Devon Larratt's intensity and showmanship in arm wrestling often draw mixed reactions. While some perceive his aggressive persona as part of the sport's entertainment value, others might see it as excessive. However, many fans and competitors recognize that he maintains professionalism outside of the table, showing respect and camaraderie with fellow athletes. This duality is part of what makes him a compelling figure in the sport-he knows how to engage an audience while also being dedicated to the craft itself.
You can love him or you can hate him. You can watch him or you can turn it off.

"Professionalism" involves being reliable, setting your own high standards, and showing that you care about every aspect of your job. It's about being industrious and organized, and holding yourself accountable for your thoughts, words and actions.
You might not like Devon tactic's and aggression but He's also very calculated he does everything within the rules. He definitely goes to the line and crosses over. But at the end of the day being aggressive, loud obnoxious, etc. there's no rule set against that. I do agree that some of his actions yesterday were definitely questionable no doubt about it. It's going to be on him to adjust that. It will be on us whether or not we choose to watch it.
At the end of the day, it was a dominating performance and fantastic display of arm wrestling.

Devon's antics are just part of the show. It's like WWE in that sense of building up tension and get everyone pumped up, but IRL behind the scenes Devon and other armwrestlers are pretty much all buddies and take it easy.
And if some other pros can't handle the antics... If they blame their loss on Devon's mindgames.. that's on them. They are simply not strong enough neither mentally or physically. All that Petrenko needed to do was ignore the mindgames and show he's the stronger guy, but as the result shows, he wasn't.

    1. Morozov called him out knowing he was 105 not shw and had a title match
    2. Morozov came to the stage to pull Devon after Oleg match
    3. Engin came up like he wanted it to happen
    4. After straps were on - they were playing around until morozov started pulling from winning position shouting go go go and his face expressions changed to pure anger
    5. Devon brought him back from losing position to past center
    6. Morozov tried to pin Devon again with ferocity and again his facial expressions show he wasn’t joking- unfortunately for him he wrist cracked back like butter and he realized quickly he wasn’t gonna be able to do this.
    7. Engin realized this too and didn’t like that morozov was being exposed like that the day he was given the left hand gauntlet by a 105 kg Devon so he started more aggressively pulling Devon up even swearing at him in Turkish - Devon never swore at Engin
    8. Devon didn’t comply and pushed Engin from trying to pull him up - rules had already gone out the window because of where morozov started pulling so this was strange to see Engin trying to only enforce rules on Devon. Not once did he try to do anything to morozov.
    9. Morozov just held Devon at center with a slight cup as he knew the moment he pushed again his wrist would crack back again. And relied on Engin to end this somehow… then hushed Devon away like he’d won when Engin finally did.
    10. He was still Butt hurt which is why he came back up looking like he wanted to fight. While Engin was pushing Devon back.
If you don’t see the one-sidedness of all this, you have no objectivity or contextual understanding with what had been happening between Devon -Engin in the build up to this event which was started by Engin, not Devon. How is Engin getting a pass in all of this? He has acted the most poorly as an organizer who is supposed to be neutral. He likes Devon being his cash cow but goes on record calling him a cheater at his own events? Putting words in opponents’ mouths to start the beef then when Devon calls it out everyone cries ‘where is the respect?’ . If I have lied about any of the above - please show me where instead of calling me names since u can’t handle the truth.

Devon's a bit larger life than the sport itself. You can imagine that Devon would fit RIGHT IN with something like WWE. Showmanship is the name of his game. He's not there to simply compete, but to put on a show. Obviously arm wrestling as a sport, does not really have this as part of the event. It's more of a competition of going up to the table, doing your business and walking off stage. Devon brings a level of excitement that the sport doesn't have on its own.
Love him or hate him for that, he's doing everything he can to get more eyes on the sport. Viral moments can bring more attention to it. I don't agree with all of them and some of them are very cringe, but he's trying, lol.
It's just that he's a mix of two different personas clashing and it gives you odd feels towards him. Off the events, he's super humble and the nicest guy. During the press conferences, at the table competing he's an entirely different person and he plays the heel flawlessly. You can't help but really hate him, lol. He bullies his opponents, talks down of them and humiliates them in front of the audience. What he did with Oleg was almost sad to see because Oleg is a really nice dude. Devon wouldn't stop going in on the taunts to the point where I think Oleg was too embarrassed to even pull anymore.

This wasn't your normal trolling Devon. To me there seems to be some unspoken BEEF between Devon vs Engin & Dennis. Engin is and has always been a snake. Engin has been desperately trying to find more Europeans to beat Devon in his weight classes. I think we all saw a hint of that after the 3rd pin Devon did on Olav, he ran up to Engin's face and mocked him for putting such an amateur opponent in front of him and basically rubbed it in his face for Engin thinking Olav was gonna do anything to Devon.
That's the underlying thing I see that I think many people aren't seeing

The only reason we care about anything is the human connection and the interest in the personalities. The more you know the athletes, their storylines, the rivalries, the more you want to follow. WWE is fake, sure.. But there's a reason they have millions of fans, DESPITE the fact that you know it's fake. They know how to market characters.
Take the UFC for example. There's a role for a G.S.P type personality (which is what the arm wrestling purists probably want ALL athletes to be like). However, I would argue that if all athletes were like GSP, only the purists would watch. You need a Connor McGregor, a Chael Sonnen, a Mike Bisping, a Nate Diaz, an Israel Adesanya, a Wanderlei Silva, a Rampage Jackson for this thing to work. The UFC were about to go bankrupt before the 'Ultimate Fighter series' saved the company. Now, think about what was compelling about the Ultimate Fighter series when it started.
