Although it's a parable, it is "set" on the Jerusalem to Jericho road and there is an inn in the story, so it's unsurprising that such an inn would pop up. What really happened: Satan: If you're really the son of God, jump and the angels will catch you. Jesus (looks down): Hum, yeah, you know what... I.... YOU SHALL NOT TEST GOD!!! When you think about it, it doesn't take a lot of will not to jump off a cliff :P.
