      Yuka said that as a kid, afterbshe saw Rorys swing, she practiced it endlessly...
      Shes won 2 US opens with it....
      Most young American golfers today practiced like TigerWoods....
      So whats the point?

    I was at the us women’s open at Lancaster CC and followed Saso and Minjee Lee for a few holes. Yuka’s swing was effortless and she walked around the course gleefully. She was all smiles and totally enjoying her time on the course. She has got such an amazing attitude and love for the game. I told some rando that this woman is going to win this tournament. Unfortunately I was talking about Minjee, but that’s our secret.

    This might be the most impressive video i've ever seen about a golf lesson. Not only about your way with looking at fine details and being able to give very small adjustments that immediately click, but also with Yuka being such an athlete that she was able to instantly adjust and make the change work. Super impressive. Another thing that stood out was your shared interest/obsession of improving and enjoying the success. That was really awesome to see and proofs how much you both love this game and the process of improving.

    I love this stuff. It is first of all interesting to see the cause/effect of relatively minor changes. Secondly the ability of the elite athlete to aquire ownership of the change in apparently effortless manner.
    It is really wonderful for me to watch. I have seen it in different situations with celine boutier and danielle kang.
    It makes me honestly wonder whether my own coaches were universally deficient or if they were smart enough to know i was incapable of improving my game enough by making a change or if i, as a recreational golfer, was close enough and that fine tuning did not work on a cost/benefit basis if that makes any sense.

    Hi Cameron, thanks a lot for sharing so great content.
    Have you ever heard about Motor Preferences ? Yuka lifting the toes of her right leg is the kind of help that we use with players with a terrestrial profile.

    • @CameronMcCormickGolf
      @CameronMcCormickGolf  6 месяцев назад

      Great suggestion! I haven’t heard this. Where can I go to learn more?

    • @tartiflette2007
      @tartiflette2007 5 месяцев назад

      Hi Cameron, the concept of motor preferences has been developped in France and it's mainly teached here and in switzerland. There are some researches mainly about running at the moment, there have been some translated in english, so if you can give me an email adress i would be happy to send it to you. And then we could talk about that and give you infos about golf.
      For example Yuka and Celine are two opposite profiles. Celine is Aerial and Yuka is terrestrial. A couple of cues about their profiles : As an Aerial, Céline will be stronger, more stable ... when she's able to activate her back kinetic chain wich is dominant for her. So for example, she needs to have her center of mass more toward, feeling the pressure of her feet more in the front of her feet, having her shoulders more in front, she needs to feel light when swinging, she might struggle more when playing a ball higher than her feet. For Yuka, it's the opposite, she terrestrial, her front kinetic chain is dominant, so she needs more angles at adress and during her swing, her center of pressure is to be more backward (that's why the drill of lifting the toes help her), she needs to feel more anchored in the ground and she will (as on the video) struggle more with a ball below her feet.
      These are example, when when assess the players we get a detailled profile of the natural strenghts and weaknesses of each player wich allows individualize more and to create easy markers on wich the player can rely on.
      Have a nice day

    Awesome video. In one session you adjusted several minor details throughout the bag that allowed the player to get a better handle several shots. Questions: how can players get better at detecting errors and finding the right solutions? How can a player know they are working on the right things and not chasing their tail? How important is self discovery, if at all?
    Cheers!!!

    So with the 3 wood, her trail knee / hip were moving too close to the ball in the downswing, which creates too much shaft lean? I think that is what I heard, but wanted to confirm.
