Allen County Fairgrounds always had some wild courses, but this one was simple, yet challenging with the 3-jump setup.

I like how Army Armstrong says Marvin Smith's Stomper is a big block alcohol burning Chevrolet motor but you can clearly see the air cleaners on top of the carburetors sticking out of the hood

While they mentioned multiple times that Buffalo Tremor was DQ'd, they never said Digger didn't make a legal pass. If Johnny K was disqualified would Dennis not be the winner of the race? Why would a (faster) loser come back in his spot if he was declared the winner? Otherwise what was the point of backing up to make a legal run?

Dee Gravelrama at the time the rule was only fast losers could return in the case of a DQ where the truck that was not disqualified had to rerun or back up. It happened in Raleigh as well. The rule was changed not long after.

Dee Gravelrama What’s even more interesting is had Grave Digger not backed up and instead missed that last jump, Tremor would have gotten the win. At that time a double DQ just went to the first across the line. This occurred at the championship finals in 88.

@@BackChannelStudios It's funny, watching this series again the same thing happened just one race prior to this one with Thunder Chicken & I found myself asking the same question again. Thanks for the clarification!
