Awesome video mate. I am in the early stages of my acting career. I have been selectively saying YES to just about any project that comes my way. I find it's a great opportunity to hone ones acting skills outside of the classroom. Also, its a great way to network and meet new people, learn new things like stage combat, stage reading, the behind the scenes of how things work and most of all finding out what types of plays, tv, film or commercials one likes or doesn't like. Based on this I had to say NO/ decline a couple of projects that I didn't feel "joy" or that I would have "FUN" doing. That to me is important as well. I've got to have fun or feel excited about the project in order to let myself "go" and do what I do best. Thanks for creating this channel and Stagemilk. I just subscribed to all your social media platformds. I will be watching, talking to, listening and learning all I can from you. Cheers Mate.

That’s a really great approach and as I mentioned just always making sure it’s a legitimate and safe environment is the main consideration. Love as well the emphasis on fun - acting should be a joy and if people are creating an environment where that is not the case it’s unfortunate. Thanks for all the support!

I was told the same things you said. My first role was actually three in an adaptation of Mary Queen of Scots at my university

Great video! Do you have any advice for HOW to say no to a role, Andrew? I’ve found that one of the most challenging things in my career journey.

That is a great question. I think just always keeping it professional most people are very understanding. Another reason why having an agent helps as they can deal with that side of things.

Hey! I would just begin with a local class or working on scenes and monologues in your own time. No rush when you are still young! To the second aspect of your comment - we are working in a more and more inclusive industry that has space for everyone. Every voice is unique and that is a great thing!
