What’s your usual coffee shop order? Do you want to visit a Japanese kissaten? Let us know below!
I always have to try the house blend!
There's an almond milk vanilla latte that I swear is like drinking toasted marshmallows. Coffee that doesn't taste like coffee is a part of my perfect breakfast.
Iced cafe mocha / Hot Vienna coffee ☕️
this would def be my thing to check out. but i am a bigger cold brew drinker then a hot coffee person.
Can’t go wrong with a flat white ☕️
I vibe so much with this
Much appreciated for showing off Monozuki, I now have someplace to relax after a meeting next month
I'm appreciating Sarah's coffee house hat game.
You mean her Béret ?
They both have the beatnik vibe nailed.
@@johnnason7019 Only if Sarah paired her beret with a black turtleneck.
@@Allyouknow5820 I think I've seen her wear it before. It's a great choice for her and fits her so well!
It's very "Japanese girl's idea of French"
Fun!
Okay this dude literally should go all around Tokyo and rate the coffee shops by their blends , that would be a series I would like to watch and binge in to .
Same
Love watching this video on a beautiful saturday morning here in Montreal, sipping my coffee in bed and enjoying the smooth voices of Sara and Jordan talking about beautiful Kissaten places in Tokyo.
Love this duo !!
1:33min “hehe, yeah boi”
Such Charisma, very Afro
This was such a cozy video I love it. The vibe in those kissatens is so chill and peaceful. I wish the U.S. had something like that. It’s also the first video I’ve watched with Jordan and I love him and his love for coffee. Sarah and Jordan are a great duo.
Watched this while having brekkie. It was like sitting together with Sarah and Jordan, speaking in a soft voice and starting the day. 😌
Thanks for the info .Great vibe ,the close ups on the food were top tier!
I love this episode. Love cafes.
Jordan, Sarah, and Alex are such a great trio in videos, always so fun and great to watch!
Another Aussie involved in TC ... love it
Jordan's hand gestures are the best in the whole of the TC presenting crew
this video was extremely fun I loved learning about kissatens I don't drink coffee but I would love to try any of the teas and food they have especially in that last one with the music
3rd time back to this vid. Never get sick of it. How about making a Kissaten with Jordan & Sarah series?
This was beautiful 😌 I really really loved listening to Jordan going on and on about coffee and coffee shops, his passion shows and it radiates good vibes. Listening to Jordan and Sarah talk in hushed tones was like actually sitting at a kissaten on a chill and cozy morning with them, especially with a coffee in hand, and I would love to do it again. Such a lovely video, so much depth but also so relaxing, and Sarah Jordan are a dynamic duo; this was a fave of mine! Also nice fashion Sarah 👌
Love this video. Chill vibes and caffeine ❤☕
Really loving the calmer and more relaxed content from Jordan and Sarah here.
Jordan is literally goals
I only have one word to describe this video: Elegance!
Lovely video. I'd love it if you did similar videoes, but also including a short interview with the owneres/workers on why they have passion for what they do. I just love the japanese mentality of taking pride in their work and doing it with true passion.
Half a month separated, and I still think about this video. Must because of the powerful memories I have of Japanese kissaten.
My kind of content. ☕️
Sarah is CALM!
I guess it's the coffee that gives her that extra boost of energy. You could sort of see it start to flourish near the end
I love it when Jordan and Sarah are together. I would be over the moon of TC play would create a video of them doing like a mini drama.
Great video! I am not really a coffee person but this video was very interesting!
Jordan best coffee drinker! Elegance level+9999999 Lovin it!
100% man of high taste
Really great video! Cafe Monozuki is definitely going on the "must visit" list for when i visit Japan.
We need an Airbnb experience of a coffee tour with Jordan!
Magical ✨. Thank you for this wonderful vlog . Coffee ☕ content is the best . Obsessed with this channel .
Love Sarah and Alex and missed Jordan recently very happy
Nice to see Jordan and Sarah together again! Travelling and visiting different Kissaten places. I watch this and at the same time drink coffee. I like to visit cafes when visiting abroad.. just to go cafe.. and see how people are walking on the street and time goes by .. without any need to hurry anywhere.. Cafeterias are so familiar to me. My mother used to work in cafeteria and I was helping her in younger age.. Texas buns.. and Sacher cakes.. Capuchinos..
The last spot with the massive gramophones blew my mind. Would love to return and drown myself in music & great coffee again 🎶🙋🏻♀️
This is cool
So much fun to watch this! Jordan and Sarah’s styles are perfect for cafe hunting! I hope to visit Japan someday and I definitely want to try these cafes!💜😘🌸
These shops seem wonderful. Japan looks like one of THE places to get a caffeine high.
Love the vibes of kisatens! Thanks for covering them!
I would absolutely LOVE to see more Kissaten tours!
That kick ass fro making everything good.
Enjoy the whole crew but really loving the Sarah and Jordan featured content-more please of this lovely duo! Great synergy and conversation with them. 🙌🏼💕
Cool and fun coffee shops! Gotta try them out whenever I get a chance to go to Japan again :D

Sarah…looking INTO you over a cup.
Wonderful!
Been to a few of these in Japan, be prepared for cigarette smokes while you drink your coffee. The traditional coffee houses allow smoking inside the cafe, they do separate into smoking and non smoking side but as we all know you’ll still smell it!
"Mamonaku, shinjuku san-chome, shinjuku san-chome". Heard that annoncement so many times in japan just seeing the name made me hear it again :D Can't wait to go back! And now to actually watch the video...
fascinating! and good to know that most kissaten are now smoke-free. that's one of the big things that kept me away previously!
I don't drink coffee but this sounds like heaven, Just like in Before The Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi
Thank you for introducing us to Kissaten. Will definitely seek them out on our next trip to Japan. Hopefully soon.
Damn, I love your videos. YOU guys NEED MORE SUBS MAN! Guys let's spread it!
Lived in a place called Atsugi in the 90s, and my favorite Kissaten was called Le Chat Noir; a two-story cafe where we'd meet with friends. I loved the upstairs nook by the window; felt so insulated/safe there. LOVE Japanese Kissaten.
From my short experience in Japan, jazz is played practically everywhere. Tokyo, Kioto, Nagano, Osaka. Caffees, ramen restaurants, izakayas. The only exceptions were Starback with standard pop and one ramen shop in Bunkyo City in Tokyo where they played J.S.Bach
As a Coffee enthusiast I LOVED THIS VLOG! Please do more. THX THX THX
Super cool episode!
Such unique places! So cozy and chill! Here the specialty coffee culture is growing but people already drink it every day! It's kind rare having those old coffee shops here, but I believe there are some still. It would be interesting if u guys could do another video but about specialty coffee places :DD
I could watch Sarah butter bread for a whole video and id be happy lol also Love the Shout out to BabyMetal Sarah
Waah... so nice...
I used to be like you Sarah.
I loved bread! I’d make what I called a bread on bread sandwich. (3 or more slices!)
Then I got a celiac diagnosis..no more delicious bread. Gluten Free is not the same.
Enjoying vicariously through you!
love it. going to move to Tokyo for work in September-ish and my google map pins are already very crowded of places to check out. thanksss.
More kissaten adventures please! ☕️💕
Love this video.
Also, you guys both have delightful voices
Serendipitously, I am actually drinking coffee while watching this. 😀
Great video. One thing I'd love is if you guys added the locations you visited into the video description. As Jordan said - finding the first café is a tad hard :P
Ill add links to the description now!
What I love about coffee is the many different brewing methods and the ability to create so many different styles. Definitely going to try and check out the Violon cafe while there! My mom and I love music so it's perfect.
Jordan is such a top class host. Definitely a different pace and lots of hidden gems with Jordan at the helm... it was majestic! Also, Sarah just mentioned Haruki Murakami!!!! Wild sheep chase is my all time fave🖤🖤 🐑 🖤🖤 didn’t think I could like this duo more!!!! Great vid 💕💕💕
Jordan has such amazing hair though.
Please rock up with some random white label dance record 😂
you just know this was Jordon's idea of going to coffee shops in tokyo :P
Currently drinking a mix of chai tea + milk, but my favorite coffee orders at local shops tend to include lavender. Outside of coffee, I really like London Fogs. I live in one of the southern states of the US.
Ive been following this channel and other u tubers and how its only ever about food or cafes i love art galleries and museums and is their none in japan.
I'm sucker for coffee video 🥰
I'm looking forward to going to Chatei Hatou in Shibuya, once we're welcome again.
I think we need a shirt with a cartoon of Jordan saying "gimmie some of that toast boi!"
Cafes of Japan series!
Coffee culture in Italy is coffee every day, with a moka, and if it's a type with a lot of milk, like cappuccino we don't drink it after 12 pm. And I personally don't want any sugar in it, espresso and macchiato are the best
I want Jordan to narrate my life. 😂
Now I want a slab of bread.
I went to one of these coffee shops in Asakusa. I ordered coffee and one of those thick slices of toast, I tried ordering soy milk but I don't think my translation worked 😅 being at the cafe made me feel like I was in a lofi music video.
that way of serving coffee high up from two pots or one at a time is very common in Mexico, that way it gets combined and foamy
6:14 Yeah, most coffee shops in Japan used to allow smoking in the past. For, the word "Kissaten"(喫茶店) means "Smoking(喫 Ki) Tea(茶Sa) Shop(店Ten)" .
I love a tia maria coffee after my curry meal in the uk, I never liked coffee until I worked night's and needed it keep me awake till am.
💖💙💖⛩️🗼🎎XX
Haruki Murakami used to own a jazz kissaten in Tokyo back in the 1970’s.
I gotta check out Violon next time. Last time I went to Chatei Hatou in Shibuya, definitely the more old school place with smoking inside allowed, and seems to be popular with many salary men and women. The drip coffee is done really slowly through a cloth filter, and the whole place is decorated with very ornate tea cups. If I recall, chiffon cakes were part of their menu. Here in Aus I stick to a single origin long black, or oat milk flat white
Sweet 👍
Loved this video- have your team been to Au Bon Vieux Temps? It’s a patisserie SW of Meguro City. I love the storefront and the pastries look delicious!
Babymetal in a coffeeshop…works for me!
I found the quality of coffee in Tokyo to be really high 🤓👍
I miss the kissatens in Tokyo. I used to go to a kissaten at Denenchofu station (not sure if it's still there and don't remember the name of it) when I lived there.
I love going to coffee shops!
I know of one of the best coffee shops in Japan is in Kumamoto. The guy is originally from Hokkaido and only uses milk from there. He's also quite well travelled and interesting to talk to. I highly recommend you to check it out if you ever visit Kumamoto city sometime.
In my experience in rural Japan, smoking kissaten are still the norm, so I always hesitate to visit them.
Siphon is not too expensive nor time consuming! You should try it!
Sarah mvp in these videos
Vegemite is the best!
Beard problems: Getting the crumbs in the bristles. Though the good part is a snack for later.
More things coffee please!
And here I am with no coffee in house. Sad.
Same. 😥
I just realized how something so customizable as coffee can become a character trait on it's own.....I only drink matcha.
That reminds me, I'm almost out of instant, lol
I love Jordan’s vibe, it’s a cool vibe
Something for me to check out, whenever I finally get to Japan, ta.
Any plans to feature that coffee shop where they don't let you leave until you've finished your work?
