Junkyard 351w Stroker Build at DYNO How Much It Make? What's NEXT? - Авто/Мото
If you're going to be keeping it NA for a while then I vote you do a cam swap to see what happens.
maybe even 1.7 rocker arms just to see
What happens is its gonna pick up a ton of power up top and lose a little down low that's what's gonna happen but that's also badass lol.
@@midnight347 depending on the drivetrain and width of the rear tire, sometimes losing a little off the bottom end helps the launch.
@@midnight347 but I'd like to see the real world numbers it produces by the cam he uses.
Burnouts and FREEDOM! I, hear ya, Buddy! Nice!
i wouldve never thought extending the collector wouldve made a difference. Love these NA builds its more relatable to alot of people
Ya usually folks have a pipe in place like Hpipe or xpipe however we did not. Shows raw data on how that can effect it
Honestly i appreciate this build more and more. I love the macs on it too. Doing more with less and keeping it old school sorta. ❤️ it!
Hell ya
I love NA old cars 🤘🏻
Burnouts are so fun and cool
Awesome project 👍
In my 78 Zephyr I have a 1991 302 with AFR 185cc heads and trick Flow cam that I changed from Mass Air EFI to Carbureted. Never Dynoed but you can feel the Carb. set up is stronger. That may be the intake alone making the difference but not sure.
Maybe
Keep it pushin brother! 💪🏼🫡
More cam!
You know it. Stay tuned !!
Definitely more cam. The engine builder is putting a 640 lift 255 duration in my na 393 build. Are you going to be taking this car to the track na?
Yes
Cam that thing!
Stay tuned
Nice burnout!
Thanks!
Great video and content the way you share your information & knowledge of different parts integrated together is very helpful thanks Neo and thanks to your dyno partners
Hell ya !
Nice!! I've had one on the stand with high ports to go on it for years. Been following your build bro, good job!!
I agree with Jesse. I have a 242/246 now in my 393. Had a 230/236.
Especially seeing your hp max rpm
Nice ride 🔥👊
Thanks
Now that's the way you end a video with a Kick@ss burnout, I prefer the rolling burnouts, way too cool.
Hell yeah!!
I wouldn't be happy with it I say keep the new headers benefits and make it a rear mount turbo setup keep the engine compartment a little cooler 😎
Love it
i love this build idea. How did you get to 12:1 compression?
It would super interesting after the cam to see what a Terminator X does to a NA car.
Right ! I think this kinda build it may just change it like it did my white car.
Well you used a tiny camshaft for a mild 302
For now ..
That's some impressive power for a 218/228@.050 camshaft. That's the same one I have in mine. When you look at it 218 is only around 8 more degrees than the stock factory camshaft.
Correct so the new camshaft will def make a difference
It's very mild for a 387 even on a 302 it's fairly mild.
@@midnight347 ya it wasn’t supposed to push limits of an N.A. build. I mentioned that ….
I've been watching this build with a lot of interest. I've got a F4 engine out of a van, still fully dressed on the stand. How much did the block get decked, and do you think that an inline valve head would clear the TRW pistons or would you assume that they would need to be fly cut all else being equal? Thanks and I'll look forward to seeing what you decide to do with it and the power gains you make!
I would consider just fly cutting the pistons. They make tools and it’s pretty easy to do. The block should only be decked enough to be even both sides and flat
I wld be happy with the gains
I put same exact headers on my 88 and the passenger side collector is terribly restrictive, apparently bbk needs to change that damn design where the runners are pointing OUT of or through the collector , if you look through my collector the 4 runners are pointing down and not out, that bottle necks the flow , the driverside on mine is right
Btw your hat is dope i want one! Tremec ftw!
Thanks. You can only get one from Stick Shift Shootout making the top 8. This one is unique as its not from NMRA
The setup all works together. Gains wont be as good with an intake without headers ane visa versa. Either is gonna gain more if the other is already done. It all works together which i know you guys know im just saying. Thats what kills me about people that say intake pipes (cai) dont add power and are useless. Yea maybe on a stock car, especially with modern cars, but if you are moving significantly more air than stock then there will be gains from a larger free flowing intake. People make blanket statements and it kills me lol. Very much depends on the car and overall setup.
100% its all about matching the parts to make power. Not nickel and diming it
Just dyno’d my stock bottom end 302 on 11lbs with a v2 made 520 wheel at 5600 rpmand now I’m nervous bottom ends holding on for dear life
Well that’s a good number for sure. Keep fuel good and timing low/medium might hold together longer than you think
@@Neomustangs yea running a boost timing master so I can pull timing on warm days or depending on fuel. Love the videos man still kinda new to all this. You going to foxfest up in Michigan this July?
What about getting a custom cam made for it? Send all the info to a cam grinder n have them make something thatll work best for your combo
That’s not a bad idea
Sweet, what is the combustion chamber size and comp ratio? what fuel are you running?
11.5/ or 12. Pump gas e85
If you're sticking with Anderson cams you need an N-81 or more. Make that NA engine happy.
We went with a cam with more lsa
@@Neomustangs I'll be watching to see what happens!
torque cam
Runs pretty well for such a small cam! How high do you rev the stock rods?
6500
How far can a stock 95 ECU go with mods before it needs a chip
For power i use zero anderson products
What motor mounts do you have? Same for K member and hood. I have the same intake and no way I can get a hood to fit right. Thanks
351 drop mounts with spacers
Are you gonna be installing atleast a N41 camshaft?
B31 is bigger than n41
@@Neomustangs not sure why I didn't remember that. Never used any of the blower camshaft til we put the B41 in a 347S/C car this month. Tune pending.
So as it turns out the dyno wasn’t the issue?
there are issues
Burnouts and Freedom! Fuck yeah
What heads and size are in this setup? Thanks
ported 170s' flow 300 intake side. 250 on seat with new springs.
@@Neomustangs thanks. Those are flowing very well!!! I've built a similar build but am carbed. What do you think of these cam numbers? Intake centerline 106, lobe separation 110, intake .542 lift exhaust .562 230/236 duration @.050. Everyone says too small. Dual plane with 750 dp and 225cc heads static conpression 10.5-1. Tko 600 3.73s shift below 6000 to keep longevity. Not a race car. Street fox 🦊 thanks. Love the content. Very informative and gives me the bug to keep working on it.
@@eze.Morning_Wood_Farms Thats not small. Its in the middle. Sounds like a comp cam
@@Neomustangsonce again you know your stuff. It's a grind of a comp cam with minor tweaks.
try retarding the cam timing 4 degrees first it should extend the rpm range
More cam she will wake up still not bad though.
That is an understatement that cam is mild on a 302 let alone a 387. It's gonna pick up a lot from a cam
You didn’t make more power. You removed a part of the assembly that was restricting the engine’s potential for power.
Thats weird they say 4 inch pipe flows 1100cfm, i had to put to 4 inch pipes to get the flow i needed, there flow ratings were 800 in one 4 inch pipe, wonder wich is right
