Mad Hatter
Bring your food scraps to those birds?
The stuff you just throw away.
They might repay you by showing you where to look?
If you believe in reincarnation.....then MAYBE all you pay forward comes back to you in your next life.
The HINDUS say that the chance of being reincarnated as a HUMAN BEING
is the same chance as a sea turtle bobbing up it's head up into a life preserver.
I guess we will find out!
Then, supposedly the HINDUS say, once you have reached "enlightenment" you don't have to come back to this world again....to live ANY life and all!
With all it's sufferings over and over again as a snail or a bird or a frog or a monkey.
YOU ARE OFFICIALLY OFF THE WHEEL OF REINCARNATION
and live in Nirvana forever?
Once you have achieved enlightenment as a human.
Very different from Christianity or Judaism.
Christianity you go to heaven if you are good.
Judaism....Just one life...no hell no haven.
Thanks Si, I can't understand how I missed this super video! There's always a special camaraderie between you and Sean. The grotesque was interesting and all the other great finds. I've been to Chelmsford Cathedral a few times! x
You could call your grotesque Cyclops, but spell it Siclops as he has one eye and he belongs to you.
Another great video, always fascinating to watch!
Ha! 'Siclops'!😄
I love it!! Yes….👏🏼👏🏼😂
Brilliant!
@@Sifinds thanks! Best wishes from Ireland, hope all is well with you and the two beautiful cats. 😊
Sean has his shirt on. Sensible.
That stone head is just mind blowing! You guys are so lucky to be able find such strange and wonderful things from long ago. Thanks for the journey!
We are! Cheers Mudlover!
I am telling you that I really needed this delightful distraction today. It’s been rough! From Tennessee USA
Same. Took me 3 times to get through the entire video. Very somber around my house in Portland Oregon

Ahh your grotesque was amazing! Love em! Your very skilled to see the image in a block of old root wood!
Thanks Ash (It was a melted bottle - cool huh)
@@Sifinds oh it was?! Holy heck! Looks like wood! Even more amazing!
Si, you are so talented. I would love to see more of your creations.
Leeches are still use, particularly in post trauma surgery like amputation reattachment. They are kept in a very specific and sterile fashion.
Yes I have learned that as well. Apparently leeches are very good when doctors are doing skin grafts, they are placed very precisely, any infection that is developing is drained by the leeches and they draw blood which in turn heals the skin graft.
@@marthaanderson2656 so interesting!
Also, maggots are used in fighting infected wounds where you can`t use antibiotics.
They only eat the dead tissue of the wound and leaves the rest, so as to help your body to heal up faster without having to fight an lethal infection as well.
Kreepy, but cool. 😳👍
I was going to comment the same thing. I’m a nurse and I’ve seen them used in the ICU. ☺️
Medical maggots or maggot therapy is still used for wound cleaning, you just can't beat nature sometimes 😋
Si, I do think you are one of the most delightful, inventive, interesting persons I have ever had the pleasure to find on RUclips and I hope you continue to intrigue us with your wonderful finds! I thought Hilton the Hideous would be a good name for your protector grotesque. Cheers and I will continue to watch and be entertained! Your sort of mum-from-the-States, Jacki
@@jackicser6823 aw thanks so much Jacki! I’d like an American Mom! 🇺🇸
I so love seeing Daisy n Nelly. Some wonderful finds, especially the marble n necklace. The upcycle was amazing too Si. Keep safe.
I think the 'picture frame' thing is the surround for a victorian hand mirror, which would have been part of a matching set with a brush and comb. I think this because I have a set similar.
@@cynthiaberry3553 Cool!!
Si, your talent never ceases to amaze me!!!!!! Please tell Sean congratulations on his awesome grotesque find!!!! ❤
Cheers Lark - i will!
Fun fact, leeches are still used in modern medicine, there is a farm in Wales that supplies 60,000 medicinal leeches to the NHS and other healthcare providers every year.
I was going to say the same thing! they use them to eat away dead skin and infected skin all over the world.
😮 WHAT???
@@terrylschumacher-levy5150 Leeches, Terry, medical grade leeches.
coooooooool.....!
Fun video! I love how your cat likes to respond when you talk to him. Your cats are beautiful. 🌵🐕🇺🇸
Thanks matey👍🏻🐾🧡
Leeches are still used during operations, when someone has limpamputated in an accident, the leeches keep the arteries /blood vessels clean and the success-rate of the operation to rejoin the limp goes up.
Really fun video to watch, some historical facts and really creative at the end
Watching from Mexico
That stone head find was fab and your created one as well. Love your cats!
@@restlesssoul5853 Cheers Mudlover👍🏻🐾🧡
When i was nursing we used leeches and maggots . The leeches were used when fingers or toes were reattatched to establish blood flow. Leeches secrete an anti clotting agent when they attatch and its this that they are primarily used for but also if the blood is pooling and unable to return to the main circularity system. I didnt mind the leeches so much , but the maggots turned my stomach. They were used when there was necrotic or desiccated tissue needed to be removed but was either too superficial or surrounding specialist tissue like nerves. The maggots only ate the dead tissue.
Also a nurse. The maggots l see are uninvited, but clean the wound none the less. The wounds are usually smelly due to infection, but when you get the dirty dressing off and clean up,it's so satisfying.
Some species apparently eat healthy tissue, which is another reason to control their use
Very interesting thanks!!
Its funny how you get themes of the day .. all your kitchen equipment, hilarious ... and I reckon today was also warding off evil spirits items, finding the evil eye, and a grotesque 😮 (which I think were for that purpose) ... love the lark and the upcycle. Thanks Si and Sean. ❤
You & Sean = fun & hilarious. Can't for y'all to go gold panning!
Hi Nelly & Daisy. I vote for Mr. Muddy Boggs
Thank you Sean for wearing your life jacket this time it only takes a second for tragedy to happen, no matter how experienced you are

Yes we are. Cheers Mudlover👍🏻🐾🧡
Very impressed that you both have kayaks. Good job Si and Sean
Another fabulous art piece! You you bringing mudlarking to a whole new level! ❤ ❤🇺🇸
Clever Si you've done it again. A very spooky man. Love all your craft work. From a "crafty" 80 Yr lady in her box room full of fabric & bits n bobs 😊❤
As a child, it aggravated me to get glass marbles because they weren't agate. Now I you admire them and laugh a little.
You can make very nice wind chimes with the old cutlery.
Even the ones that are plate have a wonderful sound. You flatten the spoons and can hang them from a flattened fork whose tines curled like hooks. Drill a few holes in the handles to be suspended with fishing line.
I have one and it has a very pleasant sound.
Great episode as always. I miss home so it's great to hear you two messing about. Your Grotesque is awesome too !❤
I thought he looked like a fosilized fox........so the fox pirate....or the aye ring,......... as a door entry 😮😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😊😊😊😊😊😊 ........you are very artistic with your odd finds.....well done...❤❤❤❤

Great Adventure, Cheers, Si - love thee Grotesques - can't think of a name @ the mo... (well, that you could use!!)
You are very talented Simon, I love the creations you make from your finds!
Gnometastic finds lads! Evil eyes are called Mati here in Cyprus - I make crochet ones 🙂- they are given to ward off evil and for luck, especially at weddings & christenings. Love your grotesque, a great upcycle as always Si. 🐾🐾😎
You are so creative, Si! Love your grotesque you made!
@@KayInMaine thanks so much!
Great adventure. Sean is a good buddy… I enjoy his silly side and his knowledge. Thanks for the edu bit on grotesques vs gargoyles! I’ve always been intrigued if a bit put off by both. Somehow a gargoyle being a roof spout brings a bit of practicality and tones the weirdness down a bit. Give Nelson and Daisy a proper scratch for me!
Other folks have peobably memtioned this too, but the square necklace thing (10:00) instantly made me think of a scapular. A scapular is a Catholic devotional item that goes around the shoulders neck.
That was such fun 🙏🏻 loved all the kichenalia ! I think the wonderful medieval head should be called Archibald ( a popular medieval name) I especially love your creativity 🙏🏻
Hey Si, i made a little opening in my shed for my cat to go in & made her a high up bed that i showed her how to jump up onto, she would spend most of the summer in there, she loved it ! i had to take her food & water out there !

Naughty!
I love how you vary your little adventures, Si! Sean is always fun to have along too. That pearl chain thing turned out pretty nice! Sean said it might be “modern crap” whilst I thought it was “old crap”. We were both wrong! Do ya want a made up name for the gargoyle or a real name, like SeanSi? Or clogburt? Lovely day out for UA ALL! C u soon! 😊❤️

Some great finds today, an awesome upcycle and lots of fun (and education) along the way. Thank you. Name suggestion for Sean's incredible find: Flumen Caput
Love your videos with Sean...
Excellent video. I really enjoyed that. Absolutely live the "Grotesque" . I think "Stonie" is a nice name. 😊
I am amazed at how many bags of bolts that are supposed to be used to secure it to a floor is found in the safes. That is the first thing I did when I bought mine was to secure it to the floor. It would take the incredible hulk to pull it off the floor 💪. Love the grotesque you came across.
my bucket list...mud larkin i the Thames... great vid Si - If you find your way to Norway, in Trondheim they have the worlds nothern cathedral, and on -Nidarosdomen- (the cathedral) you find a lot of this heads... The great viking, Harald Hårfagre. (Herold whith the hear) buildt this cathedral, and is burrid under it... (sorry for my broken engelish)
The grotesque you made is very cool! Suggested name: “Droford, Protector of Larks” after the water bottle your found. Sean’s stone head could be named “The Muddy Mime, Keeper of Spirits”
@@skp8738 love it! Great suggestion thank you Mudlover! 👍🏻🐾🧡

Your one eyed wizard grotesque is great!A suggestion someday when you have time would be a stand for the round bottom bottles you find, made of clay, driftwood, other finds, just a thought, and I figured I needed another comment to add to my others today!❤
Glad Sean has found his life jacket, great video as per usual 👏
Si a great extra step with your grotesque, is to brush it over with a layer of resin, it would really make it pop, and wood loves resin, you need the fine stuff though can’t remember the brand of mine but look for the one for casting jewellery it sets quicker and will not be sticky on a thin coat 😊
15:35 happy camper! Neat
You have a brilliant imagination, very talented upcycle!
Fascinating and informative video, really enjoyed it !
The character you made Si is pretty in a fun way. The stone figure Sean found is an amazing find! Just arrived back from Dublin, I found one pretty nail and a piece of green pottery from the foreshore there, nothing else around. Have a good weekend to come!
@@FindsByPirjo Cheers! Much luck in the muck to you too!
