I have that same mini red Cattleya on my tree that just gave me 3 spikes. I have no idea what it is. I believe it may be a chocolate drop Cattleya. Not fragrant at all but very beautiful. NO HURRICANES!!!!!! Laz always seran wraps his orchids that are attached to his palm when a hurricane is about to hit. It works wonderfully.
Thank you so very much for this video Blanca. Answered so many questions that I had. I also have had not much success in pots and have lost so many phals. So looking forward to mounting.
I love your videos and am learning so much, so I can better care for my orchids. Do you happen to have a spreadsheet or anything that shows the light requirements, preferred planting method/medium, etc?
Hi Blanca 🤗 this is your beginner orchid collector .I love this video, so much helpful information for me. I love your yard .So many blooms, and the spikes are growing crazy lol. Next week we are experiencing cold front ,at night time the temperature might go down to 48°F🥶.Is there orchid grower you can recommend that has good selection oncidium orchids? Thanks 😊
If I put my plants outside they would not grow -7 I’m really icy so your country is a lot warmer from ours love to see your garden and all your precious flowers they are absolutely beautiful
Your lucky in those regards with being able to mount more types than say Blanca Acosta and I can, but even up where we live we can still get away with mounting on trees also with quite a few species and hybrids. You should try a Laelia anceps on a tree.
@@blancasorchidgarden any Brassavola down by you should do good on trees also. And most warm growing encyclia too. And any smaller tree hugger Cattleya type like walkeriana or nobilior and their crosses. I don't grow on trees yet because we still rent, but the move is coming soon! Real Soon!
I have 2 orchids outside, all the rest are inside, and this week in Lisbon the temperatures will go down to 5º Celsius. It'll last for at least a week. Do who think I should just leave them outside or bring them in? Thanks for the tour.
Curious if Thrips might be coming from the Spanish Moss ? Regarding _Young Vandas.. I like to grow them in wood baskets.. but... I add some Large Lava Rock to stabilize the plant (easier than tying them to the baskets.)
Loved the video. Can't wait till the Vanda Violetta shows off her gorgeous blooms. That will be a show stopper!
🎊🎊🎊 I can’t wait!
Miss you Blanca. I hope all is well with you and your family!

Hi Nelson.. 👋
Nelson; I doubt it's" Chocolat Drop" which would have a strong fragrance My guess it's a Slc. Jewel Box.
Wow amazing view so beautiful place 💕💕🤩🤩

Do you take your vanda collection inside during a hurricane?

That’s 41 degrees Fahrenheit and I would bring them inside. You may have cool growers so those might be ok but I would bring inside just in case 😊
@@blancasorchidgarden Thanks a lot... Will do tmrw norning...

Oh noooo I’ll drench them in insecticide next time I treat. Just to be safe 😖
