Art James was the most underrated game show host in TV History.
Art James was a great game show host. My favorite show was the Who, What or Where game.
The Who, What or Where Game was Art's best show as host.
When he hosted "Concentration ,he must have been at least in his early 30s to early 40s.I agree,he does have a deep voice and a very awesome personality, he,Jack Narz and Jim Perry classic ,professional hosts ,gone too soon, but will never be forgotten.
I loved Art; his voice was such music to the ears
Yes
Art James was a magnificent game show host, R.I.P. Art James!!
Rest in peace, Artie.
That voice. Those dimples. Forever.
You see our mascot “HERBIE” driving a car and the word “THEATER” that goes around it!!
He will be missed!
This channel is earning almost 1,830 subscribers and 856,600 views!!!!!!!!
Art also announced "Face The Music" starring TV's "Tarzan" Ron Ely in 1980.
9-22-2022.
Yeah, time is close to the end! It's Academic show the audience was super neat. But for 2022 any audience would be a super mess. Life will be over real soon. Yippee
My Idol Host... he was so handsome and had such a deep voice
If you had the chance while still with us to ask him 2 questions, what would they be?

"What was your favorite show that you hosted?"
"Would you like to see my version of Super Pay Cards?"
@@DakariKingMykan Believe it or not, when we had playtime at PS 177Q,i actually did bonus game types of Tic Tac Dough, not the part with categories.Wait, you do a version if Super Pay Cards?I'd love to see that.
If you could be a contestant on any game show ,past, present or if it was a reboot, what would it be and why?
@@seanmontgomery801 Super Pay Cards
It's easy to play, it's always anyone's game, and I'm not much of a brain for quiz shows
Reminds me of the late former WNEM 5 (Saginaw, MI) news anchor & reporter Joe Palcek!!
Art worked in the same market back in the 50s- at WKNX channel 57. It’s now WEYI channel 25.
Never can figure out why Catch Phrase didn't catch on here. Maybe Art should have brought in a Snake Charmer :P
Catch Phrase was syndicated, so it has to be sold station by station. It's tough to get a syndicated show off the ground - get enough clearances in the bigger markets in the good time slots.
I can't find any of the Sale of the Century episodes that the late ,great host Art James did before Jim Perry took over.
There's no record that Art James ever hosted $ale of the Century -- Perry did the entire '80s run.
My favorite host
Art could've hosted 'Now You See It '89' if given the chance.
My first choice would've been either Tom Kennedy or Peter Tomarken but I suppose Art would've been good to. Anybody other than Chuck Henry would work.
Here is a link to the Art James hosted pilot "Pot O Gold" that I forgot to add.

"The Magnificent Marble Machine" had a circus theme.
That show should've gotten a revival in the 1980's and have two teams of contestants competing in word games like in Scrabble and Now You See It.
which game show is your favorite
You left out Fractured Phrases
Matches N Mates is missing, but I’ve never seen a full episode
That was Johnny Gilbert announcing for 'The Magnificent Marble Machine'. Wasn't it?
Brian Sheil Yes, that is Johnny Gilbert.
Correct. That was one of the few game shows from Merrill Heatter/Bob Quigly that didn't have Kenny Williams as host. The other one was Temptation which I don't remember was announced by.
@@mitchellries256 Carl King
@@mitchellries256 KENNY Williams!
@@recordman64 What about him?
Pay Cards was an ancestor to Card Sharks, if I recall correctly. If I am wrong, then I shall stand corrected.
Is the Magnificent Marble Machine the only H&Q game show not to have announcer Kenny Williams?
Dan Barker Carl King was announcer on Temptation
Without a doubt,Mr.Art James will always be one of the most talented people ever in the game show business, but did you know he was on a telethon,if memory serves me correctly, the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy one.
@@balconi89 And, oddly enough, Art hosted both!
You also forgot "Truth or Date", a 1995 pilot taped at a New Jersey mall that was such a knockoff of The Dating Game, Art hosted under the alias of Bob Summers. But that wasn't the worst of the problems- mainly that, before taping, two of the contestant were replaced by two interlopers, trying to win their girlfriends back, one of whom was the contestant (due to a long series of events); the other replacement ended up making the whole thing hilarious due to all sorts of crazy comments and swearing. (If you haven't gotten it by now, I'm referencing Kevin Smith's 1995 movie Mallrats, where Art played the hapless host.)
Tim Mischka "Richard Dawson, just go back to your podium till it's time to play the Fued, alright?"
I LOVED MallRatts. I didn't put it in cause it isn't actually a show..........but I probably should have.........
"Magnificent Marble Machine" and "Blank Check" need to be transposed.
"Blank Check" originally had the theme from "Now You See It".
