  • A RARE monster truck TV broadcast of Super Trax from early 1991 at the Houston Astrodome. A two day event, this episode features action from the second night of competition. With Scott Douglass as the sole commentator, he has his hands full with this wild episode of action. Only the monster truck portion of this episode of Super Trax is available, but it is eventful none-the-less.

      There were a handful of events in the 1991 that had both USHRA and TNT banners. This was one of them. When they came into a venue and date that was previously a TNT event they would show both banners. This was probably in December 1990, and the buyout was in August.

      @@brandonclark482 ITNT would run the first weekend in March at Nassau Coliseum. When I went to that weekend however there had zero TNT banners anywhere & just USHRA/Camel.

    Bigfoot was always at the corner of 270 and Lindbergh. Grew up driving by it all the time and then watching these events. They used to practice run these near the airport and I could watch them from the place my old man worked. Those were the days. You can't even find an event with Bigfoot these days, much less this many Missouri race teams.

      They're just not televised and not on Monster Jam. The US Hot Rod Association owns all of their trucks and Bob Chandler won't sell the rights to Bigfoot over to them. That's why they're not on Monster Jam. I don't blame him, he created the sport.

      I don't know if it was a rumor or not but I remember in the beginning they used to say when gravedigger had his lights on it meant he was going balls out. After it started going around people would get upset if he didn't have his lights on thinking he was dogging it. So he started running them all the time. Not sure if that's the case or just what my father told me. Haha.

    • @MisterGravelrama
      @MisterGravelrama 8 лет назад +2

      I thought that too... until the green light & he was just spinning two wheels. They must have convinced the officials they were good though so Fred (who was clearly the second best at this event) couldn't come back instead. Not a bad strategy with the battle they were in at the time... Crazy finish though, I figured for sure once Dennis upset Morris he had stolen the overall victory! But I guess that's why this one wasn't played as much in syndication, a rare Breen brothers win post-1987. Great upload!

    • @dragonfly492
      @dragonfly492 7 лет назад +3

      The Bigfoot crew were only ably to have the truck in front wheel drive only, the wreckage it sustained from the previous run wiped out the rear drive line. That's why you see the front wheels spinning and the rear just moving along with the trucks forward motion. There was no surprise to see Whiskey Business win because no truck can win with only the front wheels turning or just having rear wheel drive. It takes all four wheels to be competitive no matter what truck it is.

    • @MisterGravelrama
      @MisterGravelrama 7 лет назад +1

      Lol yes that is what I was inferring. Their (Bigfoot's) intent was to keep Fred out, so they ran when they knew they had broken equipment (to prevent Fred from winning). Separately, the Whiskey Business overall win was a surprise in any circumstance. Please direct me to any other event where THAT truck won the entire race, I would love to see it!

    • @Arctic_Falcon
      @Arctic_Falcon 6 лет назад +1

      I meant winning the entire event, not over the FWD-only Bigfoot. That was a truck that I recall rarely even making it out of the first round of events.

      GD2 was repaired and still exists. GD2 competed at least a good way into the 90's as a second truck to GD3. Les Anderson, Lyle Hancock, and Robert Parker each drove it some, I know. Others too that I'm likely missing.
