@KayBeeEee1983 I think he's saying that being circumcised wont be the whole reason to keep you out of Hell...Paul said let it be a shame for a man to have long hair.....Did not Solomon lose his strength when he cut his hair...The Letters and the Scriptures are two diff. things.
I'm a little confused, and would like (preferably a biblical scholar) someone to clear me up on this. So God establishes the Law of Moses, which is "good and holy", so that his people can be righteous in his eyes - but after Jesus, the Law will condemn his followers and is unholy, despite being ordained by God? Their textual explanation is a little odd - could someone perhaps expound upon this? The Law of Moses includes things such as prohibitions on idolatry and adultery, things which early christians would've held as verboten. The scholars here seem to be arguing that Paul was arguing that the Law no longer be followed - yet parts of the Law of Moses are integral to the Christian faith (like not worshiping other gods, etc.) Is there something that the scholars here are leaving out? Very much enjoying the videos, and much appreciated to anyone who could help!
@KayBeeEee1983 Lol...Thanks for the correction...it was Samson..my mind if full info. I aint knockn circumcisn..jus sayn..Alot of People have a problem w/ understanding Paul..
I think it would be safe to say that if "Paul's teachings aren't Christian", as you say, then it discredits the bible as a whole. As for circumcision, Paul isn't knocking on it. As a Jew, he was definitely circumcised himself. What he was condemning was the people who were coming into the Christian church and saying the circumcision was necessary for salvation, when the bible clearly states that salvation is found by faith alone in Jesus and is not tied in in any way with the law.
There are 27 books in the NT, so 13 is only slightly under 50%. No other Biblical person wrote as many canonical books as Paul. If you say that Paul's teachings aren't Christian, you're saying a huge chunk of the NT isn't Christian. Since the NT is the primary text & basis of Christianity, that makes no sense.
do you think it is possable for paul to have seen jesus alive before the cross in person ?
