Nice commentary - I look forward to adding it to my collection some day. I probably like the more angular aesthetics of the face of the F-91w a bit better, but prefer the size and buttons on the W59 much more.
Maybe I’m like Lieutenant Columbo with regard to women “I like them rounder“.
So my preference goes for the W 59.
However as far as G-Shocks are concerned, the squares are my favorites.

You are a patient man! If I get a parcel I go get my knife and open it. Cant wait. Patience is hard for me haha! The W59 is certainly a upgrade. Its like an F91w for people with a bigger wrist! Nice cat! Wonder how the back light compares to the F91w...

You are right; after I finished editing I thought: I forgot to talk about the light!
It's not great, just like that of the F-91. However, despite what everyone says, I tested it in a completely dark room and I could see hours AND minutes.

Ich habe beide Modelle. Als erstes habe ich mir die w59 gekauft. Einen Monat später die f 91w. Die f 91w gefällt mir um einiges besser. Die w59 trage ich nicht mehr. Zudem ist das Modul der f 91 genauer. Die f 91 ist auch angenehmer zu tragen und sieht am Handgelenk grösser aus. Der 50m Dichtigkeitsunterschied ist für mich nicht wichtig denn die f 91 ist genauso wasserbeständig obwohl sie nur als 30 m ausgewiesen ist.
Thanks for this comment! you're right: Casio understates the water resistance of its watches, so, in the end with these two pieces it's all a matter of personal preference. I personally like the looks of the w-59 more, but the F-91 is a cool classic that will always be beautiful.

The model number is W-59B-1AVEF.
It’s hard to find.
I had seen it marked as “unavailable at the moment “ on Amazon a few years ago and I had put it up in my cart. After a few months it became available, but with a price of about 150€ : too much!
Then, one day, the price dropped to about 35€, and I bought it right away!
It stayed available only for a day and now it’s not available anymore.
In my Amazon cart I’ve had the white version (with a greenish nato strap) for more than a year now. I keep my fingers crossed to see if that becomes available too!
