I set up the net playz and the pocket radar ball coach in a batting cage and set the machine to 70. They both read the same every time. I returned the pocket radar the next day. I paid $40 for netplayz and $300 for pocket radar.
I tinkered with the set up like you’re doing for hours a few days a week trying to get the best readings. Taking it to the batting cage where the ball comes out the same speed consistently is the best way I’ve found. For the price I just need it to tell me if am I going forward or backwards when I am trying to find the best way I can pitch. It can definitely do that. I am more than happy with the purchase. Also, adding a few Duracell rechargeable batteries, solves any energy issues.
I used it behind a net like the red one you have up in the air in the background. Seemed to be the best angle for it to read. Readings I got with it were almost the same as when my travel coach pulled out his Jugs radar and my college coach using a Stalker. Obviously not the same day so can't say it's fully accurate, but it's close enough so that if I threw 80 into it I'd know I'm around that area.
@@TheRoadLessChoseni do not know if you noticed, but netplayz is not straight forward but on the angle. Robby was measuring more up with this high stand.
i tried to set it up a bit higher since my throws were intended to be around the chest area if i was playing catch. I'll do a bullpen with it as well to see where the best setup for that is.

The real question is did you use my Pocket Radar discount code "robby" lol
lol no. There wasn’t an option for it on Amazon prime. Free returns bud 😂

What one and where did you get it for $40

For sure! That's the same findings i'm getting as well! As long as you know how to set it up to get the most accurate readings i'd say it's a steal!
I enjoy the fact you’re the only one that actually compared it to a genuine radar system.
Do you have a recommendation for bowling? The speeds are usually under 20mph so if the reading is off by 3mph that’s a big difference.
I would go with Pocket Radar on that one.
Thank you, any update after some more use?
Would be helpful to see how it correlates to varying speeds. All the throws were in the 40s. Let’s see 50-80 and see if it holds up ok.
Yeah for sure! I'll be doing more content on it. just wanted to get the first test run in to get some feedback now we go.
We have this radar gun and always we have concern about if it's marking good numbers or it's just lie
I would like to see you compare the 2 guns with a volleyball to see if a larger object would be more accurate
Thank you for this review, sounds great for the price!
Hey Robby I have the netplayz radar gun and it actually works better if you put it behind you when you throw.
Word??! Good looks i'll give it a shot! Much love!
Make a video when you do bullpen. Also try all angles you could do. Im planning to buy this if its accurate since i couldn't afford pocket radar
I have the NetPlayz radar gun also. But it's the gun shape, and it's about 12-15 mph off. 😂
You saw it consistently off by that much? how close was the baseball to the radar when you did it?
@@robbyrow pretty close
@@robbyrow and yeah, every pitch it was off
you should put it closer to ground. Yours is to high set up.I have bushnell hand radar and both are showing same results.
So closer to the ground is more accurate

Cool thanks man 😎
