I just bought a 2023 C40 Recharge Ultimate leftover model that the dealer was trying to move quickly for 2024 units. I got it for almost half the MSRP. Best vehicle purchase ive ever made. I can't stop taking it out for fun!
I have a polestar 2 so basically same infotainment. When you move the AC to 3, that’s the auto setting. If you adjust the temperature it will slow down or speed up the fan depending on what temperature you set it to.
Have the 2023 C40, but twin motor which decreases the 0-60 to 4.3 seconds. Very good review and hit the pros and cons. The rear window view is my biggest complaint. The video doesn’t do justice to the interior quality. There are some pretty good discounts on it which makes it attractive for an around town vehicle.
Hertz is dumping its EVs. I just bought a 2023 C40 twin motor with 14K miles for $28K through Carvana. 400 hp and Volvo luxury & safety for the price of a Civic!
I've driven the Recharge. Really nice, and QUICK! Haven't driven the Audi. However, after driving the Recharge, I don't know how ANYONE could go back to an ICE vehicle and wait for revs to build and the worse NVH.
The problem is if you want adaptive cruise control and pilot assist, you have to buy the Ultimate version. Those are things I would expect on every model.
You can actually have it activated by reprogramming the computer, they all come with the hardware. Doing this however definitely voids the warranty, but I imagine it would be quite easy to get away with.
I would wait until the next model year. It'll have some good and needed upgrades, along with a renaming to EC40. The XC40 Recharge will get the same and renamed the EX40.
One thing to be aware of, YOU CANNOT PLUG A USB STICK in and Play Music files without downloading AUDIOWAGON, yes it's STAGGERING Volvo don't support audio playback in an APP of their own. And to top that EVERY TIME you switch on you have to confirm twice in a POP UP so that the usb device can be used. I came across this when I bought my C40 and EVERYTHING WORKED !! Then guess what... VOLVO upgraded the software AND REMOVED THE FACILITY TO PLAY DIRECTLY FROM ANDROID !!, this happened 2 weeks after I bought it, LIVID ain't the half of it !!

"To the door panel"
I'll never get tired of hearing that line. Thanks for sharing Joe.
I love that rear wheel drive is making a comeback.
Same here!
Love EVs for their design flexibility.

Have you considered their digital mirror that uses a camera? it's pricey, but would solve the issue.
@@hereigoagain5050 Have not looked at that. Have just adapted my style. Four months after purchasing and still happy with the car.
@@ericlundberg5471 Great! A Reddit post said the hardware is $800 and total cost $3K. That's insane. My RAV4 has one.
Joe and Lori and Steve keep up the good work real true and I love the video 👍
You got it my brother!
Greetings from the u.k. got one on order cant wait good vlog.
Joe, bringing the suprise reviews as always 👌 By the way, I perfer the look of the XC40 recharge, IMO.
Thanks man for letting me share it with you!
How would you compare it vs the audi q4 e-tron?
RWD is always a plus imo. And it doesn't look like an EV marshmallow.
Cheap as heck looking interior/infotainment
Yes of course Joe & I be happy to afford this.
That is so wonderful!
Stop wasting your cash on foot long meatball sandwiches and tins of herring :)
Amazing review Joe.

Joe hasn’t met a solid white line that he doesn’t want to cross. 😝
Both are nice options, it's a matter of the budget.
That is such a good statement
For $59,000, the interior is most definitely not up to par.
This looks like the BMW x6 with the slanted body style

I appreciate you sharing your honest opinions as always.

Are these made in China like new S90?
No.
Produced in Gent (Belgium) or in Sweden
if you are in the market for a c40. maybe look at a polestar too.

Volvo has been catching my attention a lot.
wheels look like theyre from hotwheels

For 59,000… I’m out.
Hertz is dumping their EVs. You can get a 2023 C40 for less than $30K. Check out Hertz's store or Carvana.

Volvo needs to ditch those piano black interiors
I overlook any Chinese brand until Democracy and Human Rights are restored to Hong Kong .
Fantastic! I hope you trashed your phone, laptop, TV, ....

No, both unreliable
Have the 2023 C40, can't stand it! Awful build quality and customer service that can care less!
Not a fan of Volvos
