As a Lions fan, it's definitely Williams for me. He's exactly the kind of player we love on the Lions. Loves football. Never quits. Team captain. The Lions love leaders and pure football players. But it's hard not to love most of the new additions.
It's wild how the Lions front office just continue to sign playmaker after playmaker for a steal and building not only the depth chart and the practice team but it's time to go all in the the salary cap we have left and sign a couple more starters for a song. #OnePride
Combine numbers literally do not matter unless you are ungodly unathletic. There's a range in which anyone can potentially be a great player and I think the good GMs and coaches absolutely know this. They literally said the same thing about Amon-Ra when he came out of college. WR is about your ability to create space and catch the damn ball, raw speed doesn't matter because there aren't any slow DBs in the NFL. If you have an accurate QB you don't necessarily need a freakishly huge, athletic WR but yeah, it is really nice if you have that. Raw skill, talent and playing smart is by far the most important aspect in being a successful WR. Having that AND being amazingly athletic is how you get a HoF WR, but someone without great combine attributes can still have a great career. It happens all the time.
There will always be outliers but combine numbers definitely matter.
@Roar_Restored how so??? Please explain why there is literally no correlation between 40 time and game day performance. Or any otber combine metric for that matter. Prove to me that even one measurable exists that correlates to performace. Ill save you the time. It doesnt.
Damn...I just raged in my comment saying almost the same thing, but less diplomatically. Was too fired up lol
@@IanSinclair77 yeah, people tend to disregard you if you're annoyed, even if you have a valid point it gives them an easy out. I usually revise some of my comments for civility before posting 😂
@podunkest yea, I do that at work. Let loose on here though 😊
The S is silent in Illinois
Who cares
RB1: Not for me buddy. The S is not silent and I'm from Detroit. Big 10 football broadcasters, the S is not silent either!
@@johngwozdz8456 right lol , if your from the D it's a sin to make the S silent in livernoise (it's a main street in Detroit for the outsiders who don't know)
It’s silent whether you like it or knot. ;)
@@johngwozdz8456 Nobody aver said you needed to be a Rhodes Scholar to be a football broadcaster. The proper pronunciation of Illinois is with a silent s.
A 6.75 second 3-cone actually DOES stand out for a WR.
17 reps @225 at his size DEFINITELY stand out!!! LOL
That's strong as hell for a 5'9 189 lb receiver.
How are we supposed to take you seriously when you say ILLINOISE! come on man
Illy Noise - hip hop legend
We need a solid number 2 WR to Average 4 catches per game. I think Defense will be significant improved.
This should give us better odds then last year to get to the Confrence Finals. To get to supper bowl team will have to step it up by 2 steps then last year, although we where best team on paper.
ill-a-noy
Played Quarterback? I see our Offensive coach Johnson working a reverse option with Williams to Williams? Pass option-YES!
Illinois. Both of them
I like Steele Chambers as well, would help at OLB
17 reps for a WR is great! that's about 400lbs bench press
Isiah Williams might be a poor man's St. Brown.
Anybody playing WR today is a poor St. Brown.
Ex-Lion Powell of the Vikes is a Comp!
Hey Saturday Morning Inspection love yo channel guys
I'm lions fan seeing the lions turnaround been amazing
Please do a rookie camp breakdown let's not forget
I think Brad Holmes did his job Manu and Mahogany A++
If they can mold Wingo and Martin to be playmakers this DL will be elite Vaki A+ steal
I love the draft very interesting
Brad is a smart GM by far
Terrion Arnold Rakestraw A++ cb duo the lions is roster elite
As a Lions fan, it’s nice to hear. But every year, many teams have these type of reports, and doesn’t seem to pan out.
Please stop pronouncing the S in Illinois. Killing me bro.
I was saying the same thing in my car while listening to this. LOL
😂😂😂
Who are you to tell someone how to talk? 😂 your opinion is not valued that much 😂
@@AustinJohnson-v7e well that’s your opinion.
May as well pronounce all the letters in words. That’s kinda dumb, I doubt he can use a knife. That’s a lot of illinois 😂😂😂
I would like to hear about a big-possession receiver like a Herman Moore type for this team.
that would be La Porta.
Production > combine stats. 17 reps in the bench for a WR, who cares? 4.6 40...same as Sun God. The 3 cone is a wee bit slow but that can be improved. His production is the proof in the pudding.
St Brown gets a blow break, put in Williams.
For a second I was like "what? Amon Ra got caught doing blow?" lmao
@@thenickfoxx Right. 😄. Also the new draft pick from Utah could fill those shoes too.
Good stuff
17 rep bench press....so 225lbs for a guy that weighs 182. So he can do half the reps of guys nearly twice his weight...
Dont even know why that's a stat for receivers in combine. Im 6'5 220 and been going to the gym since before this kid was born. If i saw someone do 225 (correctly) for 17 reps, I'd be giving him a high five because thats freakinf awesome.
But...guess it doesn't stand out..
Combine strength is bs. So many factors play into it. If he had a bad night's/no sleep, because he was stressed...well, his combine stats would suck. I went to the gym today on a few hours sleep and nothing I could do could make the little weights feel heavy. Yes, others would def go through this....but that level of stress is something few of us feel. Make or break...like Em said...you got one shot.
When you see "hulk smash"...that's how i feel about all these experts. Dan played. He knows what physical and mental strength is.
If he believes in this kid, so do I.
St.Brown was picked where? And now look at him. Dude's amazing. Go lions. Detriot vs...
You should have been taught a long time ago.. it's pronounced Illinoy not Illinoise!
Yes, people in Illinoise hate when you pronounce it like that.
Some people are saying Donovan peoples Jones is going to be good in place of josh Reynolds.
S is silent in Illinois 😂
Reminds me of Golden Tate
where is Illinoiz
Illa noi
Wouldn't JW be WR 1 or 2?
Illa-noise😁
I think Nick's Mama dropped him on his head when he was a baby.
Can’t hold onto the ball
VAKI 🐒🔧
Or-e-gin and not or-e-gon
Lol after breaking it up I was Origin then I realized how my language skills are terrible
It's Or-e-gun
He fumbles to much
check the stats again buddy
