Wow, what an emotional story of a family living apart from society!
What strikes me about this webseries / movie series is the isolation of our main characters, and yet this feeling of warmth and love and togetherness is still there.
Peaceful music and a sad story 😢
So the journal is in french, Fanny translated it to Russian, and an English translation of that Russian is at the bottom of the screen. But not only was Fanny's translation probably poor because she doesn't speak French but the Russian they speak is messed up as well. So the final product we get to read is likely very different from the original.
Their Russian is messed up by the tts and because they're Russian mutants
It's likely that the Russian is done by a student of Russian

This guy didn't just translate Russian to English but he also made an entire episode of translating French to Russian to English (I'm empressed)
Before Edit: I'm thinking that maybe the diary ends when Claude was going on the boat because there were harsh waves or something similar during his time there and he fell off.
Well, we'll have to see in the next episode!
And poor Claude! They were all so happy together but then he lost all his family that used to mean so much to him one by one. The rest of his days alive were spent living in loneliness and depression. 😥😥
Edit 7/3/22: Rewatching a few episodes-in episode 93 Tux falls into quicksand that is near to Claude's abandoned taxi. Claude could have fell into it, bringing a better reason to how he died. The statue of Bastien is in the same location as well.

There’re fine, they cant leave the house, most likely due to being bound to it.
If you mean what happened to Claude, he probably died in the desert where he set up Bastien's statue, and his ghost wandered back home.
