIAL
It was the worst outkast album ever made.

The fact that a collection of 2Pac's greatest hits smashed the sales records for 90% of every rapper that came after him is truly a testament to the fact that 2Pac is rap's greatest artist.
Biggie better

Whenever I hear "Can't Touch This," my body immediately moves on its own.

Lol I know right
Naw real shit 😂😂
On gawd
And this is when u had to go out and buy the CD!! Man this list is nuts

All these albums are weak except 2😂

@Hero how are you giving an opinion nobody asked for goofy? Idc if the music was weak or not it still don't change the fact that they sold millions in the Era where u literally had to go out and buy the CD. Tf does it being weak have to do with anything I said
No matter what people think of Hammer. He was the 1st rapper to sell 10 million. That was before they even started awarding diamond plaques.
Beastie Boys in 1986 and 1987. Hammer's album was 1990.
@@Nick_Naim License To Ill sold 10 million over time, but Please Hammer Don't Hurt Em got to 10 million 1st.

the beastie boys sold more than him
Beastie Boys was out before hammer was.
That "Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" was one of most amazing albums to come out. When she was with the Fugees she stood out, and when she did that solo I listened to on repeat for the next year.
Outkast legit took over the radios in 2003-04.
Yup the TV stations

two of the best in hip hop but they bootlegs them real bad

No he just have to die..unfortunately....
He didnt go diamond while he was alive
Neither did Biggie, Beastie Boys, Lauryn Hill or Outkast
@@Football101s same with eminem, have u heard his albums that went diamond
A hits album is technically a gimmick
Not pacs fault obviously it was the studio that dropped it
Same with em, I wouldn't really count curtain call since its just a compilation with 3 new songs
Every rapper had gimmicks. His gimmick was "Thug Life" and the gangsta aesthetic. This was in the same vein or blaxploitation where the often most degrading parts of the culture would otherwise be seen as less than.
Don't O' Holier than Thou when it comes to your favorite artist.
This is why I feel a certain way when I hear Eminem slander. I'm like every artist you mentioned on your list before him hasn't done this.
it's cause anything released post 2005 is largely forgettable or not great - sobering up changed his delivery quite a bit for some reason. but 1999-2002 eminem is easily the greatest rapper ever. so for me I always thought of the OG em and the relapse-now eminem as two different rappers. there's something also fundamentally less cool about em now. i'm sure he could care less and is glad he sobered up.
@@dylanwatt7461 its just his passion for rap i like to think, he isnt too bothered about how well a record does or the criticism it gets, only when people disregard his preior legacy, that leads to kamikaze type shit. He came into the game with that burning strive to make it and escape his hardships, he got what he wanted, and now continues for his own enjoyment. Thats how i see it at least
i personally just don’t like him that much, his delivery comes off really corny, all of his old songs are overplayed, which is obviously a show that it’s good, but still overplayed, and he continues to get worse with every passing year. oh and the only reason he has managed to accomplish such heights has a lot to do with skin color more than anything.
@@smile4cs if hes big bcos hes white, tell me why theres no other white rappers with a name even close to his.

You would never really know how many they really sold, I know in Australia they sold close to a million copies or units of 2Pacs “All eyes on me” album by 2010, and I’m thinking the word would have bought a lot more than 10,000,000 copies & we’re did that money go..Need more transparency… Peace out ..
much love to everyone ❤❤
The money goes to the companies that own the label
Those certifications are for sales in the US anyway so it wouldn’t matter what they sold elsewhere..these are ppl that had 10M+ albums shipped in the United states
the money would be with death row my guy, its not that deep. Label the artist is signed to takes the profits and gives back to the artist who made them, since 2pac unfortunately passed his sum of the profit stays with the label
That’s crazy some artists put out 4 or 5 albums maybe more and can barely go gold once or twice let alone platinum or 💎 and Em out here w/ his greatest hits 💿 going 💎‼️. 😮🤯🤩
Lauren..
Greatest female hip hop artist all time frfr
She was trash, and a racist. “I’d rather see my children starve to death before I see a white person buy my album.” That Miseducation album wasn’t even close to a rap album. It was a pop album, and two of three of the songs in there were in movies, or promoted like crack in the streets. The genius behind the fingers was Wyclef.
my childhood in a playlist tho..
The most impressive part is that at the time that many of these albums were dropped, digital sales and streaming didn't even really exist. These are PHYSICAL SALES. That's 10s of millions of people buying a copy of a pressed disc. These days one person might have several downloadsof an album to different devices thereby inflating the numbers of actual people who own a copy of said album.
Em and Pac will forever be legends in hip-hop.
PS.... Nelly was looking kinda out of place on that list imo😂
Em legend? Your statement is questionable ok
All eyes on me was a double CD @ $25 a pop..... where did all Tupac money go
Cost the most money and sold the most copies.. Tupac the only one to do that..
