Your videos are all exceptionally well put together, and remarkably under-viewed; this is no exception.
I hope you see this and realise how much your intently focused, actually intellectual and selfless analysis of films means to some of the people that watch you.
Please keep it up. The fact you're still doing this obviously means you're doing it for the right reason: a genuine love of art.

Thanks so much! This is maybe the kindest comment I've received yet, and certainly I am motivated by the desire to share my love of cinema. I only hope I don't disappoint in future. In fact, I'm interested in any ideas people may have for topics to cover, or any particular films you think warrant examination. Feel free to make suggestions.
I checked out your channel, and although I am not knowledgeable about either theology nor poetry, I'm finding your talk on William Blake fascinating. I feel like I need to do some research before I check out the rest of your videos, but I'm definitely interested.

@@ShootMeMovieReviews Thanks very much for checking it out!
That was mainly for an English society event. The next video I upload, a properly edited essay, will try and bear this in mind.
As per films that aren't talked about as much as they should be, Bresson's 'Au Hazard Balthazar' is damn impressive and weird, on top of being canonical, and the way 'The Straight Story' talks about death practically calls for analysis. The ending transition shot into stars, implying a transcendence to heaven through kindness alone, is pure cinema.

I think this is one of John Travolta’s greatest actor films. So good…👍

Maybe the audition dance scene in Flashdance? Nervously putting the needle onto the vinyl? And the camera work in the dance? Also I remember the camera work and editing of the ice skating scene gave me goosebumps at the time. I don't know, maybe I'm out of my league suggesting these things, just my input.

Thanks for your thoughts. I rewatched that scene after reading your post. It does have a very nice visual metaphor. When she arrives, she's visibly nervous and her hand shakes as she attempts to place the needle of the record player onto the record. She has to steady herself as she drops it so that it will find its groove, in much the same way she finds hers in the dancing.
