Yaaaayyyy! I loved this series! You’re right, the obvious winner was the Concord simply because of all of the options and possibilities. Plus, you were glowing when you tried it on. I really enjoyed how you approached this project and it inspires me to do the same. I’ve never really thought about trying same but different patterns all at once, but you definitely showed the value in it. Thanks Theresa!
Thank you so much, Erin! It makes me really happy to hear that you enjoyed the series. I never know how the patterns are going to turn out, but the winner of this one was pretty clear to me, as soon as I put it on.
Great choice! I agree with you, that t shirt looks great on you! You are the second vlogger that has given that t shirt very good comments, still giving a thought whether I buy it or not. Thanks for sharing, definitely having more opinions of a pattern is always helpful when deciding what to sew, and especially the amount of information you provided! Take care!
Thank you so much! I think fit and silhouette are so individual, depending on our own body types and styles. This one though, was pretty clear cut for me! I hope you find your perfect fitted t-shirt, whatever it is. Thanks for your continued support!
Wow what a difference a great fit makes!😊❤ yesss the Concord for the win!🥰 the Gable looks nice, I love the length but it does look a little too long, hey add a few inches and you got a dress😊 the love notions looked frumpy. Yes those should be Pjs! Great series! I always love watching these❤😍
You confirmed for me that there is no need to ever buy another T-shirt pattern. I had the same mind blowing delight regarding fit with the Concord T. I love the Concords I’ve already made and now I’m going to make a black one tomorrow! Yours looks just fantastic on you! I can’t wait to see your future hacks. And I hope you do more videos like this.
The shoulders seemed to fit you on the Love Notions but it otherwise is too 'old lady' style for you. You really need to cut it apart and reuse the fabric to make a version of the concord. That fabric is too beautiful on you to relegate it to the closet! Thanks for another great series😃
Thank you, Nancy! I had the same thought about the blue shirt fabric. I have a little bit of that fabric left, as well. I'll see what I can do, but I don't want that gorgeous blue fabric to go to waste!
Love these videos! I was Team Gable Top from the start because I'm a sucker for a slash neckline. But omg it was SO LONG. And then the fit on the Concord was just... *chef's kiss* I've commented before that we have basically the same body shape so definitely adding the Concord to my future shopping list 😀
Thank you! You could easily hack a slash neckline onto the concord. And I will be making more gables, shortened significantly and graded out more at the hip. Honestly, both great patterns, but the concord is pretty amazing right out of the box!
Re the Gable Tee, it looks gorgeous, but the length is a lot to deal with. I saw something a long time ago, that women with a smaller waist and bigger hip measure , often look better in a top cut at the higher hip bone. I tried this and for me, it was great. I have just made a breton tee, as well, and cut off several inches. It is now super easy to throw on, and be done. Now that you have finished the series, you can make it your own. The Love Notions has side seams that pull forward from the back, otherwise I would have thought just taking in the seams about 2" each size, but the drafting seams off, especially when you compare it to the Concord. The Concord is fabulous in every way :) Love this series!
I didn't even spot that about the love notions tee! I agree, it does seem off. I usually go for tops that hit around the high hip, but that just comes from years of buying/sewing clothes and noticing what I prefer. I had no idea that there was a 'reason', but that's really interesting! I think I'll shorten the Gable Top, but I'll also grade out at the hip for future versions. Thank you so much for watching and for your thoughtful comments!
Thank you so much for all the details you provided in this series. I think the Concord looks really wonderful on you. I can’t wait to make one of my own.
@@ExpressionistMakes I think it's got too much wrong with it to work for me, honestly. The neckline is my biggest issue, but the sleeve length/width isn't right, either. It was fun to try a few shirt patterns out, but I think I've found my winners.
Concord tee is awesome, it fits great and you tell it made you feel beautiful :) You could probably hack it into a boat neck . Cashmerette patterns fit really well in general.
Youve done such a great job of explaining why Cashmerette is worth the money for us busty girls. Ive never done the tab detail but I like yours so much I'm going to give it a go. Well done and thanks for such an informative series!
Thanks, Deb! The sleeve tab is such a cute detail. I really love it. I'm such a Cashmerette convert now. It's great to have patterns designed for my body type, and it's such a novelty!
I loved this series, and the Concord Tee fitted you so well. I must say I'm a fan of stripes (Gable Top) but have heard others say that this is snug around the hips. I class myself as a novice and found this series a great help. Well done!👏🏾🧡
The good news is that I've got more of the striped fabric, so I can make a striped concord! It's so great to hear that you found the series helpful. Thanks for watching!
I agree with all you said regarding each pattern on your body. I would like to try out the gable top now knowing that it has a small bust option. Looked so great on you tucked in. I'm glad you found a pattern that is all around a winner for you, also!
that concord tee is so perfect for you! i am going to sew the gable top soon for myself so thanks for including it in your review. there are a couple of things that i think i'll need to look out for when i make it.
Thanks, Sara! There is a lot to love about the Gable Top, but beware the length and negative ease in the hips. I'm sure you'll knock it out of the park!
Absolutely! I'm always aware that though these things work best for me, it is going to be so different person to person. Still, it's fun to figure out the best patterns for my own wardrobe.
Excellent series! You really demonstrated how even the simplest patterns can work on some body shapes and not on others. It's not that the patterns are "good" or "bad" in themselves, you just have to find the ones that work for you. It's rare that any pattern fits perfectly straight out of the packet. The Gable top would probably be fine if you cut about 6 inches off the bottom... But the Concorde Tee was clearly the best on you. And isn't it wonderful when you find the perfect tee shirt! 🍾🎊 I hope you do more series like this, they're great.
Thank you so much! You are absolutely right. I find it so interesting how differently patterns can fit the same body. I will be shortening the Gable Top and using the fabric from the Classic Tee to make something else. So excited to make all the concords right now! There will be more of these series to come, for sure!
Out of the 3, I have only ever made the Love Notions tee. I am very small busted and I agreed with you 100% on everything you mentioned. I thought maybe I put myself in the wrong size when I made it but after seeing yours, I think it must just be a lounge fitting tee. Before seeing your series of videos I had been wanting to try the Concord tee and your videos have me sold on that one. I just cant wait to try it now❤.
The Concord Tee has definitely become a firm favorite of mine, and I've made multiple versions now. T-shirt shape is really individual, but I can say that this is the right one for me. I hope it works out well for you, too!
I agree with your choice 100 %! The black one is so so flattering and I love the detail on the sleeves! Thanks for sharing and for all the work and effort you put in to this trial ❤️
Thank you! It's so interesting to me how different they can be on the same person. I always find it fascinating to compare different sewing patterns, and I'm glad to hear that you've enjoyed it, as well!
I really loved the fit of the Concord on you. It looked great. It’s my go to tshirt pattern as well. Cashmerette did a heck of a job with that one. What a fun series!
Thanks, Mari! I am truly amazed by the fit of the concord. I think I'm going to end up buying every one of their patterns, once they're in the smaller size range. They're so good!
Thanks so much for this series! It’s both educational and entertaining. And I completely agree with the blue Tee. It’s just wrong. But the other two? Amazing! Can’t wait for the next battle royale.
I have to say that they've done me well so far. I'll be keeping an eye out for them continuing to expand their size range, as I don't fit into their standard block and only fit the new, smaller sizes. Thank you for watching! I hope they work out well for you, too!
I loved watching this series and was cheering on the concord tee all along. I have made a few in the past month (and also her saybrook tank as well) and you described the Cashmerette fit perfectly….mind blowing!!! These are my go to patterns for knit tops going forward. Her Calder pants blew my mind the same way so now I’m working my way through more Cashmerette patterns. I also love that she has a size calculator on her site so you can put in your info and it will tell you what sizes to use and grade between if necessary. The Jennifer Lauren top I wouldn't consider ever as I look horrible in that type of neckline.
Note: Cashmerette now makes below size 12 in Concord and is gradually adding more to the smaller size range for curves. It was always the winner in my book. The Gable Tee doesn’t offer variety. And, the Love Notions pattern is $5. You get what you pay for. Don’t write off Love Notions entirely, she has an extensive library of patterns with tons of variety at reasonable prices. Cashmerette is definitely the hands-down company for curvy women. Jenny Rushmore is a genius!
This was a fun series! I love that you found your winner; the version of the Concord tee you made up will be so versatile. In your summary of the Gable top you mentioned that for you, it was too long. In your plans for future adjustments you didn't mention shortening it. I suspect shortening as well as grading out a little will reduce some of the tightness you didn't like. My favorite tee shirt on me however is your loser. I too am "pear" so I love the swingy nature of that shirt and having and the full bust piece is perfect for my E sewing cup. I always shorten the LN Classic Tee and I prefer a shorter body length. It is a winner for me every time. I love it so much I use it as a base and add other necklines (e.g. SOI Edie) to it to get additional looks.
I definitely think that fit is so individual, and I know that many love the Classic Tee. It's great to see what works best for us. I'm looking forward to using the Concord as a base for many shirts, like you have for the Classic Tee! I agree, I will shorten the Gable Top and grade out further in the future. It's just a few tweaks away from being a great shirt for me. Thank you so much for watching!
Love watching this series, and happy for you that you have found your forever tee! Inspired to get that one for myself, as I love their Fuller cardigan for pretty much the same reasons you love the Concord! Thanks for sharing your experiences x
Thank you so much, Marie! Their Fuller Cardigan isn't in my size yet, but I'll be snapping that one up, as soon as it is. They seem to nail it with fit for me, every time!
I cut out the cropped version of the fuller Cardigan last night so I’m excited to finish that today and see if I love it as much as every other Cashmerette pattern I have made so far
I appreciate all the time you spend doing these “battle of” series. They are so helpful. I have been trying to work with the Love Notions classic tee and just not getting the fit I’d like. I think I am going to invest in the Concord tee and see if I can get a fit that is anywhere like yours. I thought it fit you so well. Thanks again. Looking forward to your next video.
Thank you so much, Lynette! Sometimes it's worth tweaking a garment if it's not quite right, but sometimes it's worth moving on. I hope that this Concord Tee works out for you, too. Let me know how it goes!
You won’t regret buying the concord tee. It’s amazing! I think if you get on her mailing list you will get a code for a percent off of your first order
I am so disappointed in the Love Notions shirt!! It reminds me of myself wearing my husband's t-shirt!! The Cashmere the looks wonderful on you. I wonder if you could sew one with the neckline of the first tee? I certainly want one. The first tee is just too snug in the hip area but otherwise is a lovely look for you. It looked great tucked in! I love this series. Thank you!
I've been wearing the Cashmerette one and the Jennifer Lauren Handmade one (the first tee) an absolute ton since making them. I'll make more with minor changes, for sure! I've also made another Cashmerette one with a turtleneck hack and am planning many more hacks to come. Agreed, the Love Notions one did nothing for me. I have saved it and plan to cut it up to make something else because I don't want to waste that beautiful fabric!
Loved this series. The Concord is so flattering on you and I can’t believe what a difference the sleeve detail makes on a tee shirt. Thanks for doing all the research. I’m definitely going to make the Concord, but the Gable top is also on my list as a nice alternative look. Would you consider doing a future video on all the different tee shirt hacks you do?
Thank you, Jane! It's great to hear that you enjoyed the series. It's a big project, but it's also a fun one. I'm endlessly fascinated at how small variations can effect the overall look of a garment, and this was a good example of that. I love the suggestion about the concord hacks video. My brain has been percolating with ideas for that pattern, and I'd thought about making a video, so I'm glad to hear that it's something you'd like!
This was such a great series! I just finished a child’s classic T for my 9 yr old granddaughter in a rib knit, but don’t know how it will fit her since she lives so far away. I made it to be worn under a flutter sleeve dress I made, but I think I might need to make a TNT E&M pattern sweater to go with the dress just in case. 🤞 I was about to cut a Classic Tee for myself, but now I want to try the Concord first. It is beautiful on you, and I love your sleeve detail!
Thank you so much! The girl's classic tee has been true to size for my nieces, so I'm sure your granddaughter's will turn out great. As much as we all have our own preferences with t-shirt fit and style, I've definitely found my new favorite!
Good to find what you like! But just skipping to #4 of this series, by not using the same fabric with each pattern, you are dealing with the fabric differences as much as the patterns... But yeah, t-shirt with positive ease doesn't make sense! And for sure will follow another reviewer tip for the LV to grade in the waist & use the high hip, not full hip. And the floppy sleeves alas will match my fuller & flappy arms 😂.
Thanks for following along. My intention was that by using fabrics with a similar drape, they wouldn't be hugely different in the garment. It's always a compromise though when I want to make what works for my wardrobe, as well as for the comparison.
The first tee shirt you had on, the Jennifer Loren tee, looked great on you. It would look very nice as a jersey dress on you. Jut extend the length. I think that as a tee it is too long. It looked much better on you when you pulled it up on your hips. The Casmerette tee fit you very well. You are right, the shoulders are a bit too narrow. But otherwise it fits you very well.
I agree on all points! I hadn't considered the Gable Top as a dress, that's such a great idea. Of course I'd grade out significantly over the hips and probably go for more of an A-line shape. Ooh, maybe in a ponte or sweater knit.. you're giving me ideas! Thank you so much for watching!

@@LostMyThread Good to know! Thanks!
