    Just like with any top tier coach, what makes learning from you enjoyable and non monotonous is the fact you know the material you're talking about in and out. Great channel and videos coach, keep em up. Much obliged

    The cues are so helpful and one that I'll be teaching my athletes. The "UP" position is a great way to simply explain the movement, and one that I'm now realizing I can do better at coaching. Thanks so much, Dan

    Awesome, Dan! This helped my 12yo so much. Using your descriptions while wearing a hat with a fluffernutter on it is a great 1-2 punch to keep his focus

    Elegant coaching! I am (foolishly) learning to clean on my own. I've watched countless tutorial videos and have seen nothing even close to this in terms of directly applicable, useful simplicity. In the past, where I have learned the most is watching elite level lifters without listening to any descriptions. There is so much out there that is just wrong. Watching this and listening to your descriptions several times bumped by skill and comfort level up several big notches.
    THANK YOU!

    Great video! Awesome tutorial!
    One huge mention about the wrist issues on the clean and front squats. Sometimes wrist restrictions come from shoulder cuff rotations or tensed lats. Got that one from physio treatment 😊

    Hey Dan, big fan of your stuff, thanks for posting. I wondered about your thought process behind the hang position of the snatch and why you would have all the weight in the heels with the toes almost being off the ground/able to move so much?
    I ask this as most coaches teach a full foot position the entire time until fully extended.

    • @DanJohnStrengthCoach
      @DanJohnStrengthCoach  3 года назад +2

      The weight on the heels helps to make sure you are hinged and the hamstrings are stretched properly for the pull.

    Great info. Is it possible to do O lifts with a standard 1 inch bar with a rotating sleeve? Not ideal, I realize, but it’s what I have available and would seem like it would work as long as the load isn’t too heavy.

    Great stuff coach. Thanks! One question. I did not do OL since 2012 but I will start again in a couple of weeks. Unfortunately I can only manage to hit the Barbell 2 times a week may be once in a while 3 times but not that often. So I suggest to start with the Neophyte Program to get the most bang for the bug. For the Snatch, starting with an empty bar but full Movement. I will test the C&J bevor starting and than use about 60% off the max, all so as full movement. Waths your thoughts on that?

    • @DanJohnStrengthCoach
      @DanJohnStrengthCoach  3 года назад

      Give it a shot and see if it works! If you're familiar with the lifts, you can still make progress training twice a week.
