An update on Motorcycle Mastery: Tbh, I didn’t realize how tough this would be. It’s equivalent to scripting, filming, and editing a year’s worth of RUclips videos in just 1.5 months, while building a website, learning new software, and still uploading twice a week… its nuts! 😂 But I’m still pushing hard for a March release. I’ll keep you guys updated-grab the guide for now! www.motorcyclemastery.com
I have a sportster 1200 and a 2022 RSV4. I enjoy riding both for different reasons. To each his own -kinda get sick of motorcycle RUclipsrs telling me what to like and what to do.
I dunno fam. I got a bike because there's no way in hell I can afford a car this fast. Performance and speed, plain and simple.
Some good motorcycle movies:
1: Silver Dream Racer-1980.
2: Knightriders-1982.
3: Time Rider, The Adventures of Lyle Swann-1982.
I love the way you discuss the philosophical side to riding
Thank you. Most content creators talk only about building skill (cornering, counter steer, throttle, etc) but motorcycle riding is so much more than just skill.. there is a lot of mindset involved and that’s what I’m trying to convey in this episode. It’s not about pushing smaller bikes but about how to manage oneself regardless of what bike you ride.
Im 50 and I have a 2023 RSV4 and I have a Daytona 2016 675r, I believe it all comes to maturity. I do trackdays to get out the need to do 150 all the time, but because i do trackdays i may go 90 and it doesnt even seem fast anymore. What i mean is the skill and perception of speed has changed along with my reflexes. I would be cruising with one hand thinking im only going with the traffic and I look down and im at 90 there is no rush of adrenaline though just relaxed. My RSV4 gives a different feel than my 600. My 600 is fun on tight roads or smaller tracks. My liter bike has never been about going all out all the times but the enjoyment of it. Guys buy expensive sports cars but never open them up, it's about fun, feel and maturity.
100% agree.. the sense of speed goes down after going really fast. On the street though.. I keep reminding myself to have self control.. like all of us.. sometimes I lose lol.. 😝
Great video man! Love your bike. I have a 09 Ninja zx6r.
Mitojitso in his recent review of zx6r said : If you think any 600 four cylinder bike is not fast enough then you don’t know what you are talking about 😅😅😅
I have a slow Duke 390 myself at the age of 47 with 27 yrs of motorcycle riding in my back… tnx for the video👍🏼
If an 1100 rSV4 is like a Bugatti chyron.. than a 600 is like a 600-700HP lambo super car. Plenty of videos of 600’s crushing super cars on RUclips.. I’m in agreement.. I don’t feel bad about my ‘downgrade’ lol
PS: legend for riding a 390 with that much experience.
Cruise control is pretty good for controlling your speed. Lol. I only start riding a bit crazy when the cruise is off. Lollololol.
I was definitely following you for rsv4 content but ive come the the conclusion that motorcycles are just an emotional thing and get what you want out of it.
That being said i live in central Florida and sense we dont have any real twisty roads 400s and under board me to death. Sooooooo ya ill agree im adicted to hp. Thanks for posting.
A quick Google search: floridatrackdays.com/
i can not afford fast cars. so i just bought a hornet 600....i enjoy the rush of straigh acceleration.....im happy enough with that
I do love a good dopamine hit, but after owning the biggest hitters they make (Aprilia Tuono 1100, ZX14R SE, ect), and not being able to ever use that power on the street, I'm much more impressed with torque off the bottom and through the midrange. If you're shifting above 7,500 RPM on the street, you're probably not doing it right, or taking unnecessary risks. That said, handling is fun, taking turns is fun, and as I get older a comfortable riding position and just being out in the air is fun, plus I like when it sounds and looks good, stimulating all the senses. Pride of ownership is a thing, and if your bike looks awesome to you, then that's important and valid too. Incidentally, I currently ride a Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC with ONLY 89hp, and the thing rips! It pulls harder than my Tuono up to 7,500 rpm. So not all power delivery is the same, the area under the curve is important and I'd say even more so, than the peaks.
Got that same thingy thang, boy
I'm 64 and I have a 1200 Vmax and a zx12r ninja For me it's all about the torque Not the speed 😊
I most definitely never ride my 1200 Speed Triple RS to the limit ;-) Do I enjoy riding it - shit yes, it's amazing. I only ever ride in mountain twisties - it's my favourite past time working on improving my skills: line choice, cornering, trail braking etc. I never ever chase high speed on the high way. Zero interest. But saying that power makes up fro skill makes no sense to me - didn't understand that part of the video.
One of the downsides of the Speed Triple (for me) is that I really can't open it up fully coming out of a corner, like I can on my Scrambler (also a 1200, but only about 100 BHP). On the scrambler I can open up the throttle and still not get to the next corner too fast, just in time to brake and do it all over again. It's heaps fun.
The Tripple definitely taught me a lot - respect for power and throttle control.
I want a 600class super sport that has heated grips, cruise control, semi active electronic suspension, brembos, and high quality build finish (call me vain, but I am an old fuck ;-)) . Money isn't really a big deal, but there aren't any such bikes around. I'm forced to go to a litre bike if I want the latest tech and spec.
Maybe the new Aprillia RS660 factory could be a go? So very close to pulling the trigger on a new S1k RR though.
everytime i pull on the gas on my suzuki rf900r its insane still shit in my pants everytime lol
How do you rate this ZX 6 vs all you have ridden. Seems this zx6 is perfect use the gearbox on street vs liter bike .1st gear 100 mph. Doesn't seem fun 1-2 gears .want to use atleast 3-4 gears on street .want to shift rev out a ninja 400 seems good too . 🥂
The desire for power and control is a human survival characteristics. Keep it real though; smaller cc bikes compete in a different class than Litre bikes for a reason. It is an addiction and every time you push the limit, including cornering, you feed the addiction. Good to know, but I'm still keeping my 750. I'm 65 and still enjoy the rush. I can't afford track time. I don't get scared. That's a problem. When I quit riding for three decades, I missed cruising at reasonable speeds more than I missed ripping. Funny that.
Human survival?? Control and power like POTUS? I'm talking about motorcycle HP addiction. For clarity.. please explain what you mean.
@PetroHead Why you like that power, it's in your genes.
This season I''ll buy buy a ZX-6R 2025 as my second bike next to my beloved CBR 125 JC34 and I don't want a bigger capacity. In my opinion, 1000 is only cool if we want to ride on the track, which in my country (Poland) there are very few of.
bro bugati cost more than my fuckning family will ever earn in life time dont compare cars :D (i ride 70cc 2 stroke super moto screams 14k rpm top speed 110kmh 70mph weigts around 80kg 180 pounds fun as fuck power is on off i havent driven since winter and today tested it and o boy it felt fast bcz it accelerates so fast 0-30
Ya that’s what I mean… when you take some time off from riding crazy, it will feel a lot faster. Now the challenge becomes controlling yourself so you’re not on it 100% of the time.
I was on Reddit the other day and some kid was wanting some opinions on if or how long after you bought ur ninja 500 did u grow out of it or get bored of the power? Man these kids out here don’t understand and really take the time to learn how to ride the fundamentals of riding and everything that goes into it a lot of them don’t push their ego to the side like they should and go ahead and get that super sport for their first bike and they end up becoming a statistic I basically explained like if ur getting bored of it after a couple months then u are riding for the wrong reasons because I’ve had myn for under a year and I’m still having as much fun as I did the day I took it off the lot. And mind u this isn’t my first bike. I wish they would put their thoughts about what others are going to think and stuff to the side because there’s so much more than just going in a straight line all the time and going for that top speed all the time like u we’re saying nice video mate cheers
There’s advocating for learning and courses, and then there’s jealousy and paternal gate-keeping. If you aggressively push people, they won’t respond well regardless of your good intentions.
@ bro what plz re explain what ur trying to say.
@Qrides The hope with these videos is a mindset shift.. not really trying to convince anyone to buy small bikes. You can have a liter bike but ride sensibly too... a very small percentage do that. However, power is addictive and being sensible is short lived for some riders.
@@PetroHead no yea I totally agree bro I can’t wait to get my 636 and I’ve decided on the krt! But yea man I’ll be keeping my 500 for forever. These smaller cc bikes are so forgiving and u can make more mistakes on them now on a super sport u really haft to be on ur game. Plus I love how on say ninja 400/500 r3 u can really ring the piss out of them without reallly breaking the law I just wish it had more top end power for the highway but for me I live in a small country town so most of my riding is curvy backroads so the smaller cc bikes are a hell of a lot of fun.
@@PetroHead most people start on small bikes, there are a few that don’t and among them are a number of people that are ill suited to start on them. Your take on people that have experience and aren’t sensible or responsible with owning a liter bike is unfounded and I’d say wrong, there’s no evidence at all to that.
Newsflash: It’s not a problem, it a preference. shocking
It's a preference because its become a problem. No one purchases a motorcycle going WOT out of the showroom floor. Addiction happens gradually by using all of a bikes power in a short amount of time and this is why people upgrade to a bigger bike 3 months later.
@ that’s their choice. Who are we to dictate how others enjoy their hobbies and their life?
I agree. I'm not denying people a choice.

At the current moment, I don't make enough to hire any professionals. Maybe one day. Most of us are a one man band. I enjoy the process.. When the course is complete, I'll have time to relax mentally. (I work best under pressure)
