Went to so many concerts here…..just seeing that opening shot of outside the old stadium brought so many memories back…..I was 17 when I saw Pink Floyd put on animals….it was amazing….along with all of the other World Series of Rock concerts…..we loved them all.

Great, priceless footage. I was too young to attend these shows, but wmms sponcered them and you'd start hearing commercials on the radio. These shows were no vans warped tour, all of the bands at every show were top notch talent, and the old lady on the lake was the perfect venue.

Some people in the comments are saying this was 1974. I was born in 1974. After many years of observation and the older I get, the more apparent a painful truth becomes. People are having less and less fun as time moves on. Concerts like this from the 70's, 80's, and 90'slook out of this world energetic and magical. The biggest concert I ever went to that was similar to a concert in an outdoor stadium like in this video was October 3, 1992 Metallica/Guns N' Roses, Motorhead, Body Count at the Pasadena Rose Bowl. Completely sold out too. I am hoping some day more of these bands will take the initiative to release the pro shot concert footage of these massive concerts like in this video. It seems very rare to find concert footage of festival type concerts like this where there are several different bands performing.

1:36 I remember when Stroh's cans looked like this. 1:42 and Stroh's had bottles like this. In 1974 I was 12, I didn't make it to this show. 1977 through 1979 I remember carrying our own coolers into the stadium for shows. Too many numbers, I need a beer.

I think that's Santana so I went to this show. Crosby Stills Nash and Young were the headline act. I suppose its statistically a waste of time to try and find myself in the stands in the closer shots.

I was at that one. Peter Tosh and Kansas opened. Went to Cedar Point the next day. Great weekend to be 16 years old. Was either this Stones show or Fleetwood Mac/Utopia later in the summer that it rained during the day. We piled up some trash on the plastic carpet that was laid on the field. Too wet to get it lit though. Some dude did a high wire walk above the lower end of the stadium in the wind and rain.

Tom, Concerts there were great. All general admission. So free to wander around, sit down or stand wherever you wanted. It would probably have sucked with reserved seating though.

This is footage from two different concerts the first footage of the stadium is from before they added loges I think that was done around 1975. In the helicopter footage you can see the loges were there so had to be late 70’s. Man that’s ALOT of trash!! I went to many Indians games there in the late 80’s early 90’s I miss that place! Carry in coolers were a thing then. Which led to copious amounts of trash. At Fleetwood Mac in 1978 we stacked coolers next to the 8 foot high plywood wall in front of the stage. Stood on them and was able to watch their whole set from about ten feet away. Had a crush on Stevie Nicks when I was 16.
