- This video is part of a build series where I re-build every Sanctuary Hills house without mods, each one having its own unique design. Join me building this realistic rooftop on the most broken house in Sanctuary Hills.

Even after all these years i never once thought of using the scaffolding to patch the sanctuary roof holes.

I use a mod that allows me to repair buildings i can't scrap in all the settlements, they're reapired but retain post war apearance, i use that mod as replacement for scrap everything. Scrap everything needs both update and thorough overhaul because as is it causes huge performance hit even on next gen.
This is amazing. It's frustrating that settlers can't pick up a broom and sweep the floor lol
Tell me about it! They can hammer away on the same piece of the buildings but not sweep up the piles of gunk everywhere!

That's brilliant, i love finding a way to restore existing buildings in settlements, but i never thought about that

One thing I found though is that you can take the large warehouse widows and by using the pillar glitch sink them partially into the ground and merge the into the houses so that the windows are completely replaced with unbroken glass 👍
I feel like this is the first time I've seen someone use those pieces for a roof. Looks great!!!
Such an elegantly simple solution. So many repair methods I have seen before this one use complicated structures glitched through the heart of the house to place rooves. But yours does nearly all of the fix without having to set anything up first. Only really the endcap you placed on the water end of the house needed a setup structure. Very cool and an idea I shall be trying to emulate in the very near future as I am currently building at Sanctuary. Thank you so much for posting this video.

After placing that first scaffolding frame...you can just snap the single floor pieceto add the next angled floor insteading of placing a row of scaffolding frame like you did where there was the chimney

I've seen a bunch of your builds. I'd love to see you make one look as clean and modern or pre-war as possible. I understand that's severely limited without mods though.
It looks good. Its nice you didnt use mods because the station blends in with its surroundings and doesn't look out of place. I would put the police scene outside the house too. But looks good

Good tip! I wonder if one could start with the pieces at the rooftop, the small square ones, and build from there. If possible, lining up perfectly in the middle.

Thats awesome man. Im gutted. I completely deleted everything from my sanctuary and didnt create a save beforehand. Deleted all the houses and rebuilt with my own structures but i miss the origional sanctuary. I want it back so much.

Why didn’t you use your scaffold floor trick for the front side like you did on the back? It seems easier than trying to line up the scaffolding.

Workshop rearranged is good for this because they snap together
i have the SCAP mod where you can remove clutter and its soo hard to do the rug glitch, could that be the cause of it? literally never works
2:45 minutes in, do the scaffolding planks count in the settlers satisfaction rating? Its a great idea if it works because those roofs are a nightmare to repair. I mean, do they count as roof protection?

Rug glitch isnt working for me on the sides, staircase keeps sinking into dirt
As for your workaround for the chimney, why don't you use that method to align ALL the slanted sections instead of placing the extra scaffolding?

1:19 Instead of snapping in scaffolding frames couldn't you just snap in scaffolding floor pieces? That would keep everything perfectly aligned and you wouldn't need to make the frame legs go through the existing roof.....2:39 Just like you ended up doing here.
6:18 Settlers and companions can and will open doors but their programming won't let them close doors. When using doors in unorthodox ways like you did here it is a good idea to place the door away from it's final position, exit build mode and open the door, and then reenter build mode and move the door where you want it. If you don't do that you will often find them randomly opened and sitting roughly 90 degrees out of position to where you want them.
I've tried to build this multiple times, but I can't get the planks to stack on top of each other.
same I can't do it on the yellow houses
Aren’t they scaffolding ramps? I think they come with the Contraptions Workshop dlc. Very useful dlc I wouldn’t be without it.
I regret scrapping so many cabinets and kitchen surfaces now 😂
Can you create a scrappy build for this specific house like your boxcar house? I tried building that design on this house and it just would not work whatsoever
Maybe try using the pillar glitch instead? I’ll be explaining it in my next video which will be out today
Are those sloping wood panels and the tubular railings part of a mod? I don't have them in my vanilla game (I just started playing this week).

@@bae2072 i know and it's such a disapointment but i do have few mods that help with fixing things with settlements i didn't like.
so it looks great....but wont this count as flooring? So any settlers living in that house will be unhappy because they dont have a roof?

It just needs to block rain from hitting the bed, which I'm sure floors do as well.
You can check on pc with the console by using "getav 334" on the bed. 1 means it's covered 0 means it's not.
Worse case scenario it will just slightly cap happiness below 100, not drain it.
@@Beefyface nope.....if you use a floor as a roof...the settlers act like there is no roof. Even if you use the 2nd story wood that is MADE to be a roof and a floor....the settlers act like they are outside. They need an actual roof....has to be called a roof in the workshop to get the happiness bonus. At least that is how it works on ps4

The only problem is the roof you've made is a walkable platform, so your settlers will spawn on the roof & be stuck up there 😄🤷

Two glitches that I just can't build in FO4 without is the Rug glitch and the Cement Pillar glitch.

I just prefer to use mod to unlock achievements when using mods + place everywhere. No more pain in ass when im trying to do anything with my settlements,
