Have you ever wondered where your soul goes after this life? We are sinners despite any tiny sins we commit like lying, bad thoughts, or cussing. It doesn't even matter how many good deeds we do because one little sin is bad enough already. We cannot make it up to heaven on our own will. Wow, this is how Rock'n'Roll has to be played. Quick, rough and dirty. And every time Bon Scott is nailing it. His presence even after all these years is unbelievable. He is pure Rock'n'Roll and the perfect singer for ACDC forever. Angus is unbelievable too and so is the whole band.
This is a masterclass in how to perform a studio song live. With power, drive and nail biting precision. Most great bands could only dream of nailing their own songs like this.
This has always been my favorite AC/DC song; literally 3 in one. Angus' performance is simply monumental; no one is able to play such complex riffs while incessantly running about + jumping + head banging on stage like this. Rip Bon Scott & Mal.
Back in the day bands didn't want AC/DC to support them because they blew everyone off the stage back then. An exception was AC/DC's supporting of The Who at Wembley in August 1979 (10 months after I first saw them...)
Seeing Bon bounce out at the start is bloody awesome- this track simply incredible! It cooks along like nobody’s business and blows me away every time.
If you haven't done it yet, go to around 3:55, turn it up to the max, and listen for the band to kick back in right before Angus takes off across the stage. Such an unbelievably tight band. Listen to the hi-hat and cymbals on the drums. The timing. The bass, guitar, and drums pick up at EXACTLY the same time. Lots of people dismiss their music as simple, when it's anything but. They are master musicians and very well practiced. Probably THE best rhythm section in music history right there.
Dead right Reno. Unless you’re a hard rock enthusiast and have been listening to hard rock for 40 years like myself. Most fans miss how tight and to the beat these guys play too. Malcolm ( RIP ) and Angus are like well oiled machines and it’s like they are joined at the hip. There’s nothing simple about keeping perfect timing
I've heard a lot of bands do AC/DC tunes. Almost no-one really approaches them for tightness, tone and nuance. As well as the rhythm section being tight, it's miraculous how accurate Angus manages to be while he's headbanging like a madman. Late 70s Angus Young is an absolute force of nature the way he charges across the stage, and it's like he's diving into battle when he comes off that amp at the beginning of the song.
And its worth noting that before Ang rips into yet another solo his guitar work is as much part of that rythym section as the rest of the band. Angus plays rythym and lead...just like Chuck Berry did.
The whole "If you want blood ." Album deafened me. Used to listen to the cassette hooked to an amp and Lloyd's speakers, one on each side of my head. Every note, beat, pause, cheer memorized. Riff Raff, Whole Lotta Rosie, Let There Be Rock, High Voltage, The Jack with 2 solos...the whole album so great. The band so tight! Bon vocals, Angus...awesome. Nothing like it will ever compare.
I saw ACDC in 78 with Bon, my ears were ringing 3 days later! When they came out it was like someone had smacked you in the mouth. Never been to a better gig since, the walls were wet with sweat, it was insane.

Angus is an anomaly. He is probably in better shape than a marathon runner and never had to run a day in his life. The guy's energy and performance onstage are electrifying.
I'm amazed by the quality of this recording. I mean it's like 50 years old and still sounds amazing. Many modern concert recordings can't hold up to this.
When done right with good equipment, things of this era sounded great. It was pre-digital and the height of analog technology. The early digital equipment that followed was inferior.
As a Yank, I absolutely thsnk the Aussies for gifting us AC/DC. Angus, Bon, and Makcom are fabulous, no doubt. But what an anchor Cliff Williams is on bass. And Phill Rudd, you can set an Atomic Clock to his tempo and timing!
Thank Scotland Angus n Malcolm born in Glasgow n livec in Cranhill where they first played guitar. Bon was born / lived in Kirriemuir Scotland Not an Australian bone in their body. 🏴🏴🏴
@@andylowe1517 Angus, Malcolm and Bon always said they were an Australian band, though they were proud of their Scottish heritage. Bon and Malcolm are both buried in Oz. The Young's house is in Burwood Sydney. It is now an optometrist I think. By the way as you would expect, Angus's name doesn't appear on any of the school honour boards.

So many other bands have come along that I love but if Bon Scott lived ACDC would be my favorite band of all time and they are the best rock and roll band ever with him!! I don't know how Angus Young got himself into those modes where he plays like a machine or like a wild animal but it is amazing he is one of the greatest guitar players of all time if not the greatest!! I still wish he would make his own solo album I know it would be great! AC DC with Bon Scott you guys were absolutely the best Beyond any other rock band hands down! This song is off the live album If You Want Blood you've got it which I think is the best rock and roll live album that ever was to this day! This song has so much energy
spot on mate -full volume with bon
true heavy rock done right is timeless
bon Scott was by far the best frontman in rock and roll Period...This band top 5 of all time
@dearne75
Only way AC/DC can be played .
Take it easy , and keep Rocking
This song never gets old. Its in my top 3 for ac/dc. Its feral.
Feral Boogie
I play it when my cat goes.out

RIFF RAFF!!!!
@@Bawitdabadabangdadang WELL, LET'S DO IT FOR THE LAUGHS!!!
Angus is an anomaly. He is probably in better shape than a marathon runner and never had to run a day in his life. The guy's energy and performance onstage are electrifying.
The dude smokes too !!! Lol his lungs tells the smoke to fuck off 😂
Malcolm Young said this was the ultimate Ac/Dc song, it encompassed everything they were about.
I didn't know it , but i'm 100000000% agree with him
coxscorner Quintessential yes indeed!! Killer track
Thanks for that information I never knew that this was always my favorite song by them never understood why they never played it on the radio
Malcolm was right.
Long live bon scott best of the best
Yep, the first two minutes is probably the best opening 2 minutes of any song, ever, by anyone.
Agree! I play the intro over and over
This and Spirit of the Radio - my two favorite openers...honorable mention to Cheap Trick and Hello There!
...in the history of ever...
Agreed........best opening song ever!
Yeaah, riff raff is so underrated. Like the whole powerage album
Shot on 16mm film and I guess audio from the desk.
Sound guy turned up Malcom in Angus’s speaker for the first part of the solo 🤣😂🥲
Thank Scotland
Angus n Malcolm born in Glasgow n livec in Cranhill where they first played guitar.
Bon was born / lived in Kirriemuir Scotland
Not an Australian bone in their body.
🏴🏴🏴
@@andylowe1517 Angus, Malcolm and Bon always said they were an Australian band, though they were proud of their Scottish heritage. Bon and Malcolm are both buried in Oz. The Young's house is in Burwood Sydney. It is now an optometrist I think. Angus went to Ashfield Boys High school in Ashfield, Sydney which was the original school uniform he wore, including the 'A' cap. I know becauseI lived in Ashfield for 20 years. By the way as you would expect, Angus's name doesn't appear on any of the school honour boards.
@@ArchibaldBaggeThe optometrist should advertise, I'd come from America to get an eye exam. He can call it Eyewear to Hell.
If this track doesn't fire you up, then I feel so sad for you. Unmatched power. Never will this ever happen again. So glad this footage and music legacy lives.
If this track doesn't fire you up, you're dead
My body says go, my mind says no 🥲
42 years ago today, we miss you Bon Scott!! King of the Riff Raff
Nice Shot Mark that's a bull's-eye you're awesome
You support nazi's?
Still rockin this shit in 2019!!! Sounds better than ever!!
Tom Koestner Best Rock album of all time! \m/
Makes me feel good all over. God Damn these guys kick ASS ⚡⚡
Powerage often gets overlooked which is a shame because it's a great album. Down Payment Blues is a fantastic modern blues song.
no equal live..
That's bullshit! Nobody compares to Bon Scott. And brother Angus is old... and his skin is long...
This is rock and roll history! One of the greatest live videos ever!
Yes sir, and Live Wire is cool too
Absolutely agree!!
This is one of the greatest riffs of ALL time period !🤘🤘🤘
This kicks a ridiculous amount of ass. I can only imagine how incredible it would be to see this live.
It's fuckin phenomenal!!!!😎✌
I've seen them in 09 but i can't even imagine how it felt to see them in 70's when this shit was brand new
"This kicks a ridiculous amount of ass."
Thank you.
Been a long time since I rock and rolled.
Yes sir if you want blood live is my favorite 70s album by them I'd be hear all night texting all the great things I had to say about acdc just a cool band and iron maiden my to favs see ya
I have to say I think this is the definitive Rock performance of all time ever! Just beyond electric & power jaw-dropping performance! The thing I like best about ACDC is they are not a heavy metal band. ACDC is rock and roll music folks it's souped up but this is what you call rock and roll! Long live rock and roll!
One of the greatest rock songs ever, this deserves so much more love
Greatest rock and roll band ever! period.
Hell yeah!
Nov 2020 interview. Angus named this one of their best riffs. Thx Malcolm.
And indeed it is 👍
I think this riff, along with Heatseeker and Stormy May Day are their top 3 riffs.
i was at this concert as a 16 yo. Ears were ringing for hours after. best concert ever.
I'm so jealous, must be one of your best memories
Yep, was in the stalls that night, had seen em at city halls prior to that
@@JamesBond-si7xs my mates had tickets for the stalls and i could only get the balcony. i hung about the foyer looking for an opportunity to skip in then abig group of bikers just walked past the bouncers and i went in among them to sit with my mates.
Paul McBride excellent Paul haha, we all did that at one point in those days !
That's amazing! I wish I could've been alive to see Bon Scott ..
RIP Malcolm Young, what a genius you were.
angus youngs energy is legendary! hes possessed when playing guitar
This has got to be one of the most electrifying performances by one of the greatest bands ever
Arguably one of the best opening riffs of any rock song, the way Riff Raff just builds up, then explodes.
I don’t understand probably one of the greatest guitar riffs off all time and only 8 million views 🤔
Some people have no taste.
Hey, less than a year later and we're up to 10. Maybe we're getting somewhere.
Yeah It Is. It isn't a problem because we are people with heart and brain. ⚡
Up next to speaker near stage live ,never headbanged and danced so hard in my life. Even Angus acknowleged it.
Man, I just discovered this song today. That riff, it is KILLER!!!!! And so much fun to play, this is pure rocking bliss
Bon Scott and AC/DC..No Bullshit hard rock at its powerful best..
Angus and Malcolm in full flight.....most underrated ACDC track....my favorite ACDC track... 👍👍
What a performance. AC/DC at their finest. Rock on!
Amazing concert , Bon and the band were absolutely incredible, what a concert. The audience, including myself went mad ….need I say more
U were there?!?! Have listened to the live album “If You Want Blood....” for 42yrs! Was too young to see Bon Scott live. Saw AC/DC only once back in ‘82. Never a BJohnson fan.
unbelievable to see how seemingly effortless Bonn Scott could scream his lungs out! He was without any shred of a doubt the best rock and roll singer there ever was!
Eric le Chevalier
Absolutely, I do not own anything by AC/DC with squeaky Brian on it.
For me when Bon died I stopped buying their albums. Powerage is played every week, sometimes more than once a day!

very efficient drumming.. just forward.. no needless fills.. i f***ing agree with you Matthew Wasik

Nope. Not just you.....

Freddie Mercury
Paul Stanley in the 70s was THE best frontman . Nobody could deliver like Paul did in the 70s. But Bon was perfect for Acdc imo.

My rock-n-roll hero. A real rock star.
The world will never experience another band like these guys unfortunately.
The best opener ever for a ac/dc concert. And one of their top 5 all time tracks. A true classic. Rolli g stones would be jealous not wrote this tune and the whole power age album. Phenomenal music. And with the mighty legend Bon Scott on vocals. It was never better.
Keith Richards wouldn't be close to play this.

Powerage is an absolute masterpiece!
How tf does Angus play so well will jumping around like a madman?! Pure talent! 🤟
There is life in old songs. What a song.

Absolute Legend.I still get hairs standing up when I hear this, I had 2 pints in the Target bar across the road,
Under age drinking(only 16 at time) Then watched this live in the Apollo, Take me back to that day!
I saw this live back in 1979 in the Music Hall, Houston Texas. I was a senior in High School and it was a few months before Bon passed. Bon Scott was truly an amazing vocalist . 😎
My AC/DC era. Love them with Bon especially.
Rember the day he died. Carved his name into a picnic table outside my high school. The best blues driven rock n roll ever.
This is when Angus and Malcolm had the best tone of their career. Hands Down.
