This is why I love and enjoy learning languages (though I still have a long way to go). It just opens up a whole new world to cultures and all, and also helps me understand why some groups of people behave or say things they do.

I can relate to almost every 'very british problem' that you mentioned. I'm from Argentina and I thought it was only me, being awkward and weird hahaha. I suppose is quite universal, I mean, a certain percentage of people being born this way, me included, and the culture and upbringing playing its part in making it better or worse. Thank you so much! It was fun!

Great video Luke! I feel the same way when leaving a store if I didn't buy anything, as Michael said: “look casual, look like you're not stealing something” 😅 and if I enter the place with a bag I have to tell the employees that it is mine so they don't think I put something inside it before leaving. I'm from Argentina and this is not a common feature of people from my country but whenever I'm near some kind of authority, be it the police, a teacher, etc, I feel the need to be accepted by them as a proof that I've followed the rules and that I'm an ethical and well-behaved person, but it's just my personality

I listened this video by accident this morning, your experience in the process of learning a foreign language really reminds me of the numerous difficulties and embarrassing moments I had faced while on the road towards English learning. Be that as it may, I still have struggles and confusions on how to pronounce in a British way or how to speak British English for foreigners like me while also in America, especially when working or studying together, Americans always talk super loud voice, which will make my British pronunciation influenced by American accents. Another thing I find that when foreigners like us speak British English, Americans often couldn't understand that, even when the speaker standing right in front of them, Americans tend to ask you again in loud voice, make me feel like there is a mountain between us. How to let Americans understand our British way but also not influenced by their American accents.

And yes, to a taxi driver I always say exactly that “Anywhere here is fine, thanks“😉
Also, I start making rustling sounds and micro-movements on a bus before I have to disturb🙃
I sure feel relieved after having shown my ticket to the ticket inspector😆
So yes, I suppose these are universal things.

I did not know what was that.
