Thanks. I'm a sportswriter in the Bay Area and one our local kids who committed to UCLA has been said to throw 98. I bought this radar gun to verify and track other standout pitchers in the area. :) And, when I'm bored, I may track how fast people drive down my street and yell at them to slow down. lol
Yeah, this thing is remarkably accurate and fun to use! Just don't try it on yourself throwing a ball. You will be very disappointed by how slow you are compared to how fast you think you can throw! I was. I barely cracked 50mph, thinking I should be able to do at least 70!
Is it consistent and accurate most of the time with high schoolers and older? There’s been mixed reviews about the Bushnell, which I’ve been eyeing on it for a few hours
Great question! I should have talked about that in the video. No, you need to see the ball along the same direction it's traveling or the speed will be lower by the cosine of the angle you're off-axis by. This is the same reason a police car can't measure your speed accurately from broad-side. They have to be in front or behind you!

I'm going to order one. I want to see how fast trains go
can you please help me i broke mine and a piece inside is chipped pls reach out to me i need help
Is it possible to use hands free i.e. if training by yourself?
No, you have to push the button to start measuring with the unit the way it is, so I don't think you can throw monitor yourself easily.
I actually found if you tie a string on the trigger you can use it yourself
Hello Sir, can you measure from the side? Like when the ball cross home plate.

Ok... good to know. I have a pitching machine, just trying to see how fast the ball is when it reach my son... Thanks.

great video , new subscriber
Does the screen have led? (Does the back display light up so i can see speeds in the dark?)
No, it's just an LCD, so you won't see it well in the dark. It wouldn't be hard to add an LED to it, though.
