    13-6 steelers. Defense is dominant, chargers' offense is not near as explosive as Atlanta.

      @JaronAmbrose yeah I did. Eagles defense isn't what it was 3 years ago. So Atlanta hasn't impressed offensively yet. They will improve as the season goes on, as most do, but it's gonna be a middle of the pack offensive team. The Steelers cam only hope to be middle of the pack on offense, but they have a top 3 defense.

    IMO, Broderick Jones earned his three penalties. However, what is not being mentioned or discussed is the elephant in the room. That being the fact that the officiating has been atrocious across the league in the first two games of the season. I applaud coach Tomlin for taking the unprecedented move to have refs officiate the team’s practice sessions for three straight days this week in preparation for their home opener.

  • @frankfischer1281
    @frankfischer1281 2 дня назад +2

    If Broderick Jones isn't injured, the Steelers should start him at LT. Yes, Dan Moore has played well, but Jones has the capacity to play 'great'. The same thing can be said for Russll Wilson, when it comes to the long ball. Yes, Fields has done well, but Wilson has shown (in Seattle) the capacity to be great. Besides, a deal is a deal.

    • @samadams4165
      @samadams4165 2 дня назад +1

      So sit a known asset to start a potential asset. The same potential asset that destroyed a drive all by himself. That the tape shows he gives up on plays. No thanks. He can sit and learn. Moore will be gone end of season. Then bring in jones

    • @PodiumTuningRacing
      @PodiumTuningRacing 2 дня назад +1

      Naw Broderick Jones is still 2 years away at the least, he honestly looks worse than last year and not only is the effort lacking but technique is among the worse in the league.
      I'm not saying he won't be our future LT but we can't squander a potentially championship level defense for the sake of development. Moore simply understands the position better and offers the best chance to win.

    • @kenkonwick6660
      @kenkonwick6660 2 дня назад

      No reason to start Jones. Plenty of reason not to. Actually putting a little discipline to reward bad play is a better thing than rewarding bad play with no consequences. And why would u tinker with the left side of the line when it's doing well? If Jones was gonna be the beast everyone thought, he wouldn't have been switched in position.

      If the deal to which you refer is Russell Wilson getting the starting QB position, I disagree. First of all, I do not believe his contract stipulates he would definitely be the starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers. So, there's no deal.
      As for Tomlin's preseason comments about Wilson having pole position and, later, saying he would be the starting quarterback week 1....Wilson was OUT week one with and injury. The same injury, by the way, that kept him from participating in the early part of training camp. Had Wilson been healthy and ready to go week one and then, Tomlin randomly started JF instead I could see your argument although (still) a deal was never made.
      The game of football as played in the National Football League can indeed be a fickle one. A presumptive starting QB might have an injury that forces another man into the starting spot and, if he performs well enough (to go undefeated) it's not surprising that the first guy might just lose his job and become a really good backup quarterback instead.
      Don't believe me? Ask Ben Roethlisberger. Ask Tom Brady. It's just the way it is.

  • @Bill-tz3wg
    @Bill-tz3wg День назад

    I agree with Tomlin's practice strategy for eliminating penalties and hope he utilizes the "run till you puke" approach for those having penalties called on them during practice. I don't think the relevant concept this week is "squeaking by" the Chargers and the accompanying argument for why it couldn't be done. What I do believe is that the Steelers defense can shut down any offense in the league...ANY offense.
    I also believe that JF and the Steelers O has been evolving at a nice pace and has played smart, turnover free football under the run first/play option pass second "grind out the clock" strategy that pairs oh so well with the Black and Gold D. For these reasons, I'll predict the Steelers over the Chargers by a score of 24-10 this Sunday.
    I look for the penalties to either disappear or be significantly reduced. I expect the streak of no turnovers by our offense to continue. I anticipate that JF will turn it up a notch this week and have at least 60 yards rushing and at least 250 yards passing. I think Roman Wilson will show up big with either a TD reception or a significant splash play.
    All in all, coming in for their home opener with a 2-0 record I expect a near-flawless game from the mighty Steelers. The early season has been bumpy in past seasons for Pittsburgh, but I think the team and their coaches have grown and evolved leaving them ready to put this phenomenon of seasons past to rest. They know the home crowd is coming in with high energy and high expectations.
    The Steelers have the pieces in place, except one O-tackle who will remain nameless, and they'll be ready to showcase that this Sunday in the late game.
