Thank you, that's very kind. One reason I enjoy posting these videos is that it forces me to look back at the footage and appreciate the journey we are all on when building a layout.
The scene so far looks amazing and the resin pour will make a massive difference. As you said I added my river scenes around 4-5 weeks ago now, cant believe that long ago after such procrastination. I do fully get where youre coming from and it was that very same anxiety that held me back too. Your setup seems very different to mine, but looks as if it should be fine no leaks. Its the part where the river meets the board edges. Tape and seal with hot glue, easy to peel off after I choose to use real water to test, and sponge it out, but that was my choice. It did give me confident though to proceed once I knew whether I had further leaks. Gratefully I didnt use the resin to test. There are loads of videos to watch: Luke Towan is amazing, dont forget Kathy Millatt and Geek Gaming Scenics among many American channels. You will feel so much more confident once the first is done. Itll be great. (thanks for the mention btw).
Thanks! It sometimes feels like I'm not making progress, but when I feel like that I now know to go watch old videos to show myself everything is moving forwards.
It will look fantastic once you add the water, i have used resin on a viaduct and another bridge, having a blow lamp takes out bubbles etc instantly. The resin can be colored if required.
When you add the resin you can build up layers of the resin. As you add new resin to old the surface of the old will blend with the new resin and there is no lines or any way to know you did not do it in one pour. You did such a good job on the rocks I would only use clear resin without any coloring. You just want to add depth with the water and the rocks will complete the illusion. Great job, mate........
Thanks, that approach would certainly make me feel a lot less nervous. I was thinking about adding colour to the resin but was also not wanting to obscure too much detail. I might use the airbrush to add a little more colour variation to the river bed first, then go with clear resin as you suggested.
Looks fantastic! Really impressive!
Thanks, that's very kind of you to say so.
Thanks for sharing. My viaduct section is still bare board so this has helped inspire confidence greatly
That great to hear, thanks! Look forward to seeing some videos of it when its done.
Wow, what a fantastic scene. Realy well done and appreciate you sharing the tips! Also - a lovely outro.
Thanks! Glad my experiences were useful and I'm now really starting to enjoy seeing trains running through the landscape.
@@DonningtonCastleModelRailway I can see why. The shots are lovely.
Great video really enjoyed it and it’s looking great 👍

Thank you, that's all really great advice and gives me a few more things to go and watch.
Cracking modelling. Your layout is really developing.

This is awesome and it's given me confidence to give it a go on an area of my layout that i didn't know what to do with. Excellent work.
It always feels good to inspire someone to go try something new on their own layout. Thanks and hope everything goes well.

Thank you, that's a really useful tip. I'm watching some more of your videos now as I really like the landscapes you've created.
@@DonningtonCastleModelRailway Thank you, i used resin as my daughter got into resin art. Cheers
Check out Richard (Everard Junction) where he did his canal - ideas there on how to seal the ends of the river for resin pour.
That's a great shout, thanks!!
Excellent work. Commentary spoiled a little by the multitude of ‘kind of’s
Thank you and noted. I'll certainly now be more conscious of not using that phrase in future.
