  • BrassFill is our most difficult formulation yet. We’ve had to experiment a lot with the formulation to find the balance between not too brittle and not too soft.
The material is still in beta, which means we’re still working on the formulation to get the best possible performance. Our current formulation is providing excellent results on 1.75mm direct drive printers, such as the Makerbot Replicator 2 and Prusa I3.
The filament is slightly softer then bronzeFill and copperFill, users need to be careful with applying pressure onto the filament. We’ve found that 3D printers using a bowden tube set-up and 2.85mm filament gives the least reliable results. Users need to take extra care of not over stressing the filament, with pressure and retraction settings.
Like copperFill and bronzeFill the brassFill filament can be post processed to get a lovely golden shine.

Funny that you state it is the least reliable with bowden and 2.85 yet you show the print on an Ultimaker2 !
    Kind regards, Guy

Hi Guy, we precisely used the Ultimaker 2 with bowden tube to show it is possible with the right settings.

Hi guys just to let you know Brassfill doesn't work with an Wanhao Duplicator i3 V2. Iv tried everything, all temperatures even hand fed the filament through.
The material is too soft and the extruder cogs will not grip the filament reliably, and it fails after about an hour. Iv opened this up and you can see the cogs have scrapped the filament to bits and just jams. I had to send my spool back to the shop and request Bronzefill.

I have recently purchased this filament and it is extremely brittle. I can't even get it to unroll from my hot end without it breaking off and jamming my extruder. are there any tips with getting it to work? At this point I can't even get it straight enough to go in to the hot end.

Hi, that's very unfortunate to hear. We've seen your support ticket just now as well, we'll make sure to help out any way we can.

0:36, AAAAAAHHHHH!!!!! KILL IT WITH FIRE
also, these guys maybe make the best filament out there but they put the first object on the side to print wish is really not the best thing to do.
however still a really great vid (:

+wybowXD It totally wouldn't have looked cool at all if it was printed backside down though :)
