We'll miss you, pal.
Rest In Peace to Alex Trebek, a true legend in the industry
Rest in peace ALL of them audience members in the first clip
He died couple years ago.
Thanks for the near 50 years of game show memories, Alex. A "Golden Microphone" awaits for you in heaven.
I had not realized he had hosted so many gameshows. I remember watching High Rollers as a kid but have not heard of most of the other shows.
He was said to have done a pilot for Starcade, but no pilot exists in any form (neither does episode 35)
R.I.P. to the legendary game show host Alex Trebek. He passed away today at age 80.
He just died, my heart goes out to his family

Alex, you fostered my cultural literacy, love of learning, and enriched my life. Rest In Peace, my friend
Hugh Downs was the original host of Concentration and passed away this year as well. 2020 has not been a good year.
@Sophie is Awesome Wow that's crazy
He is a good man. A hell of tv game show host, we miss you Alex Trebek Rest in peace. 😢😢
RIP Alex. You gave us a lot of fun and memories.
RIP Alex. Thank you for representing Canada so well.
Great compilation here. I grew up with Alex on High Rollers and Double Dare. At one point I never thought that he'd wind up hosting Jeopardy for 35 years. And now it'll be hard to imagine anyone else at the helm. He's certainly had quite an impressive resume of game shows.
Start imagining. :(
I go back to the second run of High Rollers myself. I remember coming home from preschool and watching High Rollers and Wheel of Fortune....with Chuck and Susan! It's a big loss! Alex said he got the Jeopardy! gig after Merv remembered how he filled in for Chuck Woolery on Wheel. Kinda neat!
I am not drooling here over Alex Trebek or anything..I simply express admiration for the man and what he seems to be. I never realized how incredibly handsome Alex Trebek was as a younger man...as well as witty, intelligent, articulate, refined. What a guy, what a personality!🔥😍 What a winning and fiery combination, all brewing in one person! I am left starstruck and breathless!🔥😍
As a kid, I started watching "Jeopardy"!, and it has become one of my favorite game shows and it still is to this day! My thoughts and prayers are with Alex Trebek and his family. We're all rooting for you, Alex! You will fight and defeat that ailment! You got this!
👊💪💯💯
Alex Trebek didn't make it. But he wasn't defeated, either. He handled his situation with such grace and candor. I'm sure others have ans will draw inspiration from his journey.
We love you Alex we'll missed you man.
In memory of Alex Trebek,RIP.
“you were good, son, real good. maybe even the best.”
rip trebek. an absolutely legendary game show host that no doubt shaped so many childhoods, whether they be jeopardy, concentration, or any of the many, MANY other shows he’s done. 🙁7
What an incredible career he had. Miss you, Alex.
R.I.P. to one of the greatest game show hosts ever
I remember watching Pitfall. That looked like the most dangerous game show out there.
There was apparently an injury that resulted in a lawsuit, which is why a lot of contestants got stiffed, and Trebek’s paycheck bounced.
@@musicmanfelipe Wow. Didn't know that. Thanks!
For those of you looking for the Jeopardy intro, you'll find it at 6:51. What drew my attention more however was the intro that follows... Classic Concentration. I always here folx from my generation taIking about how they'd watch Price is Right on those days they were home from school. I do as well... still want to spin the CRAP out of that wheel... but I also remember one summer where I watched a whole mess of Classic Concentration (AND Price is Right). I'm sure I've seen Mr. Trebek on THAT show more than on Jeopardy, where he still had the short, black fro and mustache. And I was only reminded of this recently upon his passing. (I also remember how weird it was at first to see him when he stopped having the mustache). :D Thank you for all the joy you brought us Alex :)
We will remember Alex Trebek - One of the greatest game show hosts in television history. 1940-2020.
I miss Alex Trebek. He was also a CBC announcer back in the day. Then he went from 'Wizard of Odds" to "Jeopardy!" This is why I honor him.
Thank you for everything Alex Trebek
Rest In Peace handsome host ✝️
Alex at one point (really brief) was hosting 3 game shows in the same day:
Jeopardy!
Classic Concentration
To Tell The Truth
😇🙌🎉💚
When he hosted TTTT, he said it was the first show he ever hosted where he got to sit down. The last too I think.
@@balconi89 well in recent years he's been sitting for Jeopardy for what that's worth
Loved him on Classic Concentration.
Trebek’s podium now has a seat for him in Jeopardy!
@@marywatkins9438 Reunited with Gene Wood.
I am so surprised to hear the theme music to Double Dare! That's because this theme was also used for the first version of Card Sharks, broadcast in the late 1970s.
Alex certainly paid his dues getting to "Jeopardy!"
According to Alex's memoirs he never turned down a job offer--jut in case they didn't come again.
and 3 Years later after this was posted we Losted Alex Trebek! RIP Alex Trebek
I heard that Alex isn't doing so well. He brought me here today. God bless you Alex.He has the same cancer my Father In Law died of... so sad.
RIP Alex, and thanks.
He is a legend. I miss him. Rest in peace to him!.
RIP Alex Trebek 1940-2020
RIP Alex Trebek💕🥺
He pass away! 80 years old. July 22, 1940 - November 8, 2020
We miss you!!! 😭😭
RIP Alex Trebek thanks for the memories
RIP Alex Trebek The GOAT of game show hosts
7-22-1940 - 11-8-2020
I liked James Holzauers tribute to him. GHOST: Greatest Host of Syndicated TV.
Rip Alex Trabek, thank you for everything
wow, I had no clue he was the host of so many game shows.
OMG Those sets!!!!
Before Jeopardy and all the other shows on this page, Alex was the host of "Reach For The Top" where 2 teams of Canadian high school students would compete to answer questions like the ones you might hear on "Jeopardy". One of the most famous contestants on the show was future Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
Malcolm was eventually reworked into Stretchy MacGillicuddy on a few occasions on Saget's AFV.
My favorite Alex Trebek-hosted game shows are these: Jeopardy! (and that includes all J! shows that he's hosted including Suoer Jeopardy!), Classic Concentration, The $128,000 Question, Battlestars, Double Dare (1976-77), Pitfall, To Tell The Truth, and High Rollers.
So he was known as the "star" on the $128,000 Question. I remember an interview where he always saw himself as the Master of Ceremonies, and the contestants were the stars. Probably why he was almost always introduced as the "host", or some clever quip.
Malcolm looks like Olaf from Frozen.
Ah Alex. You were like an end of an era for game show hosts. RIP
Did I just hear Gene Wood as the announcer for Classic Concentration? I remember him on the original Family Feud when it was hosted by Richard Dawson and then Ray Combs
I never did like Jeopardy
However i am so very sorry that Alex got sick and passed away. RIP. He seen like a vice nice man. I was so very sorry when i heard about his death.
Praying for Alex's healing.
Amen please lord heal Alexander trebek
He's gone.
He died! on November 8, 2020
God: "You were only 4 prayers short. Better luck next time! This way Mr. Trebek.."
Damn. That's life. And death. Thank you for playing Jeopardy. RIP Alex
He most hold the record for the most games shows ever hosted by same person.
RIP 😟❤️
RIP Alex
Alex: "I never got paid for Pitfall!"
The only cheque he ever got for hosting "Pitfall" bounced. He kept it framed in his home office.
They could make a video containing only the various Jeopardy! openings from over the years.
My idol and influence
When Alex Trebek leaves Jeopardy you will never see Alex Trebek on T.V again.
Eric Purkey infomercial s
Maybe it will be a guess host
Because...he’ll be dead?
Have you never heard of reruns?
And now he’s dead. R.I.P. to a legend
I think that you're the only one that has the opening (or any part of) Wizard of Odds, so thank you for that!
R.I.P. Alex Trebek
ALEX TREBEK YOU SOON BE MISSED.
Wow, Alex Trebek must’ve had a humongous experience with game shows over the years. I grew up with them. Double Dare, Get The Picture, Nick Arcade, Guts, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Figure It Out, Mad Libs, and Jeopardy!.
Me too!
Well I am sad to see Alex Trebek leave.
RIP Alex you will be missed sir.
With all the game shows he's hosted, I think he found his niche with Jeopardy. R.I.P Alex. And Thank you for the knowledge and the laughs.
" And now here's the host of jeopardy alex-trebek" johnny-gilbert on jeopardy 9/26/1994.
"Double Dare's" music is the same as "Card Sharks".
Same production company, same composer. And if I recall, Double Dare didn't last very long.
Card Sharks. Jim Parry, correct?
@@sikwilly45 correct
@@sikwilly45 It’s Jim Perry.
@@reinnegroni8462 My mistake.
“Why do I keep going into these WEIRD accents? I can’t figure out what I AM!”
Alex was a popular game show host. May he #RIP.
To give more information, Alex Trebek's famous work at Jeopardy! began in 1983, with the syndicated version's 1st Pilot. Sadly, that episode is lost! But there are a bunch of images, and their contents looked too modern at the time. Even the studio's podiums and board resembled PCs from that era, with Trebek entering from the "Disk Drive" of the Board PC!
I noticed the announcer for the shows Alex Trebek was hosting has been announcing on almost show he’s been on
Rest In Paradise Alex Trebek...
I remember Alex Trebek hosted "Jeopardy!".
We will miss you Alex 😩 Alex also did the 2nd pilot of the game show Starcade
I never knew Double Dare and Card Sharks had same theme song
Pitfall looking 80s AFFFFF.
I realize it was probably "wiped" by NBC but around 1980 or 81 Alex hosted a week of "Wheel of Fortune" episodes on NBC, and he also hosted one episode I believe April 1, 1997 in syndication while Pat & Vanna were contestants.
Woulda been 1980 I think for his first appearances, maybe even 1979. But not for sure on that.
@Anthony Guarino really why? is that episode around?
According to Alex (in an interview he gave to Harvey Levin a few years ago), he filled in as host of Wheel of Fortune briefly in 1980 after Chuck Woolery had attempted suicide.
It looks like country music week on THE NEW BATTLESTARS, which oddly enough wasn't carried in Nashville during its brief 13-week run.
RIP ❤️
i miss alex trebek.
RIP Alex Trebek.
How time flies...
I love high rollers, classic concentration , Wizards of Odds, Jeopardy
RIP George
I like classic concentration the most it's not just my childhood but it's also based off on concentration hosted by jack Clark
He will be missed
Rip alex
So apparently in the past even game shows looked like the oscars
rip alex 1940 - 2020
8:00 Ford Festiva! LOL!
RIP Alex Trebek
R.I.P Alex Trebek
That's not the first time Alex used that I deserve it remark on a game show. He did it few times on High Rollers.
I can't believe that the theme song for NBC's version of #CardSharks was the same theme song used for #DoubleDare (Not the Nickelodeon Marc Summers version)
Anyway, R.I.P. Alex! Thanks for the memories!
There has been a few instances of media with the same or similar titles, yet different subject matter:
* "Double Dare" 1976 and Nickelodeon's "Double Dare" (game shows)
* WTAE-TV 4's "Adventure Time" and Cartoon Network's "Adventure Time" (kids' TV)
* "Dennis the Menace" USA and "Dennis the Menace" UK (comic strips)
Orson Bean was one of the panelists on To Tell the Truth passed away early this year.
Be well, Alex!
After seeing that horrible garbage MALCOM...I am so happy Alex got the blessing of hosting JEOPARDY and became the LEGEND he will always be.
Prayers for Alex
Get well soon Alex! Also, Double Dare has the same theme as Card Sharks.
Very similar alright
@Leo Boateng true it does
❤❤❤❤❤
Concentration and of course Jeopardy! were his best work
Alex had to endure a lot of "clunkers" to finally get to Jeopardy-and even before this when he worked for the CBC in Canada I recall a few really lousy shows too
13:15 - I hope this is the episode with Sean Connery!
We meet again, Trebek!
