I started to listen to your podcast on Spotify about two months ago and I've been listening everyday now I'm on episode 141,just wanted to say you are an genius man thanks so much
Hello, Luke. my name is Joel and I'm from Rio de Janeiro Brazil. I just study your lesson and actually shared your RUclips Channel Video everyday. I think you are really a fantastic teacher. I wish success in this important enterprise. A big hug. See you later.
luke, I've been here for ages, at the very beginning I was so confused to learn English effortless, Idk anything about. all my confusion is faded over the time as I watch your videos over and over. and for now on I can 100% understand English as well. Thank you for your existence .
As soon as I hear you speaking , I'm over the moon, your voices makes me high in a very positive way 😂 and buckle down on improving myself in life in general, I'm coming from your Spotify podcast by the way:)
I enjoyed so much this podcast, Luke and Sarah. I guess "buoy" was the most shocking part for me too - the pronunciation is so different. I've learned so much from you guys. Thank you, again:)
I really enjoyed watching this episode. I've been listening to your podcasts for more than one year. I'm passionate about English language and adore the British accent. It's my favourite. I'm an English teacher and I feel different and unique with my British accent.
I recently found out your podcast and have started studying with it. I actually used to listen to videos in American English. You made me get interested in British English. I'll keep listening to your podcast.
Hello there! I am so happy because I saw the entire episode without English Subtitles it was a great video listening you both guys with your different English accents.
Fantastic episode. I enjoyed it. It would be nice to do an episode about the French words in British English. They're many and their pronunciation is so difficult and funny. Thank you very much Luke and Sarah.
Also in Italy we call it Turkish toilet. It used to be popular until the fifties I guess. I saw one recently in the courtyard of an old public housing and still used as a café's toilet. It is actually quite hygenic because only your feet touch the toilet. It also puts you in what doctors call an anatomically correct position =)
Hello Luke You're incredible teacher with great english teaching skills. i'm remembering Sarah from the last episode.. it was the first time i had learned the word chalk..when you and Sarah tells the differnt pronounciation between American and british english for it , i was having a nice laughter over chalk and chaaalk😄. Thank you ver much
This kind of videos are really helpful for all Spanish people who want to improve our English for a better opportunity 😃👌 thanks so much and greetings from Costa Rica 🇨🇷
Yesterday I had a really funny conversation. I told a friend about some words from the Podcast and the friend did'nt believe me, you don't say "Downtown" in british English. The argument was the series "Downtown Abbey" is set in Britain. :D I had to laugh so hard.
Hi there. We've got two types of toilets here in Türkiye. The usual type is referred to as the "alafranga" (from French, meaning French style) and the "alaturka" (meaning Turkish style); the one you mention is the second type. They're equally common in most restrooms I'd say because like you said people believe the alaturka toilet is healthier, cleaner, etc. Also as you know we do use our hands and water to wipe, as a side note. That's why we've also got water pipes going in the alafranga type of toilet.
Hello! I'm from Russian, Bryansk and here some schools, kindergartens and universities still have these so-called Turkish toilets, and yes they're double or even triple with no partition 😥
I like so much listen to British English but I'm unable to speak that, so I speak American English accent and this makes me so much happy because It wasn't my intention to sound American but I have it just from the box - no much effort to achieve. Cheers!
Turkish here. There are closet toilets and classic toilets in modern houses. The classic toilet is more hygienic, healthier, and most importantly, it does not freeze your region in winter. And we don't call it Turkish toilet
but of course you don't call it a turkish toilet! even in bologna the people don't call pasta with minced meat "pasta bologbese', but everybody else does!
Thank you very much both of you .good is comparing two accent nice to listening also have a joke this is good to see cheerfully take time to listen from always get general knowledge nothing doing at home if have possible time wellcome listening again good thanks.
This is a very nice conversation ,i learnt lot , this is very important for me as a tour guide in srilanka , we have deferent type of toilets in old capital cities .
Hi, Luke! This episode is relevant to me. I wanted to know more of those words that have different meanings in different languages (UK and US English) after I once learned the difference between trousers and pants 😮😅 it’s so funny
It seemed to me that you say "grocery" differently: you Luke say like "gro sə ry" and Sarah say like "gro ʃə ry" or something like that (if I'm not wrong). Either way, thank you very much for this very helpful and pleasant conversation 👋
RUclips uses algorithms to decide which videos to promote. One of the factors which affects whether videos get promoted by RUclips’s algorithms is if people like and subscribe while watching.
Greeting from Indonesia....talking about toilet that Indonesia traditionally has a toilet which is at the same level with the floor that user step ...so user has to squat down. ...it will confuse European n American I think.
As a Turkish listener, I would like to add something about toilet hygiene. We are using water for cleaning ourselves after the toilet thing. It is quite an effective way. By the way, Luke, you are the best...😊
Nice episode! I learnt new things! I never knew you don't say "Downtown" in the UK! Haha, I also know a lot of people, who say "Downtown Abbey". :D I hate this Turkish toilets. When I was traveling to Turkey and Italy I was a real problem for me. :(
Hello folks, is there someone else who noticed kinda popping sound at 8:50 min. of the video. Was it a proper fart or just innocent burp? 😁 Sorry. Cheers.
Hi Luke Thank you for your efforts and prolific contents. I'm from Iran and I am one of your aficionados. In my country, due to tyranny sanctions on banking system, I'm not capable of using your premium service. What would be your solution?
I don’t understand why Sarah is so obsessed with the Turkish Toilet ? ıs that the only place to talk about in that beautiful building ? How about your beautifully furnished office ??

I think the buoy comes from the word buoyancy .
Amazing man
I don't have to say keep it up but keep it up 😄
hey Luke what do you mean when you say it helps the algorithm ?

Luke as proper English man you had to sing Sweet for my Sweet by the Searchers after Sarah Donnely sang I Want Candy by Bow Wow Wow 🍭🍬🍫🍭🍪
😂True!
We Turks say it 'Ayakyolu'(the way to feet) or 'Hela' 😀
As a Turkish listener, I would like to add something about toilet hygiene. We are using water for cleaning ourselves after the toilet thing. It is quite an effective way. By the way, Luke, you are the best...😊
Lol
Hi Like, a duvet is a spare blanket and comes from French.❤
She is so funny 🤣
Love that toilet talk and love it more after the Amber and Paul one. And Sarah has a very beautiful and attractive voice😘!
Nice episode!

I hate this Turkish toilets. When I was traveling to Turkey and Italy I was a real problem for me. :(
Very nice!
I like podcast , but no subtitle 😢
Automatic subtitles are available.
Turkish toilet is healthier than others, but it's better to have both some people can't use the Turkish , Especially those with feet or back pain
Hello folks, is there someone else who noticed kinda popping sound at 8:50 min. of the video. Was it a proper fart or just innocent burp? 😁 Sorry. Cheers.
we definitely need a time code with "buoy" moment....

Hi Luke
Thank you for your efforts and prolific contents.
But then how does Sara pronounce a pull-buoy for swimming ? A "pull-bouee" ?
I wonder anyone noticed Sarah’ broken nail before she said that, haha
I'm from Paris .. you manke me laugh 😂
I am Turkish and your listener newly :)
Stories ❤
We still have been using Turkish toilet in Turkey 😅😅😅😅
But we don't call it Turkish toilet
I think it was a bit offensive for people from North Carolina 😁
«since Donald Trump was elected it’s worse and worse to be American” 😂😂😂 say it to russian guys (how it’s to be Russian)
sometimes it seems all the people comes to your podcast are English teacher and stendup comedians
