I rode the Katy in the last week of June, 2014. It was so hot and humid I got heat stroke near Jeff City but finished to Clinton. Your ride brought so many memories. Everyone should do it but beware of the heat.

You need to have a T-shirt made that says, “I like my cabooses natural.” 😂 I’m a big fan of your editing and videography… but you already knew that. The cool thing about being a cyclist RUclipsr is…at the end of the year you have a video record of all the fun you had. Even the Type II fun. 😏
12:34 that little shack was one of the greatest things I came across on the KATY. I was hot and tired on my very first bike trip and an ice cream samich is exactly what I needed.
After buying several pair of “winter” gives that weren’t warm I finally found a pair that worked when it was below freezing and now riding in winter is a lot more comfortable.
@@stevekistler8970 I had it check Out probably ten years ago and the person acted like it wasn’t worth doing, and someone tried to say it again but i had done research and found out how important it is to breath through the nose. The recoup time sucked, but being able to breath is totally worth it
I recently came across your video on the Helene damage of the Va Creeper. My friends and I were to check in to an Airbnb in Damascus on Sept 29 to ride the trail, and obviously that didn't happen. The trail damage was mind-boggling. That aside, I am enjoying your trail videos to see some new ones that I hope to ride, and to revisit others that I have already ridden. Thanks for all that your are doing and I look forward to following you in 2025. BTW, I did subscribe :)
@@TheBane1979 Right off, I'll have to say the GAP and the C&O. My others the Island Line Trail in Vermont and the Withlacoochee State Trail in Florida.
Great adventures we did some the same ones , 2024 for me was eastern divide Asheville to Tallahassee, (started in DC nov 23) new river trail , C&O and Gap 4 times , Ohio to Erie , NH to Roanoke ( Eastern divide , Empire State trail , Pine creek trail , Skyline drive , blue ridge parkway )
2024 looked like a great year. Thanks for the beautiful photography, it makes me want to get out there. I rode the C and O and GAP the third week in August in the same direction. I am also an old cheep bastard so free camped and cooked all my meals. Did you hit the hike and bike detour? Happy trails.
Yeah, walking is too slow, driving is way to fast and bicycling is just right. I’am glad you’re riding some in winter. It’s just buying the right clothing- warm layers, warm gloves and I have a winter hat that covers my lower face - nice.
@ when your holding the camera and filming out in front of you. It seems when other people use the GoPro or the 360 it goes in and out of focus when pointing it out front of them.
