Why is everyone arguing with somebody called Satansprick13 ? Who cares about the language if we are just enjoying the music. I'm from Ireland and traveled to Amsterdam to see this fantastic German band, and you know what ? I couldn't understand word one in any of the German songs, It was one of the best gigs I've ever been to.

One might apparently think this song is the same old idea, but take a look at the lyrics in your own language if you can. It is exactly the opposite. It is the rebellion against established thinking. It calls for questioning and literally emptying one's brains against the wall so that one might be able to take in something different and new. They are not looking for the scapegoat, but rather for the escape route. It's beautiful.

I love my friend dani who gave me this link its funny we have been friends online for something approaching 10 yrs neubaten transcend the boundaries of language Ive loved them for 20 yrs and i dont speak a word of german (except that which i have learnt through them, I now know a suprising amount of what my german mates are talking about thanks to EN)

@1Aurelija Galennskapt meant "metal" in terms of steel, iron. aluminum...the percussive instruments EN uses are industrial age waste products eg shopping carts, springs, ventilation shafts etc. I agree, the wine is good..even better w time.
great performance. wish it could have been multi-screen, one fr each performer, so we could see what the musician does fr the whole time. camera too jumpy as is....

Ich muss zu meiner Schande gestehen das ich eigentlich jemand bin der keinen sonderlich guten Zugang zu der Musik der Einstürzenden Neubauten hat.Das gilt sowohl für die Musik selbst als auch für die Texte.Aber hier ein wahnsinniges lieb gemeiontes Kompliment ich hatte wohl noch nie so extrem viele Assoziationen zu einen Lied.

Maybe it would be prudent to familiarize yourself with 'industrial' music up to the point Trent released PHM. There's a great deal of obscure work that sounds stikingly similar... Jim Thirwell, Tom Ellard, and the list goes on. Jim Thirwell produced a series of mixes for Fixed, I believe, because Trent had great respect for his influence on his own work. This doesn't mean Trent is not a talented artist, it just means that your statement "..rezner steals from nowhere" is misaligned with the facts
I don't speak German. If you're interested, there're translations online. Only if you want (obviously). Actually it's been awhile since I listened to this myself.

@Mistercolhcsra Musik ist eine organisierte Folge von Schalllereignissen. Folglich kann jeder Krach der aber genau so in dieser Form gewollt ist als Musik behandelt werden. Ob man die "Musik" mag ist eine andere Sache.

This performance is fuckin badass! Love the clingy tools and the bass guitar kick in the song. Einsturzende Neubauten are Industrial legends.
