    Don't get me wrong, Samsung and LG are amazing TVs if you get the right one. Otherwise they are nothing special. We have 2 Samsung Q series TVs and a 7 series at my work. I LOVE the Samsung picture quality, but cannot justify the price. I have an E55-e1 "Smartcast monitor" (no tuner) and I love it. at Walmart, I had my choice of a 50" LG that cost about $50 more and a Samsung that is about $250 more. I chose the Vizio because I liked the picture quality and didn't want to spend a lot. Although I LOVE Roku devices, most Roku TVs are cheap and lousy picture quality (Hisense and TCL and Onn and Phillips etc). Best Buy didn't hae what I wanted in my price range (less than $400). I am pleased with my Visio V series TV.

    2 questions.... How is the quality when watching sports? And what's the life span for this particular V series? Just asking so I know if I should buy the 3 or 5 year extended warranty... thank you!

    • @LoveWhatYouDo
      @LoveWhatYouDo  4 года назад +2

      The quality is good for sports in my opinion. Life span is always difficult to determine. Some TVs last for many years, others have issues earlier than that. The tv that I own has had no issues. I am not someone who buys insurance. When a tv does give me issues, I either get it fixed or buy a new one depending on the cost of the repair. Insurance is a waste of money if you never need it, but very valuable if your tv starts having issues prematurely. If you are a person that likes to have an extended warranty, get the one you can afford. Luckily, the VIZIO TVs are very reasonably priced, so buying an extended warranty or just buying a replacement tv won’t cost you an arm and a leg.

    What TV brand has better picture quality in terms of led panels LG or Vizio?

    • @herranton
      @herranton 3 года назад +2

      It entirely depends on the tvs you are comparing. My 65 inch m series looks a lot better than my buddies budget lg 65 inch. But my room is dark.
      The lg oleds ($$$$) are going to destroy even the vizio p series tvs, even though they are really really nice for the price.
      I think vizio provides better image quality than lg at comparable prices. BUT, I have no doubt that the lg will be better built and might be a bit brighter, which matters if you have a bright room.
      On just image quality alone though, dollar for dollar, you really can't beat vizio.
      I really like tcl too, but, there is a panel lottery. You may get a good one or you may get a bad one. If you don't mind returning the tv a few times to get a decent panel, tcl is also an option.

      I think that happens with most tvs. It is helpful to control the light in the room for the best viewing experience . That's why movie theaters are blacked out. That being said, this tv does pretty well in a bright room in my opinion. In our home theater room, we use these on the windows (good for blocking light and improving sound):

      This TV easily allows you to adjust the picture it takes only seconds -- a couple of clicks. My room does not have blinds or curtains so I use "Calibrated" in the daytime and and "Calibrated Dark"for the darkened room at night. There are a couple of other options, including one to wildly over brighten for a fairyland sort of affect...which might be cool for a few movies that lend themselves to that, like Avatar.
      Vizio has produced multiple short videos to explain how to use most of it's key features, including one on how to adjust the picture and why you might want to. It is super short and clear (I watched it in English, not sure what other languages they have.) I think I watched these videos on the Target.com website down at the bottom of the product listing. ++cj

    • @herranton
      @herranton 3 года назад +2

      Vizio isn't known for their brightness. If you are in a bright room, a tcl or hisense is a better budget choice. Vizio has a lot better image quality and colors compared to the two big chinese brands, just not brightness. I have mine in the basement (though a 65" m8) and it looks awesome with Dolby vision. Way better than my friends hisense 9 series. But no where near as bright.
      If you want iq in a dark area, get a vizio. If you have a bright room, the two chinese brands are probably better, dollar for dollar.

      Janelee - Since you wrote this is 2 weeks ago I assume you have your headphone workaround but I am responding in case someone else has same issue:
      This product does not have blue tooth...it also does not have a standard 3.5 headphone jack. huh? Yes, these dual lacks resulting in a huge feature drawback; so silly of Vizio.. I almost did not buy for this reason. The on board sound is good but they are hoping to sell soundbars? To me headphones are not an alternative to soundbars...they have their own reason to be needed.
      Options:
      1) Check out the Optical Jack headphones suggestion by "Love What You Do" in the comments above.
      2) What I decided to do was to purchase jack converter pieces to convert the Stereo Out to create my own 3.5 jack. One piece is being shipped so I will delete this if I do not find the result good. (Bought these two pieces from Office Depot - totaling about $12 expense to try to keep my existing headphone collection.)

      No, only the p series vizio tvs will support the higher bandwidth needed for variable refresh rate or 120hz gaming.
      The rest of the line will feature certain aspects of the 2.1 standard, but they won't have the bandwidth for the higher resolutions. No I don't know why they did this. Probably as a marketing ploy.
      Don't get any vizio tv if you want the faster refresh rates for gaming, unless it is a p series.
      The info can be found online to be corroborated.

    • @herranton
      @herranton 3 года назад +9

      All the hdmi ports should support 4k. This isn't 2006 anymore. Make sure your source is 4k.
      Press info on the remote. A bar should drop down from the top. From left to right it should go time-> wifi-> audio mode-> hdr mode-> resolution.
      2160p means 4k.
      Make sure your source will output that. If you have a cable box, make sure it is outputting 4k, etc. Blurays will be 1080p unless you have a uhd player and discs. Most streaming boxes are too.
      The tv should switch resolution to what the source is giving it. When I go from my Apple tv 4k to the ps4, the tv info bar drops down and shows me the new resolution.

      I actually just bought it Friday specifically for my ps5. Tbf, there's not too many games that support 4k res just yet (I think there's really only one) but you'll definitely get the upgrade of colors and refresh rates. I notice minor details that I couldn't notice on a Standard 1080 TV... Also, at the price point you can't really argue. I've had several Vizio TVs over the years and have nothing but good experiences.
