- In this 225th installment, Jimmy gets to show a “First Look” of the all new Tease SBH-HD Tele style guitar from Tease Guitars! This new and updated version has a number of refinements including upgraded locking tuners and SS frets just to name a few. My thanks to Torsten at Tease guitars for sending me his personal instrument for this review and demo. Good Sunday evening (our time) dear Jimmy. Great Telecaster with HB and single pickup including color treatment and materials used. I have one such Stagg Telecaster at home, it is very light (Pawlonia body). The workmanship of the tested guitar looks very good, including the appearance of the body on the back. I bought a "standard" Tease tele... it has dime size pots... I added locking tuners... did the intonation....basic set up... it's a decent guitar... the Alnico pick-ups sound good... it's what I would take to an open mic night jam session and not worry about it...

Looks like a nice upgrade! Not a guitar big on fancy features… Just a good, SOLID Telecaster-style guitar for a very good price! The silverburst finish looks really good too, as does that painted headstock! That bridge pickup sounds really cool, too-a small hint of a humbucker-type sound, yet still has that Tele-style vibe about it somehow.

I see when you do the up close review and show the fretboard that the frets do not reach the edges of the fretboard.
Is that how the ball end style frets "work" (for lack of a better word) ?
I'd been wondering how the ends could be ball style. I guess this makes sense.
but it "looks funny" as I see it for the first time.
Hi ekw555….thanks so much for watching and commenting. The SS frets on this are very nice. I have a few other guitars with SS ball end frets…some are extended slightly further to the fretboard edge and you “feel” the ball end up/down the fretboard. These feel smooth as silk….thanks so much for stopping into the channel!! 🎸👍
I hate the way all cheap guitars have the end of the fretboard squared off, it looks insanely cheap. Rounding them off would take about two minutes and not cost a penny.
Hmmm…I have a number of non-budget guitars that include a squared off fretboard. I also have a number of budget guitars that have a rounded off fretboard. Never looked at it with the eye of the guitars overall worth or cost. Appreciate your stopping in!
